using horns in India isn't just to warn people. It's more like a way of communicating with each other while driving to avoid hazards
You can always use the dipper and signals and gestures. Horns are usually meant to warn people
@@sabsain2399do you live in India?
@@piyushhmusic no..?
@@sabsain2399 lmao then you cant really speak on behalf of us if you dont know how driving is like here. no one cares about indicators and dipper.
@@piyushhmusic using horn would disturb the peace of people living nearby, thats why its reserved for dangerous situations only. People who dont care about indicators should have their licence revoked
Manual transmission + Indian roads = Deadly combination ❤
Automatic transmission + Indian Roads = Amature Kid drivers 😛 (No Offence)
You could add one more thing there + drivers without testes ☕️
@@danishverma187 automatic is literally scooty just race and brake🤣but both are great in its own place.
I wonder how many Indians are run over per day.
Automatic are a good option for bynper to bynper traffic
Next time I'm feeling stressed while driving in the UK I'm going to remember this video for a little perspective 😂
Definitely! With my cautious nature I think I would never dare to drive a car if I was living in India/country with similar driving environment.
😂😂
Driving in India It's different in every state. Some States follow traffic rules some state don't.
It took me such a big mindset change to drive in the UK after driving in India
Foot on clutch all the time is not good for your clutch plate.
Ive been driving in India for 8 years. Your sister is the driver we curse at 😂
Yes exactly
True AF 😂
Very True
Genuine question, what was she doing wrong? I really couldn't tell from all the chaos 😂
this is so real
This gonna sound a bit odd, but seeing you and your sister driving in the countryside of India reminded me of my time living in China's countryside, it's bring back a lot of pleasant memories of a simpler time of my life. Thank you for the video
how’s driving over there?
Yeah, turns out we’re all humans living on the same planet so don’t be racist
This was incredible 😂 Aman we need to see you attempt driving in India!
I don't think its a good idea
Best idea hai
we need Aman to return home lol
@@sandeepparke2397 Indians cannot drive anywhere in the world. They can barely drive in their own country let alone one with rules
@Henry big man. Let me explain you. Most of the indian drive in usa, Australia, UK, Europe, you can see them. They pass their test and get the license and drive. But other countries people can't drive in INDIA. In India you need a special skill and big heart to drive. And yes road accident happens every where in the world. You get me.
She definitely hits the horn more than anyone in India
Yeah too much horn usage
Yeah this is rash driving for any standards. Talk all bad about Indian traffic and gosh no one drives this hard way. Aman is much right in asking to signal and drive slow and show how to follow rules..
No doubt
She is driving in a wrong way specially in roundabouts ,nobody is driving like her in India......wrong message she giving
FInally, someone I can agree with. The horn usage was definitely excessively aggressive and the her approach to the roundabouts was wrong too... incorrect methods...
I literally couldn't stop laughing this entire video. You and your sister are like chalk and cheese, great chemistry. You were sitting panicking and she was just calm as cucumber. Love it hahaha
Oh no.

Yeah it was nice seeing her bounce of a family member that she is comfortable around. They should do driving videos in London together.
It's India dude we don't have much restriction as like your 🤣
Your sister used the horn more times in this video than I have in 22 years of driving 😂
Yeah, at first I thought it was kinda necessary but then as soon as she entered the 1st highway of the video, she just honked at everything... I assume she must also honks at tree in front of her because it moves in breeze while she's driving 😭🤣.
The most important thing you need to drive in india is Intuition :) You should know where the vehicle in front of you will move even before the driver of that vehicle
Yeah, uneducated doofuses dont know that an indicator exists on a car!
I drive in India and usually don't use horns. It isn't mandatory. Just be confident, maintain some distance, observe the movement of the person you are overtaking and you are good to go.
Yes, it was annoying. It was like let me pass vibe.
Lavdasur I drive from Thane to Bandra and its a shit life ....I USE HORN ,I have to and I do Press others while driving because if i don't ....i get dominated.
_thats India basically, attack or get eaten_🥲
She apparently didn't pass the vibe check
Not honking can be dangerous. It's not like honking itself is necessarily bad. It's seen as an insult in YS and UK, but not in our country. Were just talking. There's traffic laws and then there's rules of the road.
I swear this happened to me last month. I was moving through neighborhood narrow roads with cross lanes, I did the usual, slow down, honk thought nobody was there, pulled out (ok my bike), then a fucking Bajaj chetak aunty hit me. I was going maybe 20kph, she was faster still was blaming me, almost broke my finger. So HONK! especially if you drive an EV.
@@mayb8876 Bro I'm not saying we should not horn, we should use horn but not like she is using in this video.

