Like this mix of yours & sample of other people’s for ideas. I prefer terra cotta & white pots so I see the plants rather than the pots; except for VERY FEW isolated ones that have special meaning.
Great advice Debra, It's the very problem with my growing collection that has had me stagnate with ideas of how to display them without it looking mishy mashy!
"Mishy mashy" is the perfect way to describe it. If asked for a one-word description, I might have said "entropy" --- Lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder.
They do indeed. Ants try to overwinter in my potted aloes and haworthias. Here's how I deal with them debraleebaldwin.com/caring-for-succulents/ants-in-your-succulents-what-to-do/
Hello Debra, I have a question about my Kalanchoe plants . They look fantastic but I am noticing the past two morning that the leaves are beginning to fall off The plant. I live in Northern California and they are in a sunroom facing the south.

@@QueenofSucculents thank you so very much ! I love your channel , very informative and So many great videos , I’ve spent a few hours already browsing all the awesome videos. @@QueenofSucculents Thank You for helping provide me w so much helpful info to inspire me even more with my succulent collection and take more care of my local birdies. Happy Thanksgiving 🍁!
Such a wonderful video full of clearly presented design elements and the hows and why’s of implementing them. Many gardens already have the plants, pots and structures to design with but what’s lacking is an aesthetic ‘eye’ . That lack can be compensated for by simply applying the approaches that you have outlined herein. ~ Gary and Wanda’s display shelves housed with protection from the elements are both practical and attractive. ~ I hand water my entire garden. As you noted, it gives you the opportunity to closely cultivate your plants. ~ Over the past year I created a new part of my garden. I used Buddha images as a repetitive element. If you are interested, I would like to share the garden with you through a video I titled Exotic Cactus and Succulent Garden. It’s a work in progress but I think you might enjoy it.
@@QueenofSucculents - Thank you kindly. I think some of the videos I’ll be posting will be of enjoyable interest to you. Coastal California flora is endlessly fascinating!

What a great tutorial and so informative. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Much appreciated! Thanks!
Thank you, Debra. I never have liked my messy pot collection. I tidied up, but it still looks disorganized. I have work to do now! Great ideas!
I could do a whole video on pot editing. I didn't show all my unused pots, crammed and stacked on a baker's rack also in the side yard. Hm.
Awesome
Thank you so much! Great ideas. More like this would be wonderful.
Good to know. Thanks, Lynda.
I agree. If there are many pot styles it looks like a hodge-podge. Put them all in the same color and it instantly looks "designed."
Thanks, Tina!
This video is so excellent! I really enjoyed it and learned a lot!
Thank you so much, Nancy!
Lots of good ideas and examples - This makes me think about regrouping my tons of pots! Thank you!
Thank YOU, Kathleen!

I often say that terra-cotta is a neutral in the garden.

You have wonderful pots. That's one thing I find difficult to find here in Hawaii. Perhaps online I'd have better luck. Thanks for doing this video!
Thanks, Anne. I wonder why pots are hard to find in Hawaii. Maybe their weight, considering everything has to be shipped?
Couldn't 'like' more.👌
What a great comment. Makes me happy.
So many possibilities!!
Love all your talavera pots.k
Very helpful, thanks!
Thank YOU.
thank you very much, excellent video. 🥰
Thank you, Miriam!
Even if elevated, insects can still access the pots. Ants can crawl for example.
