Today, getting what you need is as easy as a trip to the store. From food to clothing, energy, medicine, and so much more, Andy George will discover what it takes to make everything from scratch. His mission is to understand the complex processes of manufacturing that is often taken for granted and do it all himself. Each week he’s traveling the world to bypass the modern supply chain in order to harvest raw materials straight from the source. Along the way, he’s answering the questions you never thought to ask.

Thank you so much for making such informative videos, i love learning and wanting to learn more about how things are made, but i never had that option to do this by video or extensive research and learning how to do things on my own. And you saved me so much torturing time i force myself to spend during my busy schedule. You're my hero man. Also, i was wondering if you can do videos on how to make soap from scratch.

I kinda wonder about using some of the dreaded chemicals.
Either lye or baking soda would greatly decrease the amount of processing needed to make the plant fibers usable, and both can be sourced from renewable sources like wood ash.

    • @Broockle

I think you'd have to take the material, like this cotton or hemp fiber and stack like a huge ton of it and push it under the press and then let it dry with tons of fans cause it won't have nearly as much surface area.
Then maybe you'd have what I'm imagining.
What do you mean by "pre-stacked paper thing"? You mean a pack of papers? Those wouldn't be one piece.
I want a solid cube of paper xD

If you wanted to to that yourself you would have sifted out all of that stuff like you did, and then threw the pulp out, and then used something like a coffee filter
