    This is how my mom do it too. But back in the day we didnt have blender we had to manually grind the soaked grains. And she would add coconut milk. Yummy

    I tried making it. I put a little twist on it by putting asado filling for the first batch and salted egg with cheese for the 2nd batch 😊 thanks for the demo btw.

    I tried this , but instead of water, I use coconut milk. My son loves it.
    I even tried adding malunggay/ spinach leaves.

    I made it today but instead of cooking I use butter for the molder....its so delicious I love it....rice puto it's so yummy and healthy food... Anyway half of my mixture that I made I add squash or pumpkin on it... it's work...rice puto with squash or pumpkin...nice

    hi KitcheNetPh thanks po for sharing this recipe it turns out great and fluffy ☺ my kids really love it, I add some malunggay leaves to make it healthy. sobrang lambot at masarap.
    tips: I used cheap rice and soaked it overnight, I adjust the water to 3/4 cups, since I read some comments here that the outcome of the recipe was hard and gritty. just follow the fermentation process for 4 hours before you steam the batter.

    I know that we have many diffent kind of kakanin (rica cake) and this one is my favorite kind of rice cake(Puto) philippine style,when i was young i always ate this with cheese on top made by my grandma she like to add more baking powder to make it more fluffier its so yummy and healthy food but now im far im in korea, rice cake here is very different to what i used to eat i really miss philippine kakanin so yummy puto.

    Also best made with "sweet tuba" (local fresh coconut sap). Kaya lang bibihira na yata these days ang tuba. Thanks for the modern recipe

      I tried it and did low to medium steam for 15min...I also added a little more baking powder to make fluffier

    Jaw dropping way on how to have your own rice flour. I'm always wondering when I will be able to buy rice flour because I can't go outside and If I have a chance then there's a little chance for me too purchase rice flour. I'm not sure if it is available in the Market. Thank you so much because this video helps me to have an idea and at the same time to be more resourceful. I haven't realized that all the things that I needed can be found in our house. I don't need to find it. Nice video and it makes me say WOW!

    I just tried this recipe. It lacks sweetness and it was bland. So Ill bump up the sugar from 3/4 to 1 cup or 1 1/4 cup

    I followed your recipe and it turned out sticky much like solid paste. Maybe if you add more baking powder will make it more fluffier?

    I tried this recipe but the puto was too dense for my taste. The rice to water ratio has to be adjusted.

    Bigas din gamit ni mama, pag gawa nang puto. Pinapa giling kopa po yung bigas sa market. Hindi kopo na isip pwede pala i blender hehe. Salamat sa info po.

    Thank you po sa new version mo pag gawa ng puto.....nag titinda ako nyan noon bata pa ako.haha..ang nanay gumagawa pero in old fashion way...binababad ng niyog yong rice.then may mano mano kami gilingan.sakit sa kamay hahaha...tapos biking powder gamit ni nanay..its called tuba.fr.niyog...tapos yong hulmahan nya.yong lalagyan ng star margarine kaya ang lalaki .hahaha.
