I think we need to shine a light on child exploitation. This, is certainly bad, but infants are being sold without birth certificates into the dark world of child sex Slavery.
please do an update!!! she just released a music video and she's definitely still getting used for profit. She went live and "exposed" her father. Whole thing is sus and uncomfortable.
Her dad was trying to keep her safe. If she’s against him it’s probably because she’s old enough to want to be online and he won’t let her. The mom and bro are the worst.
@@_..-.._..-.._definitely can't blame him though. She doesn't understand that her fame is the wrong kind and I guarantee once she is older she will realize he was trying to protect her.
It’s so crazy because now /everything/ is online, so these kids are put through a speedrun of exploitation and trauma. Not to downplay child stars, they went through hell, but it’s so different from a decade ago; it’s a different type of messed up that we still don’t fully understand.
@@JaraelMoonsilverno literally, and to think in a few years these people can show us how messed up everything really is like celebrities do now. it's really sad and scary that history repeated itself in such a different and horrifying way
It's honestly even worse than child stars on tv/movies because even child stars are required to have a few special accommodations on set and very specific hours they can work to protect from child labor laws. I mean I'm not saying child stars are protected enough, but they have even just a little more than these online child influencers get :(
Uh….not necessarily. Child star’s usually has their likeness sold without their consent to their parents...if a child influencer wants to make a post about their oppressive environment, they can Quickly do that…that wasn’t the case with older child stars who could be kept from the press and public and abused in secret. Not to mention the older days when child stars were literally indentured servants to studios who would get them full of drugs to make them work 20 hour days then more drugs to make them sleep when it was convenient to the studio. Not to mention that so many child actors have been passed around to pedophiles! There’s a lot of cons on both ends.
I think a lot of people are unbelievably stupid and ignorant. I didn’t even know who this girl was until this drama because I don’t actively seek out child entertainers. It’s so bizarre to me.
I was never super into her, but she kinda sat in my head as like a child vine star. Like had some funny videos go viral just like plenty of other kids have
Yes, it was very obvious that she was acting. The flow of dialogue feels like a rehearsal. When I first saw that video of her flexing, my first reaction was: "damn, where's her parent?" Someone is definitely behind it, but "that person" being her very own brother and mother is disgusting.
same, not to mention she got sooo hated, until it leaked that her brother (who was also a bit young) was telling her what to say. Back then, the only person I saw that understood the situation was Danny Gonzales.
@@athena_cr I will never understand why people get so angry over children saying and doing stupid stuff, like why? I hope it was mostly young people because I'd hate to see actual adults so angry at her and not the adults in her life. If an actual child is saying and doing stuff that is both very bad and not something they should even know, start looking into the family situation because something isn't right.
@@athena_cr I still see people hating on her to this very day and it's heartbreaking. She's only now 14-years-old which means by the time she's a legal adult, she'd have spent nearly half of her childhood being hated on by internet strangers for things she was dragged into being a part of. It's beyond infuriating and depressing all at once.
I hope when Tay grows up, she'll come forward and press charges against the people who have stripped her childhood from her. Tbh I never cared for her internet persona, and the announcement felt scammy to me when I first heard the news, so I didn't care. I hope she gets justice as soon as she's able. She doesn't deserve this.
This. I know the dad is not perfect, but it sounds like he's the most sensible and trying to apply the brakes. I just hope the court forces an account to be made for her so she doesn't turn 18 and have absolutely nothing from this trial, independent of alllll the people in her life.
The thing that makes me feel so frustrated about this situation is that her initial dream of making music would (especially now) come with such heavy baggage. It’s already bad enough that most of the adults (and her older brother when he was still a minor) created her online persona meant to bait in all that negative attention; her “last known manager” is using that accursed fake persona in tandem with an awful attack on her privacy and peace to get himself some clout and promote his scam- I mean cryptocurrency.... Seriously hoping whatever she wants to do with her life never has to intersect with social media - the hate she was still getting even when it’s fucking crystal clear that she’s a victim in all this makes it clear that she’ll have to develop quite a thick skin as that level of hate will likely never stop...
