Great video and excellent examples. Bells of Ireland give lots of people trouble.. I had a little chuckle when you said you were going to give them their little 15 minutes of fame and purpose in life… For sure! Please don’t worry about the sound or the video the impromptu videos are awesome we don’t mind the little interruptions it’s the information and real time information and advice that we really love and need from you… So anytime you get a chance an impromptu video is always appreciated by us! PS it would’ve killed me to pull those bells also😢

When I thin I replant them and I get probably 8/10 that take after transplanting. Zone 10b here and lots of them self sow by August here. Yes sprouts in triple digits. It is crazy.

Those plants you pulled up really can’t be transplanted? What on earth? Great video. Thank you!

Thanks Lisa, I love your wisdom and sharing. I tried Bells of Ireland last September with failure to germinate. I thought maybe they would germinate in Spring… I did soak them (zone 7B, high desert area). Your plants are gorgeous and give me hope to try again.

Thank you! I love your videos! I just do not understand how you are growing all that in winter! Im in Washington state, 8b sowing seeds inside which is too early! I may not be able to keep all I got germinated alive! Because if there is a frost its just done. I got too excited about see starting...

You can fall plant all the Cool Flowers!!! Cool-season hardy annuals are winter hardy, my book Cool Flowers tells the story--

@@TheGardenersWorkshop the book is awesome and also Danielle from Northland flower farm on you tube talks a lot about Lisa’s book/methods and breaks it down and gives a lot of good information ..that’s how I learned…

My direct sown bells aren't nearly as large as yours (I'm in 8a). Should I fertilize them now?

Last year, my first year trying bells, none germinated. This year, just a few germinated. Now, after listening to Lisa about soaking the seeds, I'm going to try again this fall.

@@melissab5432 it's not the plant that survived but the seeds sprouted from the plants that live in this spot.

I am in zone 8a in high altitude mountains in California. We have had extra snowy years 2'- 3.5' of snow on ground on and off all winter. Do you think I can fall sow my cool flowers like bells of Ireland? So far my perennial phlox and Dianthus over wintered and larkspur babies athoughts. We get snow like this every year.
    What's your thought?
