Nice haul! I can sympathize on parts prices, especially now that I joined the Kuhn rotary rake club. $1000 for a CV joint on the PTO. Just outrageous. Glad you got that welded, fingers super crossed it holds up well for you. (Oh, and nice shoe goo trick! We have a running joke at our house with how many things we’ve “fixed” with it 😂. Growing up we had a 5600 Ford and it’s a fantastic tractor. Now I have a 5610 and it’s even better. Long story short if you ever come across one it would be a night and day difference replacement for the Case.
nice hay there , be great for calves too i think , unbelievable that price for the part for your rake its just we are being ripped off for some of this stuff , yet your good old new holland rake still going strong , i know it does not do such a nice job but it works , and your friend there that fixed the fuel trouble that the kind of friend we all need that can fix things , what a star he is , some nice green hay like that makes it worth wile
Forget that shoe goop. Use contact cement ( Barge, Weldwood, Master) , it is 10 times stronger (which is why cobblers use it and never shoe goop) and much less messy. Now...down to the tire store for a new tire.
You need to look into the Plantain. It has medicinal value and good protein for your cows. I also raise grass finished British Whites. They could also be a very good family milk cow giving 2.5 to 3 gallons away with 25% butter fat.
'$5 a bale, nothing too crazy' How I wish I could move mine at that price right now. Around here, people have been flooding the market with hay priced at $2/bale. Most of what I've sold so far is some alfalfa/orchard grass mix that I priced at $2/bale only due to it getting an inch of rain 3 days after I mowed it.
1700 for that i can one up you this farmer we know lost the iron plate on the bottom of his haybine which is the same as ours. The iron plate is a tiny 8 inch plate....... they wanted five grand for a new iron plate that is only like 40 dollars worth of iron
How qbout Putting 2 new Firestone tires on q Tractor Bring it home new day fight side FLAT bead leak, back to tire shop, install tubes both tires, back home bushogged 2 acres... right side Flat again hired loca;l guy broke tire down patched tube... 2 days later flat again,,,, Broke ot down, local tire man said rusty rim as holing tube sanded rim painted rim with 2 coats of automotive self etching quick dry primer..... plus new tube 2 days still holding Air..... If 20 acres stresses you how about 200 acres laid down in 2 cuts apart

That hay will be money in the bank.
If in a pintch with that rake you can use a pick-up ,the rake hooked to the case when had the carburetor cleaned out.
I had the same rake and have the same issue switched to an H&S because I have a lot of H&S equipment I’ll never switch back
