    Earl the feel you possess is unreal!!! Playing a groove using the shell, floor tom, snare rim and kick was off the chain homie. You had me in trancelike state, I could feel the message. Love your creativity!! Then when you went to the snare/hat groove, your dynamic touch locked me in!! Earl you are definitely one of the greats brother. Have a wonderful day Earl!👍✌️👊😁

    Earl Bennett this was some really awesome drumming my friend. Amazing work. Pretty cool how you are tapping the side of your floor tom.

      johnsondrummer ... thank you Michael ... it’s a tough beat to get the sound out consistently on just the rim of the floor tom ... so I choose to hit the side of the drum to get a fatter clacky sound. Our worship leader called it playing that “clacky Beat” last night at rehearsal! Thanks for watching my friend!

      Gigi, I always appreciate your feedback! It's a groove that was probably looped in ProTools and just seems perfect on the original recording ... It took a lot concentration to play that focused. I'm still working on it for sure. Thank for watching!

    I can imagine that it is hard to keep the concentration or your mind on one place!! I had that with the Motörhead cover!! I personally liked how you used the side of the tom as well that is what makes drumming so musically all the great ideas and with you excellent dynamics Earl!! Sounded great as usual!! The people at worship are going to be in for a treat!!

    • @earldrum
      @earldrum  5 років тому +1

      Zax Drums ... thanks for the encouragement! The repetitive nature of today’s drumming makes it important challenge ourselves to step out of our comfort zone and stretch! This song had some challenges ... it’s not my style to play the rim hits but that is the groove on this one! I thought the side of the floor tom sounded better than a rim! That’s why I used it ... it’s all about the sound and feel! I’m glad you enjoyed it Zax! I’m sure it will work out tonight! 👍🏻😀🤟🏻

    Trying to figure this song out. The stick patterns keeps throwing me off. Any tips?

    • @earldrum
      @earldrum  4 роки тому +1

      BP Fishing ... sorry I didn’t see this one ... I miss lots of YT messages. It’s a rhythm thing for me more than a hand pattern. But the hand pattern is not alternating it’s broken up and plays to the accents. I think I’m playing the e and ahs in the left hand and the 1 and & notes in the right except the 2 which is a left hand on the rim. If that helps.. it’s a feel thing I relearn every time this song is chosen! Crazy, but true! God bless.

    Loved the cool beat and the side drum hits...very cool and different! Try doing that with an ekit!! Great job Earl

    • @earldrum
      @earldrum  5 років тому

      Michael, thank you Michael ... with an e-kit you just program the rim on another pad right! But this is how I actually played the song in church tonight. And I used the kit in the video! Thanks my friend!
