- Tool-assisted superplay (TAS) of Tapper arcade 52 levels just for fun (NOT a speedrun)
Goal of this TAS:
-Show everything there is to see in the game
Index:
-Dancing Girls: 11:46, 19:05, 22:56, 15:53
-The game getting faster and faster when you try to make the biggest possible score in one level 18:57 (level 42)
-The Bartender get watered by beer 18:50
-The Bartender doing a kind of moonwalk 19:12 (only possible in a TAS)
-See RNG manipulation in action, starting from level 43 at 21:55 (only possible in a TAS)
-Minor graphical glitches, look at the end of almost every level (only possible in a TAS)
Notes:
-Tapper is at 30 fps (at least in Mame)
-Even in a TAS it is not possible to serve beer faster. You have to press the Tap button for 5 frames and release for at least 2 frames. 7 frames at 30 fps = 4.2 beer/sec
It take 8 frames to change bar, you can press up or down from 2 to 9 frames to be optimal.
A good Tapper player should be able to play as fast as this TAS.
-It is possible to generate small graphical glitches.
Double height of beer, beer outside of glass.
Those are near impossible to do in real life. For example: to have double height beer you have to do : 1 frame left or right, 4 frames tap, 1 frame left or right, 4 frames tap, 1 frame left or right
-It is possible (in a TAS) to manipulate the RNG, I do it starting from level 43.
For those levels you will notice that they are all done rapidly.
My goal was not to have slow drinkers.
Each time you press or release a button, you change the rng. So, I just inserted a frame or two in the places where the result was not in my taste.
Rng manipulation is not possible in real life.
Rng manipulation is as if in poker you could change the cards you have in your hand for better ones if you are not satisfied with the hand you have.

He finishes a level faster than it would take to fill one mug of draft beer in real life.
That's actually part of what makes Tapper so enjoyable. It's surprisingly fast paced.

Had the pleasure of playing both Tapper and Root Beer Tapper on actual hardware in my 30 years of life.
THAT SAID.... I couldn't be fast enough to clear third area, on one credit.

The characters are so cute. I had to slow it down to ½ speed to get a good look. The baby alien on the bar is 😂. There was another with similar characters called Domino Man. He tries to set up dominoes but all sort of goofy characters try to knock them down before he can finish. Both were such clever games but I didn’t see them in arcades that often

Few thoughts ran through my mind when watching this.
1. That's a terrible business strategy he didn't get paid once
2. Why was there a bird inside? Or did he throw it through the roof?
3. How did a bird get into space!!
1: Maybe these are all-u-can-drink evenings he is serving at
2: I think he threw it thru the roof into the outer stratosphere and it hit a bird there
3: Aliens abduct all kinds of Earth creatures, why wouldn't they kidnap a bird?

4. If he can’t afford to drop a glass during service, why is it acceptable for him to do the flip and kick trick at the end of his shift when he’s breaking one of the glasses then? (counting the times he does it successfully of course, which tend to be rarer)
Maybe he is paid by customers afterwards
Don't ask questions. Just consume product and get excited for next product.

I remember back in the days when there used to be an arcade game center on Soquel Drive. It's called CAPACADE. They had a cartoon mural of the starship called the X31. The pilot and co-pilot were fighting off the invaders from outer space when their starship X31 was downed.

In Give kudos on the programming from the rom, computer playing, notice the partial fills when it May or may not end the board, and throwing 3-4 when I see one, they come out precise timing, yeah they get to an insane speed trying to score

Is there a kill screen at level 255? (also note that in the Suntory and Root Beer versions the jingles are different compared to the Budweiser one)

So there are 52 levels in all in the entire game? (Don't tell me that the game automatically ended when you lost the bonus round).
No, there is no end for this game as long as you have some life left. I just ended the game when I though the video was long enough.
256 total. After level 256 (level 0 in game) it automatically resets.
The Ps1 version was called root beer tapper.
Most of the ports of this game changed the beer to root beer.
What if...can you finish it through 100 levels? Or even, 256?! Please, go through all of your lives left over until you make 256! I wanna see you top 1 or 2,000,000!

I bet this is how Karens expect bartenders to serve them. Also, there's something adorable about those little red aliens that drink their beer sitting on the counters.
I'm happy Tapper got reskinned as Root Beer Tapper. Root Beer Tapper is much more culture friendly.
I don't like this "make everything polcorrect,cuz childrenz, they can't see beer ZOMG" bullsht. It's not a computer game which makes a heavy drinker out of a man.
@@TheLambdaTeam Tapper was made for adults whereas Root Beer Tapper was made for all ages. In terms of console ports, Root Beer Tapper is the game you will see in Midway Arcade Collections.
