    fabulous! i just watched The Last Laugh and was enchanted by the film and the moving camera as you explain, and several other touches. i definitely felt Hitchcock in several movements - there is no doubt murnau's influence there. i have to research more, as there were two versions on youtube, with two different soundtracks and quality of prints. 1920s german filmmakers one of the most influential groups ever, rivaling french 1960s new wave, etc. ty! ... it's fascinating to see and feel these 100 yr old movies more alive and relevant than they have been in many many decades

    Fantastic control of tone. Love the well-researched content, and the direct, intense style of delivery. Excellent job on such an important pioneer; the reference in the video to “first poet of cinema” is very well put.
