  • Wear your sunglasses indoors and at night! There is increasing concern about the types of problems that might be caused by our constant exposure to blue light, from computers and televisions and other modern technology. By cutting out the blue light, Thaddeus Owen says he sleeps much better and reduces potential problems with vision or cancers.
    Thaddeus is a sustainability manager, a national leader in developing a zero-waste philosophy within industry and turning sustainable ideas into reality. Along the way, he has become a passionate advocate for responsible use of technology and our daily encounters with blue light. He wears sunglasses indoors and at night, and thinks the rest of us should too.
    This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

    Corey Hart sang a song in the 1980's ... "I wear my sunglasses at night" ... he is still alive and attempting a comeback

    watching the sun on rising, then at sunset ?

    What is the cost for your glasses?... So interested.....

      There are many styles and brands. The glasses I wear in the video are Swannies and cost about $69. You can find effect pairs for $7.99, but they don't look great if you go out. If you just wear around the house, $7.99 Uvex blue light blockers can be found off online merchants. If you go out, Swannies, TrueDark and a few others look better, but cost more.

    There are bluelight blocking glassing with "normal" glasses tue and the producers claim they are blocking bluelight, why is every famous biohacker wearing yellow/ombre glasses? Do normals glasses with bluelight blocking funktion not work that good?

      Galliano Marr Glasses don’t filter as much blue light if the lens are not orange/pink.

    What about Night Shift on iOS and other warm backlighting?

    • @PrimalHacker
      @PrimalHacker 7 років тому

      Night Shift is decent, but Iris is better. Now, you still have the issue of overhead lighting, TV lighting, refrigerator light, outdoor street lighting etc.. so even if I use Iris or Nightshift, I still wear blue blocking glasses. The more protection at night the better. But if it's Nightshift or nothing, then it's definitely better than nothing.

      The only way to get 100% blue-blocking on devices is using a blue-blocking film. I purchase mine from low blue lights dot com. But, using blue-blocking glasses are better for an individual. Blue-blocking films are best if you are using your device around other people who do not have blue-blocking glasses.