Will that even be the truth? I don’t think she even knows much of the truth. I mean everyone has their _own truth_ but despite how close you are to someone you don’t know what goes on in their head or behind closed doors. That being said there are people like this that make up their own truth and you can never really trust anything they say even when it’s the truth. Like the crying wolf story 🐺 Not to mention in a conspiracy with multiple people involved no one will ever really know the whole truth especially from the one who is being manipulated the most in the group. It’s like the saying _”I’m not a mushroom 🍄 I’m just always kept in the dark and fed🐂 💩.”_
Can we all make a pact to not mock Tay when she becomes an adult and inevitably starts dealing with all this childhood trauma and the mental health difficulties it has caused? We've had too many child stars get laughed at for the psychological dysfunction their abusive childhood caused. This is how she's being taught to interact with the world, it takes a LOT to undo that damage.
Child "influencers" need legal protections and labor laws so bad. The way family blogs use their kids for content always rubbed me the wrong way, they are too young to consent to having their whole childhood posted for millions of people. Unfortunately anything meaningful happening at the national level is unlikely right now. Change cannot come soon enough for these poor kids.
Okay yeah growing up one of my friends bragged about how her mom was a well-known autism mom blogger and like they had pseudonyms but my friend was like 7, 8, 9 years old and thought she was famous and she and her sister had their pictures on the blog and I always thought it was weird/kinda creepy? And this was just a static written blog, not videos or anything, it’s so much worse now than in the early 00s
As a family law attorney, the dad was likely waiting to make any sort of statement until he’d fully investigated the matter and decided whether or not to file something on the custody case. That part makes complete sense to me. Nothing else about this situation does though 😂
Hi, I am not familiar with law (esp US and Canada) but I am curious, if you don't mind answering some of my questions. It seems that Tay is in her mom's custody right now. Is it possible that her father can somehow get custody of her? Also, I am wondering how and why her mom got custody in the first place? In my eyes as a layman this is a child abuse and endangerment, but idk if 'I let my children flex online and get some monetary advantages from it' is strong enough argument in the eyes of law.
@@avgeek-and-fashionwell clearly not if she’s back in the public eye right now and that’s why everyone is talking about her again. these accounts should’ve just been deleted right off the bat imo.
I feel bad for her. She was controlled by her horrible family. Like family channels and instagram influencers, they were objectifying her for clout. Also, her 16 year old brother was an asshole. Im sorry to say that about him, but what he did was completely wrong. Now he or her mother (who is also in the wrong) use her in an almost terrifying way is just sad.
I was 16-17 when I found about what he was doing, and its totally fair to call him that. I thought he was an asshole too. Him being a teenager when he did this is irrelevant, plenty of teens at that time had the presence of mind to see that it was wrong. You are not a baby that doesn't understand right from wrong when you're 16 years old.
Could you defend the brother? Maybe, on the grounds that he was a child, and even then that’s some very shaky ground to stand on. However, there is literally no way to defend the mother, who raised both of them and didn’t put a stop to this for extremely petty reasons.
Nah, don’t feel sorry about it. I’m an older sister and I can’t imagine treating my little sister that way. Younger siblings look up to their older siblings so much and he used her trust and love to manipulate her into this. It’s really horrible and I don’t think any responsible teenagers would knowingly do this.
