I'm guessing he learned it from leveling up and they just used a spellscroll as a storytelling device -- because it should have disintigrated when he used it the first time.
@@BouncingTribbles Thing is though that Scanlan is a Bard not a Wizard. He can cast but can't learn a spell from a scroll, and casting it would have destroyed it when he tried it earlier (when he turned into a frog). So my thinking is that the scroll is just a plot device to explain why he knows Polymorph.

Thank Sam Riegel. He actually plans his moves ahead of time. Some of it is dumb luck though like when Scanlan killed King Murghol in the campaign even though the way he does it would’ve been nice to see in the show.
Started with Ghost Sound in the street, to distract the guards at the gate. Then Potion of Blink, Potion of Reduce Person, Potion of Fire Breathing, and Scroll of Polymorph as he worked his way through the mansion. A word of advise. Just because someone is good at telling jokes, doesn't mean they aren't also good at delivering punchlines.
Who are you advising?
Anyone.
I see what you did there. 😏
Agree. This show has such great actors but somehow the deliveries are so awkward. It could be the bad script writing

Fire shitting would have worked as well. Not particularly useful in that direction as a distraction.
Ok, the way he spewed out flames was just disgusting like he was puking stream of flames
I read the first sentence and couldn’t stop wheezing-
The magic shit came from a different potion.
I think it was a potion of fire breathing, which really should have been labeled as potion of fire projectile vomiting.
