The audio layers (background pieces, solos, etc.) are recorded using a multi-track recorder (Korg d32xd). After all of the audio is done, I use a video camera to "lipsync" all of the different audio layers (i.e. hit the play button on my recorder and play along with the song as the video records). Once I have all of the different media pieces (the song + 3 video recordings), I just take it all into Adobe Premiere and match up the audio from the 4 different layers so everything is in sync.
This solo fits the song perfect early in the solo the man is trying to accept his death and then after the break all hell breaks lose those unison bends almost sound like he’s screaming great shredding by the hamster

WRONG. This solo is hard as shit to play 100% accurately. When I first learned it in like a week, I got through it with a less accurate version that is much easier.
The Ride The Lightning demo was recorded on October 24, 1983. Kirk joined right before the recording of Kill 'Em all which was in early May of 1983. Kirk performed on the demo, not Dave. All Dave wrote was the spider chord riff.

The ride the lightning song had been kicking around for a long time before it was recorded. Mustaine did contribute to material that ended up on the RTL album, including the main riff to this song a variation of which is used on Wake up Dead, he did not write this solo though. Everyone learns at a different pace. Some solos might take me a few days to play well and others have taken me months. I usually memorize the notes of a solo within a few days and typically start around 75% speed (50 for parts that are smoking fast). Try to build up speed in increments of 5% for each repetition. I'll usually build from 75% slowly up to ~90, and then reset it at 75 and rebuild back to 90 again. Rinse/repeat hundreds of times if necessary. Even when I feel I can comfortably play at 90% speed, I'll still kick it back to 75 and slowly add speed with each repetition. Every time I make it to my ~90 or ~100 goal, I'll reset the speed back to 75 and start over. The final 5-10% is the longest stretch and usually where I'll get stuck for a while until one session, everything just clicks. And then a few weeks go by and I forget how to play the solo.

I'll usually build from 75% slowly up to ~90, and then reset it at 75 and rebuild back to 90 again. Rinse/repeat hundreds of times if necessary. Even when I feel I can comfortably play at 90% speed, I'll still kick it back to 75 and slowly add speed with each repetition. Every time I make it to my ~90 or ~100 goal, I'll reset the speed back to 75 and start over. The final 5-10% is the longest stretch and usually where I'll get stuck for a while until one session, everything just clicks.
And then a few weeks go by and I forget how to play the solo.