He really is. Not only the exploitation but him telling her to be more ignorant is insane. Wonder what he thinks of a community he has used to create wealth for him. A little Black girl could never get away with this while building such notoriety and fanfare.
as someone who was in the middle of my parents very messy divorce i can say that if one of my parents kept posting about it it would wreck me tbh. I just feel incredibly bad for this kid
@@charlottesaunders5457that’s really sad is that for sure? I know sometimes they rule in favor of maternal relationships but I’ve done no research into this
@@mariap1749 speaking as someone whose mother tried for custody, and considering that she was firmly in her dad's custody for a couple years before being switched completely to her mom, I don't see a reason to doubt that there's definitely compelling evidence. I think domestic abuse has a tendency to be downplayed/undervalued in some situations (like my own) so it must have been pretty cut-and-dry for a result like this. that being said, there's not a ton of reporting on it beyond strictly the legal decision (which is IMO a good thing all in all) so idk for sure
Katya once proposed that children should simply not be allowed to appear in media, no matter how much their parents assert that it’s their dream, etc etc. Great, like, let them dream about it then, until they’re of age. There’s just practically no way for a child to be a star without it being exploitation, from their family, the studio/label/platform, etc. If the worst outcome is that it becomes harder to create media appearing to feature children, I’d say that’s a much smaller price to pay than damaging actual kids in situations like this.
Sarah Polley, the writer-director who grew up in the industry as an actress also advocate the same thing. With all the current reflection on child stars like the Disney & Nickelodeon kids, maybe we need to rethink this... I doubt child celebrities will ever stop being a thing, but more laws need to be in place to protect them.
In this day and age, child actors could be replaced by AI and VFX. Like that actual children are protected from their greedy parent’s explotation and the entertainment industry still gets its characters.
I was the same age as her brother back when these videos were made, and even I had the common sense to realize what he was doing was wrong. being 16 or 17 isn't a excuse for what he was doing, at that age you know better, he wasn't a child SHE was the child. Edit: y’all need to stop playing dumb, you know what I meant by what I said and I’m not going to continue arguing pointless semantics with you on whether a 16-17 year old is a child or not. I’ve been pretty clear about where I stand on this and I don’t care if you agree with me or not.
I disagree a bit ^^ but also agree... 16/17... such age, rebellious, I can count on a hand at least few teenagers who would go that far. At the age of Lil Tay you don't know much / consequences, at teenage, you don't THINK about consequences/care/consider others feeling.... Especially these days, even at 20 mentally, people aren't as matured as it was back in the day but I do understand what you mean. It is no excuse and he should've known better! But when you see dollar signs, especially as a teenager......... young adult......... ah, we see this back with the British(?) I think, the one who did pranks a lot and got in trouble with the law, and the other young adult who unintentionally caused a riot. They also should've known better, but it all comes down to the ignorance. (Ironically) I hope my opinion makes sense!
@@maapauu4282this generation is 2 years behind mentally because they got locked up for over a year during corona, seeing it in society now 18 year olds are essentially 16 year olds mentally.
Teenagers are still children. He may "know better" in your eyes, and I don't disagree that he probably knows that these actions are harmful and shouldn't be done, but it's just not true that 16/17 isn't a child. The human brain is still developing till about 25. I don't disagree that the people abusing Tay for money are committing a heinous act.
I don't even know if Dr. Phil was involved but I blame him for the pattern of convincing adults its ok and healthy to hate on "bad" kids. At least by 20 when you have had 2 years to realize you are an adult, you need to cut it out.
A kid is a kid. If your kid is "bad" take the right steps to their wellbeing nd improvement. Hating on them will make them worse and worse. No child should be hated on.
yeah, he's also a little bit responsible for the whole "i hate kids" thing that has been going on for the past few years, just read his youtube comments and you'll see it. he provides so many dumbass "reasons" to people for making them think that hating kids" is okay, because "some of them are loud, disrespectful, annoying" - dude, that's a human being with its brain in literal development. if you don't teach them how to behave in the correct way, they are going to be influenced by whatever the fuck the see. and also, kids are not like, some flavor of ice cream you can just say you like or you dislike. they're human beings. you can say you dislike how loud a child near you is being; how annoying one of them is being, that's not an issue, but saying you HATE them is so goddamn stupid. seeing people on his channel say "this is why i hate children" "that's the reason why i hate kids nowadays" makes me so mad.
