    Another option is to go to Tractor Supply and get you a horse trailer rubber mat which will help with stability and standing. Just cut to fit. Also it will not absorb water and rot like plywood. Just a thought. Next go to Harbor Freight and get you a solid rubber tire dolly and convert it to move the boat around. Several videos on UA-cam showing this too. Thanks for sharing.

    I have the 9 foot pond prowler and I use a trolling motor on the front that I put in the water once I reach my location for the best control and another in the back for driving between locations. I'm soon going to be ordering a 2.2 hp 2stroke gas motor for the rear from AliExpress. It's basically a weedeater motor on a prop shaft. They're cheaper than buying a more powerful trolling motor than what I have on the back currently and I won't have to carry two heavy batteries.

    I put my trolling motor on the front of the boat it seemed like it was easier to handle for me, also upgrade your seats that makes a huge difference if you're out on the water for an extended period of time, my next upgrade I'm looking into is a table that mounts to the same brackets as the seats to go in the middle of the boat, lots of ideas on UA-cam, good luck!

    Get a pressure treated 2x4 and cut it just slightly wider than the boat (maybe 6 inches or so). Lay it flat and screw an eye bolt near each end (so you can hook a strap from the eye bolt, through the rear handles and to the eye bolt on the other side). Now buy a couple of tall lawn mower tires/wheels and screw them to the ends, and you have an axle that straps to the boat! Now you can pick up one end of it, and pull it! Carried mine like that for a couple of years, before I bought a Harbor Freight 4x8 trailer.

    I have a 10 ft raider and I put my 45 lbs minn Kota in the back. So when I stand up I have the whole front of the boat 👌🏽
    Battery in the back and the fish finder sits relatively in the middle. I move it accordingly because it’s mounted to a home made rig rather than directly on the boat to avoid drilling holes in my raider. I loved your video 💪

    You can buy a wheel set or make a leverage device so you dont have to carry it, also you can put plastic strips on the bottom of the boat so you dont scruff it up or poke a hole into it potentially.

    EverStart Maxx Marine Battery, Size 29DC, from Wal-Mart, works best for a Minn Kota 55. That size 27 might work for you if you only plan on short trips. The EverStart Maxx 29DC will run me 8-12 hours on a 14 foot flat back canoe, I run 3 hours UP STREAM to get to my favorite fishing hole. I plan to sell my canoe and buy a 10 foot Bass Raider or Bass Hunter then put 2 EverStart Maxx 29DC's in the boat, one in the back & my spare in the front, being a Disabled American Veteran, rowing would be very hard for me.
    For you Spike pole, you can get galvanized pipe from Home Depot and they will thread it for you, use a "T" at the top to make it easier to pull out of the mud!
    Suggestion: Polyurethane your ply-wood to make it waterproof, then cover it with Anti-Slip paint, truck bed liner paint mixed with walnut shells or AstroTurf.

    • @AtypicalOutdoors
      @AtypicalOutdoors  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the ideals! I will definitely have to upgrade the seats. I decided to put the trolling motor up front.
