Hello Brother how are you doing since we last talked? Yeah one of the things I think about is these men could have just deserted the U.S. Army, and disappeared, but no they decided to stay, and fight for Mexico. So to me that speaks volumes of the great spirit of righteousness in the hearts of our San Patricio brothers. Truly GREAT men they were. I am so glad they are celebrated every year not only in Mexico, but also in Ireland. The Irish are a good people. BTW nice pic Bro. Is that a peace pipe tomahawk in your pic? I like pipe/hawks. As a collector of cutlery I have a few hawks similar to the black military/tactical one I have in my pic, but finally I ordered a pipe/hawk the other day. Can't wait till it shows up. Hawks are one of the most underrated tools/cutlery ever, because they are so multi/functional, lightweight, and easy to lug around. Hawks are like a hatchet, knife, climbing pick, billy club, you can hammer things with the side of it etc etc. Yet many seem to prefer a Bowie knife over a hawk when camping, hiking, survival, or whatever. Each to their own I guess. Anyways enough of me babbling on. Have a good 1, and stand tall as always Native Brother.
Thank you Irish for giving Mexicans a hand. Your spirit lives in our culture now with all the cute Mexican redheads☺️ We never forget;anytime anyplace we have your back ☘️ 🌵

Believe Mexicans in Mexico know. They are celebrated every year in Mexico there is plenty of videos here on UA-cam that show it, and demonstrate it. Alot of my fellow American Mexicans, and Irish both who I've talked to know little to nothing about The San Patricios, but it's not really their fault because here in the U.S. they are not taught about. Shit growing up as a kid in school all I was taught in relation to the Mexican/American war was The Alamo, Santa Ana, Jim Bowie, Sam Houston, and that's pretty much it. The Alamo is almost a separate piece of History than the Mexican/American war in a way. Anyways I've seen some fellow Americans insinuate that Mexicans don't care, or don't appreciate the San Patricios, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I'm not saying you are doing that I don't even know if you are American. So don't get me wrong I'm not judging you in any way. I just want to put this out there so that any Irishman, or Woman don't get the idea that we Mexicans, and Mexican/Americans don't care about the San Patricios. ERIN GO BRAGH

It sounds like your father was a great man for teaching you so early in life about The SP Battalion, he must have done a great job raising you overall, because you seem like a really nice/friendly person. Was your father a Professor here in the U.S. or in Mexico? When I taught my Son about the San Patricios about 10 years ago when he was around 7-8 years old he felt the very same strong sense of comradery, and respect for The S.P. Battalion, and for all our Irish Brothers & Sisters in general as I felt when my father taught me about the battalion when I was young. Much RESPECT, and yes may your father always R.I.P.

As an Irish American, I'm ashamed that many of my fellow Irish Americans know little to nothing of this awesome history of solidarity between the Mexican and Irish people. We threw out our history and heritage to become Amerikkkans. But I known he history of my people. Both the Irish and the Mexican people were victims of imperialism and colonialism. I will be teaching my Irish and Puerto Rican children about our _real_ history as colonized people, and teach them that the US is simply the offspring of the British Empire, both of whom are the ideological descendents of Babylon the Great. And Babylon is falling, at last.
The Irish and Mexicans are not so different, they are both good at fighting and drinking, apart from sharing their religion, the flags are similar, both nations lost territory because of their neighbor with red and white stripes that usually have a lot of why they took from the others as much as states united they usually invade and rob other countries
That puts a knot on my throat. And even a weird sensation in my stomach. Our people didn't deserve that much consideration from these Irish man. It was our own internal struggle and it has been ever since.. Yet they gave their lives for the cause. There's no way to repay them back but to honor their story and value their decendants' good character.

Ireland forever in our hearts ! ☘️ ❤ 🇮🇪 🫶 🇲🇽
Thank you Irish for giving Mexicans a hand. Your spirit lives in our culture now with all the cute Mexican redheads☺️ We never forget;anytime anyplace we have your back ☘️ 🌵

I’ve been on this earth for 30+ yrs and just found out about this. Just wow... absolutely beautiful history.
These men are more Mexican then some of us. Fighting for what you believe in, that’s something any man can respect and honor. Thank you Dublin thank you Ireland 🇮🇪.
I'm half Mexican and despite most of my mom's family who looks indigenous we have a lot of relatives including my Grandma and cousins with red hair probably from the saint Patrick's battalion. 🇮🇪 I'm a day late by happy saint Patrick's day🇮🇪 from a chatolic brother
What movie was the footage in this video from? It was very moving, and so was Mr. Rovics song.
One Man's héro
every Mexican I work with never heard of the san patricios Battalion so sad
My father (RIP) was a professor of history of Mexico and he told me since I was a child of 5 years old the history of the "Saint Patrick's Battalion".
CrisipodeSoli Bless You, and Your Father.
Much RESPECT, and yes may your father always R.I.P.
sergio castillo Hi Sergio: My father was a professor of history here in Mexico. I remember that he told me that there were political pressures (and I believe that there are still) to not divulge too much the history of The Saint Patrick's Battalion here in Mexico. Greetings from Mexico City.
need to ask to a Mexican living in Mexico. A lot of people knows about them. september 12 and march 17 are theirs, we remember them.
Love the Irish im mexican thank you to our fellow catholic brothers for giving there life to fight for freedom , MY FAVORITE EUROPEAN COUNTRY VIVA IRELAND!!
I am not irish nor mexican but my tears fell when they lost and part of mexico was taken by the us. The story of famine in ireland brought me here, deep respect to those who died for freedom and fight the unjust, from me the fellow catholic. Greetings from Indonesia.

I love this song honestly. It doesn't have a pretty tone, but it's raw and real just like the story he's singing about.

🇲🇽❤🇮🇪
Thank you so much to the Irish men of that brigade I'm Mexican and this brings a tear to my eye true honorable warrior
Irlanda siempre estuvo de nuestro lado, en toda suramericana siempre estuvieron los irlandeses peleando de nuestro lado, por la libertad. Arriba Irlanda y arriba America Latina Unida
Beautiful, David. ;)
LONG LIVE IRELAND
&
VIVA MEXICO
🇨🇮🇲🇽✊🏽✊🏻
The Irish and Mexicans are not so different, they are both good at fighting and drinking, apart from sharing their religion, the flags are similar, both nations lost territory because of their neighbor with red and white stripes that usually have a lot of why they took from the others as much as states united they usually invade and rob other countries
🇲🇽❤️🇮🇪 beautiful just beautiful

Called one mans hero!
Vivan mis hermanos irlandeses ☘️💚🤍❤️forever grateful
Viva Mexico 🇲🇽💪 Much love from Ireland 💚
That puts a knot on my throat. And even a weird sensation in my stomach. Our people didn't deserve that much consideration from these Irish man. It was our own internal struggle and it has been ever since.. Yet they gave their lives for the cause. There's no way to repay them back but to honor their story and value their decendants' good character.
Dude..my god..u just literally made my fucking cry with this song!....only if that many million mexicans knew exacly what those great warriors from not just ireland but also french germans went thru fighting for a country that wanst theire gave their lives for a country that wanst thiers. my truly respect for john riley-Juan reley they called him!