Yeah this kind of stuff was fuel for a lot of bad parents. My family always watched that crap and clearly thought it was fine to treat a kid like an adult while also giving them no freedom or choices. Cool.
i knew about lil’ tay for a while and when my friend called me to tell me she had died, i almost started crying. i remember thinking that she was young and that she had already gone through so much, and this hoax wasnt an exception. like honestly, people need to leave this child alone and just let her at least try to live a normal life.
It really seems like her father is the only one who had her best interests at heart. I honestly thought her brother was behind the posts, but with the manager's videos and now her mom even chiming in, I'm thinking that they're all working together to get a piece of that pie again
I remember when I first saw the post it struck me as really weird that it read as "Lil Tay is dead, it's tragic and depressing. Oh and also her brother" where normally it would be more like "we're very sad to share that Tay and her brother Jason have died" -- both given equal respect. That said I would never have conceived of this as a hoax (because who does something like that?), I just thought it was odd
What's the saddest thing isn't that she was exploited (although that IS awful), it's that so many people - aka "followers" - signed up to watch her behaving like that. It wasn't ever "funny" - it was clearly exploitative - so perhaps the "followers" ought to look in the mirror for their part in all of this.
While that is true, most of those followers were probably also children. No rational adult ever believed any of that stuff she was showing off really belonged to her. Sure, adults may have known who she was in general, but as far as those actively following her goes - mostly other children.
38:07 it seems that her mom won the custody back. I googled and the law firm trully exists. I doubt her mom is brave enough to go as far as faking legal statement but who knows? Either way, Tay definitely doesn't deserve this
@@ilmianafirmantika8079 It looks like the mother is fighting for back child support, plus asserting that she had the right to sign contracts for the girl, thus making her entitled to whatever cut of money she had from ad revenue on TikTok. It's incredibly vile.
I feel so bad for this little girl. At the time she was being taught to say and do things that aren't okay, she probably wasnt even old enough to even grasp WHY they were bad. And having grown ass adults harassing her online and even recording her in public makes me sick. She's a little girl at the end of the day, only just being a teenager recently. I wish her mother and brother the worst for exploiting this little girl and allowing her to be bombarded with hate at as young as NINE years old. I will never forgive people who couldn't see this was a little girl being exploited for views and money and just bullied, harassed and demonized her, again a nine year old, and made constant videos and posts on her.
she deserves lots of money just to live her life in peace - maybe she wants to make music but i hope she is able to stay away from her brother and mother. her father is amazing for getting her legal rights to prevent people from using her for profit. he seems to actually care for his daughter. once she turns 18, i hope she can just… run and go live her life in safety. i don’t even know how the mother and brother are even not jailed because of how they treated her
7:43 The look on her face when that grown ass man rolled down his window to mock her is heartbreaking. We all just normalized that type of ish back then. As if an 8yr child had any understanding of the consequences of her actions. It's not just her mother and brother who are to blame for exploiting her and stealing her childhood. It's all of us. How many horror stories do we need to hear from child actors before we start taking their trauma seriously. Where ever she is these days, I hope she is happy and feels loved.
people were calling this shit out for being weird AS FUCK even back then. she was just made to be the laughing stock of the internet because some people just wanted to ignore the fact that it was a child and held no empathy for her.
It's really upsetting how people, especially on twitter (no surprise honestly) believe that the father was actually the abusive one in this situation. He tried so hard to keep Tay away from the exploitation and with the claims coming from her brother, who's only goal was to use his sister, it's highly unlikely that they're true.
i have this nagging feeling that they've convinced her that he doesn't love her and gaslit her into believing that they're only ones she can trust. seeing as she's back in their custody, i'm worried that "lil tay" will be making a comeback soon :/
@@nyanthonyDo we even really know if she’s back in her moms custody. I don’t see how she could win it back because she proved to be a horrible parent. Her father has kept Tay offline and not exploited.

