Certainly Verdi wrote some very attractive ballet scores for performances of his operas in Paris. The challenge today is to make them "relevant" in an age when attention spans seem to be shortening markedly and also the sheer expense of mounting them. I've seen a few of them in situ though: this music was included in an ENO production in the 80s and the Macbeth is sometimes done. Once again thanks to Maestro Bonynge for including a lively reading of this music for his complete Trovatore which also included some minor variations in the score Verdi inserted solely for Paris. He didn't include the ballet in the performances of the opera at Covent Garden in 1981 sadly.
