The instructor is right. It’s very important Erin sees what mistakes she’s making, and understands them. Then learn from them all. Erin really needs to keep checking her mirrors whilst driving being aware what's around her. Slowing down moving to different lanes. It has to be done. It will keep you safe and others.
@@IloveAliBromley Anyone who has this mindset is not going to be at a standard to pass the test. She needs to up her game to, I am as safe as anyone on the road irrespective of my current licence status.

It's so nice to hear your emphasis on zebra crossings. I've had experiences before where I was at the crossing and was in the right to cross but took an extra second because there was a car coming. They drove right past it. If I hadn't had hesitated, they'd have hit me. So I always do that annoying thing of waiting until a car has stopped (even if it's a little in the distance and I could technically begin crossing before) because I've had experiences where I might have been killed
I've checked the highway code on this one, I guess it falls on both the pedestrian and driver to wait until situation safe? Some drivers may be too close to crossing to stop safely. Rule 19 Zebra crossings. Give traffic plenty of time to see you and to stop before you start to cross. Vehicles will need more time when the road is slippery. Wait until traffic has stopped from both directions or the road is clear before crossing. Remember that traffic does not have to stop until someone has moved onto the crossing. Drivers and riders should give way to pedestrians waiting to cross and MUST give way to pedestrians on a zebra crossing (see Rule H2). Keep looking both ways, and listening, in case a driver or rider has not seen you and attempts to overtake a vehicle that has stopped.
If she was going to be like someone's mum, she would be white-knuckle gripping the Jesus handles and screeching at you when you hit a terrifying 29mph in a 30 limit.

Her mirrors, hazard perception, and braking need a lot of work. She's definitely more confident now but a bit too chilled lol. Does she have a test booked?
Okay, so Erin made the decision to show up to the driving lesson with only 2 hours of sleep. That is to me A Big Serious Fault. The lack of sleep reduces her awareness and the ability to think properly while on the road. Just listen to her not really trying to answer amans questions WHILE driving....too much to process due to lack of sleep. And I could see Amans reaction when Erin openly admitted that she only slept 2 hours that day. Bad decision making, bad planning before taking the wheel.....therefore you're not capable of driving, due to lack of sleep you are a danger to yourself and others around you. And also, even if Aman has an extra set of pedals on her side,.....she was put in danger as well. I wish for Erin to succeed of course, but also needs to get her shit together.
Definitely confident, but it seems to be teetering on arrogance sometimes, she's still young I guess. I'm sure she will have a humbling experience one day then her respect and understanding of responsibility when driving will hopefully be on point.