Something really depressing about finishing a journalism degree and actually going into the industry was learning how much of news generation these days is just copying other news publications. Not even taking the time to research, let alone get your own sources and accounts. Just reading news from other sources and rewording it as your own, assuming that at some point up stream somebody got the facts right. Partly it's just wanting to be on time with trending topics and algorithms, partly it's the financial hollowing of the industry leaving most publications on a skeleton crew with no money for real interviewers or investigators... I work in healthcare now.
@@raveng8217 the fact that tmz is a more trusted news source than just about any other journalism site is bizarre and dare I say proof we are living in the worst possible timeline 😩
Those fucking vultures treating Claire like she's a prop. I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be for a kid to deal with what must seem like the whole world thinking she's a brat when it's a character her mom and brother made her play act. I'm glad her dad stepped up to protect her. The exploitation she endured is so upsetting.
this is ridiculous and so sad honestly. I think, ultimately, if Lil Tay does come back, and *she's* the one to want to do this, all herself, it should be viewed from the lens of this 100% being a child still and that her actions and views are of someone who's been through a *lot* and may be struggling to come to terms with it all. I mean, she was manipulated, abused, caught in a major court case, and had her *death faked online* and she's only 14-15. she doesn't deserve any of this and if she's still a little ignorant because she's a child, we shouldn't attack her over it
Abusing and using your child for views online is despicable, but let's not forget regular online people are to blame too. If people didn't give her so much attention, maybe things wouldn't be like they are now.
@sewerrat7418 I guess you're talking for yourself, understandably. I'm not saying literally all of us online people are also responsible. I'm saying that there's a reason Lily Tay managed to become famous: because of general online people, who gave her attention and views (mostly to mock her). That's how "interent celebrities" are born. Fortunately there are many sane people who understand this whole Lil Tay situation is basically abuse by her mom&bro and me, and apparently you, are part of those sane people
when d'angelo says someone's "turned out to be one of the sleaziest people i've ever brought up on this channel" you know it's gonna be something extremely fucked up because that title has a lot of competition
Just to imagine what that kid did to his 9 year old sister is disturbing. It made me realize more how lucky I am to have my older brother. Rest in peace Kuya Justin.
lil tay's whole history on the internet is so sad. i rmbr when she was first coming out and everybody was just hating on her. every video, every comment ever covering her was just pure hate and looking back, it was disgusting how everybody dog piled on such a young girl. hearing that she had died actually made me sad but to hear it was fake made me worried, because this proves her exploitation hasn't been put to an end
As a mother I can’t even imagine doing this like she shouldn’t have been on instagram at all let alone posting content and what her mother did is truly disgusting mothers are supposed to protect there kids not throw them to the wolves for money
D'Angelo: I'll give you 3 guesses what "smoking P" refers to. Me: Oh no. D'Angelo: That's right, Methamphetamine. Me: Oh. Oh, that's actually not nearly as bad as I was thinking.
I only knew of Lil Tay in passing, my heart literally breaks for her hearing all that's happened to her in her life, and she's still so young. Mad respect to her dad who protected her and got her out of that situation, her mom and brother should be absolutely disgusted with themselves. Literally how revolting that two grown adults could try to profit off of a child like that.
Her mom saying she’s having a comeback now that she has custody is very troubling. Side note: the set up is perfect! Simple but beautiful. And as always: the fit is fire.
@@1-genuine-wheeze-later-408assuming it's true she's in Mom's custody, since tay is a teenager now, she has the right to contest in court which parent she would want to stay with . If her mom abused her to the point that she thinks she would be better off with her mom then she could bring it to court and the judge would rule in favor of tay going with the mom. Especially since courts have a bias towards the mom and all the mom would have to do is say sorry basically and tay saying she wants to back would seal the deal. Hopefully it's not the case but since he wasn't able to confirm or deny if she's alive she probably isn't in custody, or he was just being weird
Wow. Good on her father for being an actual human being and keeping her out of the spotlight after the exploitation she was subjected to. The poor girl is going to have so much trauma from this added on to what she already has.