One of my cousins went aborad with a PR there only 2-3 years ago and when he came back to visit us, he was like why do we allow shops in residential areas in India and why it's not a good idea. Then I had to remind him that he wasn't born and brought up in Canada, it's only been like 2 years since he's been there and that too after he turned 35 years old.🤣😅

Driving in India is fun, its like a no strings attached feeling only if you stay in your limits and have a good on road experience. It is what it is and there should be no shame about it.
On top of that we are driving manual , that takes the whole game to a different level.

I have driven for 7 years in India before moving to UK. Took 4 driving lessons, saw few driving videos and cleared my driving test in first attempt in Bletchley.
Here is my two cent from my own experience which is relevant more for India.
1. Be a good driver wherever you are, I was a law obeying, patient and safe driver in India as well.
2. Don't honk unnecessarily, I haven't done that in India either, for example where Gurjinder honked 2-3 times on a cyclist or tuk tuk, I would probably just hint once of my presence and be very brief to not irritate them, that is only if I suspect they haven't seen me or they keep driving in middle of the road.
3. Be extra careful on roads if you have children and elderly, freeze if they start moving around you in crowded area.
4. Be kind to others, try to give way, don't honk on pedestrians or cyclists and always remember that you were and will be there too.
🙂🙂🙂
You sound sweet bless your soul ❤
Wow, we need more people like you in India
Amans concentration level increases 100 times more after coming back from India😂😂
Thanks for the ride. Really interesting to sit and watch rural and small town India; a place you don't see often.

Idk io just really just your channel and your work. Its so digestible and as a viewer I'd love to see more clever driving based videos
That's the value of life in India on roads. And I'm amazed of that man thinking driving above speed limit is bravery. Hats off to my countrymen ✅
stupidity
Gurjinder too is part of the problem, she is a driving instructor. If she doesn't follow the rules how will everyone else.
@@ToThoseWhoGotHurtByMeIAMSORRY do you think people who got license by giving 500_1000 will learn etiquette, just by watching a single car. She was right here

Your sister knows how to drive in India perfectly .
You know you're in India when the car ahead is turning left with the indicator to turn right blinking.
thats so scary
That's probably an aunty
that was rare to find and must be a new lady driver do that.
"Just enjoy" is both a lovely and mental approach to driving. 😂
Well i m civil engineer here in India and according to IRC (Indian road congress) road of village on different terrain are designed for different limits but in general on plane terrain road is designed for speed of 50kmph for village roads i hope this helped you to know the speed limits here in India ☺️☺️☺️ all the best
Out here 50 is normal but in a residential area it's 30. In a school zone 15-20 depending on how the road is.
I passed my driving test first time Friday with 0 faults. Thank you for your videos they have helped a lot!
You are passed so now.. so learn now how to ride after license watching this one😂😂

Driving in India is like a big task ,normally people don't think there is rules and regulations while driving .
She drove perfectly, according to all Indian standards . A perfect example of indian smooth driving
These are the couple of things needed to drive safely in India.
1. A ton of patience.
2. 180 degree vision, you need to constantly move your head to scan the traffic ahead and on the sides. One cannot rely just on the side mirrors.
3. Anticipate the next movement of the biker, pedestrian, animals or four wheelers around you 😆. Never expect everyone to put indicators while taking turns.
4. Always expect someone to jump the signal on the crossings, hence make generous use of your horns.
5. Very good judgement of your vehicles front bonnet. Its very useful during navigating through narrow lanes.
This video is vital. It tips us on how cautious we should be driving in tight situations like the one featured in this video.
This was really fun to watch, your sister was super chill throughout. Seeing this reminds me of Jeremy Clarkson's definition of Indian road/traffic which stated Indian roads as a "large scale demonstration of Brownian motion, The chaos theory on wheels where almost none of the participants are trained". Can't wait to see Aman's turn to drive on these roads.
lmao 😂😂
we can have 6lane roads and there will still be chaotic traffic... because we are so much in population and no one gives a Shiet about anyone .....I'm guessing we already have surpassed China (Indian continent+NRI indians)
The Top Gear India Special was absolutely bonkers. Some of the driving and traffic conditions were truly insane and I cannot imagine what that must be like for real.

Wow, this is crazy! It would be really interesting if Aman could redo this video in her "mock test" style with some narration and commentary, and see how many serious and dangerous faults Gurjinder commits, based on the standards of the GB driving test.
The test would be terminated due to it being unsafe 😅
you are never going to get anywhere and people behind gonna beep horn at you telling you to get out of the way because clearly there's one inch of space according to them to squeeze through!
I learned to drive when i was 10. I didn`t know the rules until i went to driving school at my 19.
Every time i look at India video of traffic, i'm reminded of my driving before i learned the rules and how much of a moving hazard i really was.
I understand the need for independence, but stubbornness can be madness.
Stay safe, God bless you.