personally, the moment she said shed had 2 hours sleep the lesson would have been terminated. no questions. instead of prompting ask her questions, which mirrors to pass the parked cars? what are you going to do about the roadworks, what should yor position be to deal with the parked cas? etc?
A lot of learners are reckless because they don't have enough experience to understand why they need to be more careful. It will come with time, and it's good for them to make the mistakes in a safe environment with somebody who can stop the car if need be.
Yeah, I'm really impressed how confident and decisive has Erin's driving become compared to the beginnings. Especially with her generally very chilled demeanor, you might think it would take her a while to be ready to take positive decisions, but she's become so good and natural at that. Well, perhaps a little too unperturbed even, at times :) -- but I'm sure it's actually the much better attitude to be a little ignorant of the potential risks in the beginning: way preferable to having to gradually overcome a constant anxiety. You can train yourself to be "intellectually" cognisant of the hazards and react to them in a procedural sort of manner then. Awesome progress, good job! PS Aman, what an effort to embed subtitles on the video, wow! That must be quite a lot of extra work.
I feel like Erin is at that point in her learning arc in which you have to take the reduction to a series of steps which seem to work in every situation the instructor gives you on your first lessons, take it with a grain of salt, and start inserting conditionals in between the steps and assessing by yourself when to apply what.
5:40 In South Africa many of the drivers treat the green light as "Go" and the yellow light as "Go faster". So many people have died on our South African roads because of this.
Another nice video ………. I feel concerning Erin she needs just a bit more of that missing ingredient which is confidence when approaching small hazards rather than rushing through to get past that situation. Once Erin get’s into the habit of slowing down at hazards she will feel a whole lot better and her confidence will build that much better ❤
It’s not really that funny, it just shows a negative attitude the whole time. Wow. Just wow. ;) In several cases, my driving instructor would have slammed on the breakes and get the car to a full stop. Just to startle me up. Escpecially at the pedestrian crossings.(for a good reason, ofc) But then again, my driving intructor got a ticket for speeding during a lesson, while I was driving. Greetings from Germany. Driving in the UK looks like hell from a german perspective.. ;)
"I'm not too busy to have regular lessons, she's not too busy to take regular lessons, but we can't manage our availability" ....that doesn't make any sense to me
Nope I would’ve terminated the lesson as soon as she said she didn’t get a goodnight kip would you let her operate a crane if she told you that? 2 tonne car is dangerous in the wrong hands specially hands of sleepy people… she wasn’t listening it was going in and out the other ear…
she’s improved so much but i feel she’s too comfortable with you as the relationship is more like friends than teacher student. the strictness isn’t there and she’s slacking which is causing her to drive dangerously 😩
Oh Erin! there were some good bits and some blooming scary bits, you almost demolished all those lovely pink barriers, Aman spent a lot of money on those after I said how nice the pink double yellow lines are!! Bit more mirror work, scan and plan and take it a bit easier in those tight spots. You had some naughty drivers too, they don't help. Keep going you'll get there.
this is so different than a direct access. i got told to only use my brakes when i am coming to a stop. as for ped crossings, they said "if they are walking regardless of how close, get ready to stop without stopping - observation, readiness and patience is key to safely ride a motorcycle" as for when the instructor said "dont pull to the left" or whatever it was when the motorcycle was coming the opposite direction. by law, if there is a tight squeeze, car and other non-motorcycle traffic, is to give at least a gap of 1.5 metres so said motorcycle can safely pass. cars are stable, motorcycles are not. there could be something in the road which forces us to go around it, be it a pothole or something that can seriously destabilise the bike. so by definition, erin was correct to pull over as much as possible to give the motorcycle an escape route. certainly not a bad instructor, i cant fault her for anything else besides what was mentioned above
If you need her to slow down passing cars, then you need to apply the brake for her until she realises it's dangerous. If a person were to step out, you'll be responsible for the lack of action. It's like her attitude is, "I'll do whatever I want, I'm a learner." Your attitude is, "You've done a mistake, and I'm giving you a gentle reminder." Repeat mistakes become a serious and sometimes dangerous mistake.
How unutterably sweet is Erin? She will do absolutely fine. 20 years of bumbs anbd scrapes ahead - but she's essentially ready. Also I knew all those streets lived there 20 years.
The "its basically green" comment is very annoying to me. Dont get me wrong ive deliberately ran a few ambers in my time, but as a learner she shouldnt even have that thought process. Amber =/= basically green if its on its way to red, if anything its basically red, not green. Its a dangerous way to think, especially on roads like these & cross roads. Like theres one about 1 min down the road from where i live, and people constsntly run the ambers becsuse of this kind of thinking, and numerous times people have been wiped out because its a blind cross roads with traffic light controls. It isnt worth the risk sometimes, especially where you cant see/theres more than one set of lights
Also I can understand as a learner you might want to do things that your instructor is telling you not to do, ie don't move left. But your instructor is way more spatially aware of the car you're driving and has way more knowledge of roads than you do. Blind faith is good in this situation because you have no idea and they do!!!
I do actually think shes taking it seriously, she just laughs or banters her way out of bad situations to keep her mood positive, when you start feeling negative its easy to snowball!
I'm not sure the car she snicks after passing oncoming traffic too closely will see it that way
she seems a bit nervous but is putting on a brave face by smiling and laughing
That's true
Laughing is a coping mechanism, it comes off as unserious but we're just stressed and trying to make light of it 😭
Well I mean the instructor seems quite jokey about it aswell, I think if I was in that situation I'd be sort of autmoatically matching the reaction