As a child abuse survivor with a psychology degree, I come down firmly on the side that Tay's situation (and the majority of family channels) was a case of child abuse. And I really think the term "child abuse" needs to be brought up more when we discuss these situations because these kids are gonna grow up with trauma and with mental health issues, and they desperately need help. And it's sad that Tay's situation has one of the happier endings. Hopefully, Tay's father intervening will have shielded her from a lot of the trauma she might have faced and she'll be able to heal. But even then, POS Harry Singh is there to exploit her likeness for his cryptocoin 🙃💀
it makes me so mad that the mother and brother weren’t held responsible like the mother should fr be in jail and once the brother turned 18 he instantly tried to scam people out of 19,000 ?????? like what is going on. leave this poor girl alone. she deserves to retire permanently in her own place away from everyone and she deserves to do what she wants with her life
I’m so confused as to how her mother had the time to resign before being fired. There’s no way her boss didn’t recognize his own cars and his own clients homes in these massively viral videos. I feel so bad for her and I *know* this death hoax is going to reignite a lot of the same turmoil for her.
If someone at her work gave her a heads up that the boss had come across the videos of course she could resign first. Two weeks notice is a business courtesy on the employee's part. But there is red tape to firing someone on the employer's part. Employer's just don't tend to tell the employee until their last day.
The utter relief I felt upon opening this video and you immediately setting the stage that the video would be focused on the adults instigating and controlling this situation and not Tay herself, whooo.
I literally got push notifications on my phone about her "death. " that's how I found out. I spent a lot of time defending her dad bc ppl were blaming him when he was the one who got her away from her mom and Jason's control and let her live a normal life. I'm glad she is still alive.
I have disabled ALL push notifications, on principle. It makes life less stressful. I decide when to interact with the world, NOT Google, Twitter, or Facebook. ;)
She was and still is a child. From my old perspective, she always broke my heart. Its like a toddler. You know? The one's that cuss, bc they are told to by a parent, older sibling, etc. They parrot what they are told to say. It was evident to me that she was being treated the same way. Coached, told what to say/ do. It didn't seem "natural"... I feel bad for her. .
So sad. Honestly, there’s going to be a whole branch of psychology needed for all the kids who were forced into being content for their parents social media accounts 💔
everyone failed her. not only her family obviously but also it's alarming how many people on the internet were braindead enough to believe a 9 year old was doing this of her own volition, not to mention calling her out on the street. she was NINE.
d’angelo, you should make a video about the rrubeelana situation. she recently started a path on the way to christianity, but during this period of vulnerability she was swept up by a cult-like group and is deleting all socials and abandoned her pets and family. it’s a really sad situation
ngl this is a foul accusation of someone who u truly dont know anything about. blame the parents and the brother for what they DID dont speculate on what they might’ve done bc what they did is wrong enough
I am baffled by the people that were claiming she did this for attention and clout. Um...the girl hasn't been on social media in 5 years. I don't think she's clout hungry. I wish people would leave the poor girl alone
What’s crazy to me is I thought she was older than 14, when she was blowing up she was 9? I thought she was like 12, so my second biggest shock out of all of this is her age lol
So messed up that she’s really never going to be able to live the normal life of a teenager because of what her mother and brother forced her to do as a child. It’s such a big part of kid’s lives these days to connect with each other on the internet, even if it’s just within a smaller circle of friends. But she is NEVER going to be able to have any sort of social media without people finding it and sending her hate. Even if it was just an account to keep up with friends. In this day and age that’s taking away a huge part of socializing as a young person.