Hi Aman. Thanks for sharing your driving experience as a passenger on Indian roads. Your driver sister Gurjinder knows best. It might be interesting to find out how your sister copes driving on UK roads? Enjoy your vacation !!!
I lived in India for years I was scared at first but strangely it works! Intuition the horn unspoken understanding...I miss India and the crazy roads 😮

Oh yes, this is the video we've been waiting for! Can't wait to watch later :)
When your sister was driving through the market area my gosh! I swear you have to be fearless to drive in such conditions. I think I appreciate our roads a lot better now for sure
It’s normal for us Indians to drive on such roads with no rules at all. In the UK, I feel bloody stressed out following each and single rule where you can’t enjoy free style driving but just follow the road rules. You can’t focus on enjoying the driving but focus on road rules.
@kazss2651 These rules and people following them make the traffic flow smoth because mostly everyone knows what needs to be done. It's calming and safe because there is order to it unlike this chaos here where you can't relax because you need watch like a hawk and just honk like maniac.
You are not thinking about the rules when you drive a lot it just comes naturally and there is no stress about it. If you are new driver or never learned rules to confident degree then it can be harder and stressful but after you gain experience you are chill. In such scenario as it's presented in video you can't be chill and relaxed.
Go on a race track if you want "free style" driving.
Speed Limit in India is a concept not a rule! In India, we are told to aim for the sky. God Speed!!!
this is my kind of driving! everyone drives with confidence and doesn't hesitate its fantastic, wish the UK got taught sort of like this but keeping to the rules haha

Be good to see the Indian driving test!
I’ve travelled in India for a month and it was definitely an experience being in a car! I wouldn’t have attempted to drive myself tho! Too scary!
This was wonderfully fun and interesting! It's one thing to even see that sort of thing as a several seconds' cut in a general documentary film, and quite another to be able to watch longer reels of continuous driving. I kind of expected people to treat traffic rules "liberally", but I still found it surprising that there were no official speed limits or, at least, that people wouldn't know what they are. Even the local people!
You won't find many sign boards in India, usually the iron/steel mafia will cut it down and sell it as scrap that's why it's not that common to find sign boards here and thus people won't know much about the speed limits
The only place where the speed limits are enforced are on Expressways
You seems to me an Indian , but couldn't realize earlier, India di kuri UK ch ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ..feel proud 👍👍👍😊

Really fun watching this video.. Indian roads and traffic are quite challenging..I really like your expressions..now became a fan of you and your videos
Btw just wanna tell u , CHOWK is nothing but ROUND-ABOUT , it’s the same thing. In big cities or districts everybody follows the round about. Chandigarh is the good example, jalandhar etc
Well that was pretty hectic but your sister was very relaxed, as someone else said. The clip where you said "well maybe you should teach them how to do it the right way" or something now makes sense, now that I know she is an instructor also :) I don't think I'd be able to drive there either, but I''m just returning to driving again here in the UK after 3 years of not driving much at all.
Had my first solo drive since late 2019 earlier this week to go get my new car checked at some local places and had to drive down the narrow high street roads. It was really busy and so I did not choose the best places to park (didn't have much choice) and so I had to get someone to spot me, otherwise at one point I would have been blindly reversing onto a road and there was lots of pedestrians that you can't see either until you're part way reversing. Quite nerve-racking as it's basically a new car and my first drive in 3 years on my own lol

When driving in India, forget about the western standards of driving, safety, etc.
It's a Rhythmic chaos, all you need to do is be a part of it and watch out for yourself (just don't ever forget the seatbelts), you'll be fine safe and sound. Everyone seems to be crashing but nobody will crash cuz they are all part of that road rhythm.
It's, nice to see you and your sister, together side by side driving in India.🐦
22:03 "It's because they hear it so often that you're numb to it"
Yes, this was what I was thinking. If the horn sounds are just constant, then the horn basically loses its effect, and the rule/convention of using the horn for everything is just counter productive.
This was like a hazard and perception final boss level
Your sister is right. If you care about the rules you are not going anywhere and will never reach your destination on time. There is a saying that a person who can drive on Indian roads can drive on any other country with ease.
What a thrill ride 😂 I'm from Naples in Italy and I recognise this total lack of rules - minus the cows. Aman I hope you have recovered from the trauma, let us know you're fine 😂
you got to try Indian roads. You have to have 200% of your attention on surroundings. Its crazy but its fun.
In india we don't follow lane. Just drive in middle of the road. Honk when overtaking, honk in turns, honk in corners. Drive 30 40 in narrow roads, 60, 80 in wide roads. But you have to circle the roundabout or point, ma'am did mistake here.

What a fun video 🤣 I’ve literally never used my horn in the UK! I panicked so many times in that 😂 love you frantically looking around (like I would too!) and you sister just powering through 😭
We use the horn as a way of communication with the other drivers on the road as well as pedestrians. The number of honks signify what you're trying to say. Its hard for me to explain. But if you spend a considerable amount of time here, you will get the hold of it.