In several cases, my driving instructor would have slammed on the breakes and get the car to a full stop. Just to startle me up. Escpecially at the pedestrian crossings.(for a good reason, ofc)
But then again, my driving intructor got a ticket for speeding during a lesson, while I was driving.
Greetings from Germany. Driving in the UK looks like hell from a german perspective.. ;)
"I'm not too busy to have regular lessons, she's not too busy to take regular lessons, but we can't manage our availability" ....that doesn't make any sense to me
when the instructor as a free slot the girl can be at work, when the girl has a free hour the instructor can be booked, it's not that difficult.
Nope I would’ve terminated the lesson as soon as she said she didn’t get a goodnight kip would you let her operate a crane if she told you that? 2 tonne car is dangerous in the wrong hands specially hands of sleepy people… she wasn’t listening it was going in and out the other ear…
noo i can’t when she started scanning that crossing like that😂
Erin could probably drive well in India. In India people rush in yellow signal as if there is no tomorrow
Alot of work to be done speeding over zebra crossing no awareness and planning traffic lights was poor thanks for the video aman ❤❤❤
About to get in the car for my driving test 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 I’ve been binging your videos wish me luck
Good luck!! Drive safe
Hope it goes well
Hope you passed?
@@ClearviewDriving 🤩🤩🤩 thank you
@@ClearviewDriving I passed with 3 minors 💐💐💐💐
Couldn’t have done it without your videos
@@Ashdenturella brilliant well done! 🤩
11:41 dangerous 44tons just pulling out in front of you. Should have his licence revoked
4:15 I would say its on the pedestrian to stop halfway and look.
she’s improved so much but i feel she’s too comfortable with you as the relationship is more like friends than teacher student. the strictness isn’t there and she’s slacking which is causing her to drive dangerously 😩
But if she can't handle that in her lessons, how would she drive well with her actual friends who she's a lot more comfortable with
Even though I’m not from this country, I like watching it
I think she’s doing well bless her it’s not easy learning to drive x 💃🏻
I’m at the same point as you and I also laugh when I’m stressed so I don’t cry haha🥲
Hahha 😭 Erin’s the funniest, she’s coming along
@@ClearviewDrivingund PhilippeBarz für immer zusammen ❤️❤️💋🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Oh Erin! there were some good bits and some blooming scary bits, you almost demolished all those lovely pink barriers, Aman spent a lot of money on those after I said how nice the pink double yellow lines are!! Bit more mirror work, scan and plan and take it a bit easier in those tight spots. You had some naughty drivers too, they don't help. Keep going you'll get there.
this is so different than a direct access. i got told to only use my brakes when i am coming to a stop. as for ped crossings, they said "if they are walking regardless of how close, get ready to stop without stopping - observation, readiness and patience is key to safely ride a motorcycle"
as for when the instructor said "dont pull to the left" or whatever it was when the motorcycle was coming the opposite direction. by law, if there is a tight squeeze, car and other non-motorcycle traffic, is to give at least a gap of 1.5 metres so said motorcycle can safely pass. cars are stable, motorcycles are not. there could be something in the road which forces us to go around it, be it a pothole or something that can seriously destabilise the bike. so by definition, erin was correct to pull over as much as possible to give the motorcycle an escape route.
certainly not a bad instructor, i cant fault her for anything else besides what was mentioned above
If you need her to slow down passing cars, then you need to apply the brake for her until she realises it's dangerous.
If a person were to step out, you'll be responsible for the lack of action.
It's like her attitude is, "I'll do whatever I want, I'm a learner."
Your attitude is, "You've done a mistake, and I'm giving you a gentle reminder."
Repeat mistakes become a serious and sometimes dangerous mistake.
I've got my license for like 8 years now, yet i keep watching these. It must be beautiful aman, good energy!
Erin is funny, pretty as well, love her😊

-"if they still can't fit through, what do we do then?"
-"Cry"
😆I can relate😭
- what we are looking for in that mirror?
- don't know, myself
Erin, you are the best :-)