the sad fact about this entire thing is that it happens a lot in the industry and this is one of the only cases we might get that has a lot of evidence and there is still not a lot happening to help her :/
I was having a bad day when i heard about her "passing" and i instantly believed it and actually cried lmao. The thought of a child who was exploited and then passed young got to me, im so glad it wasnt true. I hope whoever did it is held accountable
You make a very good point about the vitriol hurled at her then, and now. I had no idea it was THAT bad. I mean, I know as a public figure, people will say messed up stuff about you, but the things that people were/are saying is just horrific. I read a theory once that people can become mentally trapped in the age they are when they achieve success/notoriety. That's why people like Zuckerberg/Musk et al seem to want to remain college guys and behave at a maturity level people expect them to have grown out of. So if we take this as a possibility, and think about the hate being spewed towards a 9 year old, how that would have damaged her, plus the fact she may still be at a lower level of maturity in regards to how she can deal with all this, it just leaves me devastated for her honestly. A childhood is something you can never get back, the people using her forget they had theirs/a more realistic chance at one than they have left her with.
I think abc's approach to their "correction" was actually quite smart. If anyone was linked their original article, it sends them to an article that shows it was not true. It would be ideal to have them come out and say that they were wrong, but I don't think they were intentionally being sneaky - just redirecting attention from their original article with misinformation to the new article that corrects it
every time she comes back to the internet, even not by her choice, i want to hug her. she was so young when this started, she is still so young now. she deserves so much better, because every part of her family is exploiting her.
Oh that video of her brother yelling at her about getting the script right broke my heart. She seemed so sad. I hate her family and I hope her dad is truly the good person he seems to be for her

Child influencers are this generation's child stars, and it's heartbreaking
It’s so crazy because now /everything/ is online, so these kids are put through a speedrun of exploitation and trauma. Not to downplay child stars, they went through hell, but it’s so different from a decade ago; it’s a different type of messed up that we still don’t fully understand.
@@JaraelMoonsilveroh my god, speedrunning the trauma is such a perfect way to put it.
The fact so many people ate up a CHILD acting like that is highly concerning.

Others already said it, but her dad is the only one who cares
I'm not accusing her former manager of the hoax, but he is 100% guilty of being a total clown for promoting cryptocurrency in the year 2023 🥴

Makes me wonder about the mom….she was the one raising him and allowing this.
Could you defend the brother? Maybe, on the grounds that he was a child, and even then that’s some very shaky ground to stand on. However, there is literally no way to defend the mother, who raised both of them and didn’t put a stop to this for extremely petty reasons.

Its actually so crazy how much her family uses her. Its a sad part of the internet, because shes not the only kid this shit happens to
The utter relief I felt upon opening this video and you immediately setting the stage that the video would be focused on the adults instigating and controlling this situation and not Tay herself, whooo.
When I first heard about lil tay's death my brain immediately went "that's fake". What's the internet done too me man, AND I WAS RIGHT!
Oh man I swear there were fake deaths on Twitter all the time!
Same didn't even bat an eye.
yeah I instantly thought it means that the adults are still using her :(
since the gofundme, i just assume any crazy news from liltay is fake tbh
I literally got push notifications on my phone about her "death. " that's how I found out. I spent a lot of time defending her dad bc ppl were blaming him when he was the one who got her away from her mom and Jason's control and let her live a normal life. I'm glad she is still alive.
I have disabled ALL push notifications, on principle. It makes life less stressful. I decide when to interact with the world, NOT Google, Twitter, or Facebook. ;)
I would 100% blame her mother
5:34 I want to cry. You can just tell that all she wants to be loved and to do a “good job”. She deserves a safe and loving family.
This situation was so insane, thank you for covering it!
I like your username, pretty relatable
@@Lemminboy7 Lol thank you
Thank God she at least has a father who cares about her and took action on her behalf to keep her safe. That’s a real father right there
MVP. 👏👏👏
Not me having PTSD from DAngelo’s background reminding of that old jumpscare video of that car driving in the woods. You know the one.
kinda feel like we need an update
She was and still is a child. From my old perspective, she always broke my heart.
Its like a toddler. You know? The one's that cuss, bc they are told to by a parent, older sibling, etc. They parrot what they are told to say. It was evident to me that she was being treated the same way. Coached, told what to say/ do. It didn't seem "natural"...
I feel bad for her. .
