- Following a quick tutorial I made for a subscriber I thought it would be fun to use the 4 patterns for a 90's style techno track.
Everything is overdriven apart from cymbals, hats and the S-1 Tweak synth.
S-1 Tweak synth is using it's own delay & reverb.
The first TD-3 to play has a Blues Driver 2W pedal on it cranked up to maximum.
The second TD-3 has its internal distortion switched on at max settings and is going through a Zoom MS-70CDR pedal for reverb and 30% Ping Pong Delay FX on the Mackie mixer.
Couple of cheeky vocal samples in there for maximum early 90's authenticity :-)
No post processing or FX - Just recorded into Live, normalized and exported.
Fucking banging🎉
👍👍👍👍👍
SHIT !!! I MISSED THIS ONE,,, PROPER BANGIN OLD SCHOOL TECHNO !!!!😜😜👹👹👍 I LOVE That Negative Effect your getting with your video, I wish I knew how to get effects on my Cannon eos 🥺jaffa
Awesome track!
Nice! 👍
Thank you 😁
What a banger, love the fast high energy flow 👍
in the '90s, you could get that sound with much simpler equipment.
I don't doubt that for one minute, they reckon the original Mackie mixers were great if you cranked up the gain
Cool Bro.
If you are in to 90's techno have a look around for some 90's multi-effects units. I found them the best way to recreate that raw gritty soundscape those mid 90's tracks have by putting them end of chain. It was kind of the end of the hardware wars before computers took over, lots of analog but also the digital still has a usable but vintage character to it and the bit rates/bandwidths are still good, stuff from about ~1995 is the best. I have three units that are worth a look. The Boss SE-70, Ensoniq DP/4 and a Yamaha Pro R3.
That is solid advice, thanks for that 👍
I'm considering getting an old Alesis Midverb / Quadraverb as well. The only issue I have is my setup isn't static & I don't have any rack space so I'd have to get creative
@@Alpha-DX the SE-70 is small (1/2 rack) has anolog drive and distortion circuts (you can hear them on stuff like Prodigy SMBU).
The qudraverb has character but is a bit one trick. Nice to have in a rack, maybe not as universal as the SE-70 (I'm likely biased) that has every mid 90's Boss pedal algo inside. I think you can chain up to 16 effects inside but I normally go for less than a handfull including some eq & compression.
Just be prepared for some background noise on older gear (except the Yamaha ProR3).
@@FlynnTaggart23Brilliant, I'll definitely check this out ! Thank you for the advice, it's greatly appreciated 👍👍👍
