- EDIT! The following morning I started it up and noticed the distinct volume and pitch change. It is worth the minimal effort for a better sounding exhaust. At the very least it'll put off the urge to buy a new slip on and save yourself a few hundred dollars.
I did this the first month I bought my 790R last year (along with almost every other bike I've owned with a riveted can). Also did a cat-delete and it's been awesome. Barks pretty loud, have over 10k on it now and I love it.
Thanks for the video...did you use the same rivets at the end? How did you replace them?
I bought a blind fastener tool at Harbor Freight. It came with rivets. It was only $8.
Nice clip 🙂what have used to secure your phone please?
Great video. Just on the Oxford heated grips, did you fit them yourself ? Direct to battery ? Any issues ? Kind regards. Geoff. NZ.
I did fit them myself. It is wired direct to battery. The only thing you have to do special is grind the nubs off the stock throttle tube. I went with the Oxford for 2 reasons. They were cheaper than the KTM grips and they were available. At the time, KTM grips were 5 months out for delivery. A bonus, I found these to work better.
@@Gamet36 thanks for your response, much appreciated. I've had Oxfords on several bikes, arguably better than most factory stuff. Stay safe. Best regards. Geoff NZ.
What if just make holes to that pipe?
Dunno....It could work.
What bracket is holding your phone?
Ram mount.
what size rivet did you use when reinstalling?
3/16" though I'm sure it should've been metric of some sort.
What screen are you running?
Stock scrren with a cheap amazon extension. Motoparty Motorcycle Windshield Extension - Universal Adjustable Clip-on Extender for Kawasaki Yamaha Buell Ducati. It was $40.
What is the device on the left side of your handlebars?
Oxford heated grips control box. The KTM heated grips were 3 to 6 months out. I've had oxford on all my other bikes so went with those instead.