I just finished the live and omg my boy D’Angelo hunch was right about the cryptocurrency
I'm pretty sure that she had no idea what she was doing during her 'career'. She just did what she was told to do.
So sad. Honestly, there’s going to be a whole branch of psychology needed for all the kids who were forced into being content for their parents social media accounts 💔
Thank you for addressing the fact that it is most likely not her, but someone older behind these stunts.
everyone failed her. not only her family obviously but also it's alarming how many people on the internet were braindead enough to believe a 9 year old was doing this of her own volition, not to mention calling her out on the street. she was NINE.
She deserves so much better, I hope she’ll get away from the people who exploit her soon
d’angelo, you should make a video about the rrubeelana situation. she recently started a path on the way to christianity, but during this period of vulnerability she was swept up by a cult-like group and is deleting all socials and abandoned her pets and family. it’s a really sad situation
The fit today is just absolutely immaculate
would love to see an update on this with her new Instagram live and allegations against her father
Had this kept going, I wouldn’t be surprised if her brother forced her to be sexualized as she grew older, pretty much becoming her pimp.
I mean I won even blame the brother. Lord knows what their mom does when that camera ain't rolling. Cause he had to learned it somewhere.
@@hao9508he's responsible for his actions, I agree he learned this scummy behavior somewhere
ngl this is a foul accusation of someone who u truly dont know anything about. blame the parents and the brother for what they DID dont speculate on what they might’ve done bc what they did is wrong enough
@@icky7604 Stop trying to play devils advocate.
@@roygbiv9038 You don't seem to know what that phrase means, cause it's precisely what you did! 😅
What shocks me most about this story is not a single Journalist checked or verified a single fact except TMZ. RIP journalism.
Parents of child influencers don’t ruin their child’s professional reputation before the age of 18 challenge🤩🤩
It would be ideal to have them come out and say that they were wrong, but I don't think they were intentionally being sneaky - just redirecting attention from their original article with misinformation to the new article that corrects it
D’Angelo: Harry Singh seems like a pretty decent guy
Also D’Angelo: Harry Singh is one of the sleaziest people ever to be featured on this channel.
Spoilers I guessed lol.
Red herring
I can only imagine what kind of antics her parents are putting her through. 😞
@@Florilegium1 yes ! Right after I watched this video, I decided to research this topic, and found out a lot more. :-)
every time she comes back to the internet, even not by her choice, i want to hug her. she was so young when this started, she is still so young now. she deserves so much better, because every part of her family is exploiting her.
D'Angelo, I just wanted to say that I'm so glad you're back and you're feeling better! I love your content and I'm so happy you're active on yt again
How can the brother accuse the father of the things he’s been doing himself? 😐
finally a parent that saw another Bhad Bhabie in the making and instead of hitting the gas decided to pump the brakes.
Oh that video of her brother yelling at her about getting the script right broke my heart. She seemed so sad. I hate her family and I hope her dad is truly the good person he seems to be for her
My favourite part is when she says that they're living in the hills and it's just... downtown Vancouver...
side note, the music in your videos makes me unsure if im listening to a meditation or a commentary video.. i love it so much
the biggest tragedy of this situation is what tay was put through. i feel so bad for what she had to got through
i live in the neighbourhood she grew up in and her mother was one of my friends real estate agent in like 2015. she scammed my friend and never even ended up selling the house. she didnt even bring in anyone to see the house she didnt do her job what so ever. shes completely insane and i have no doubt she was behind this.
please do a follow up now that she's back!
d'angelo living like a whimsical forest spirit i love it
I really hope she's living a happy good life right now, I'm around her age (I'm a year older) and it's just heartbreaking seeing what she's went through even when I watched the custody battle videos in like 2018 when she should just get to be a kid.
The grammarly sponsorships finally hit D'Angelo's account! Love that you moved into such a beautiful space!
A documentary about lil Tay would have been way more impactful and interesting than The Idol
D'Angelo always slays every look. Work King!
