I always leave out a few of my dirty clothes on my cat’s favorite places if I need to spend a night away from home. It seems to help her with separation anxiety.
If your cat gets lost hang some dirty clothes outside. I also sprinkled our urine in the backyard. My cat was missing for a week, he returned hours after the urine aroma showed him the way home. Hey, it worked.
If I'm going to be out of my home for more than 4 hours, ill purposefully leave a few articles of dirty laundry on my bed for my kitty to snuggle with. I think doing this gives her a sense of security while I'm away...😻😻😻
Spike loved to drag dirty clothes into the living room. I always had to check before I had company over. I always felt he wanted me close when I wasn't there. How embarrassing. Clean clothes, they want to leave their smell on you. Ownership. They are goofy!
My cat has a thing for tank top that I use to go the gym and it smells. But, my cat would always grab it from the laundry basket and will proceed to nibble, scratch and sleep with it. He has done this since he was 3 months old so I named him tanky.
My cat LOVES clean laundry! She loves the smell of the laundry detergent we use, and sometimes it is the warmth of the clothes after they are removed from the dryer. She will sit in the laundry basket hours after the clothes have been washed and it is the one habit that has never changed.
Our old ginger tabby just loves to sleep upon a well cleaned and ironed pile of cloth, lmao. I guess it also depends on the cat's personality when it comes to this.
I don't know about worn clothes but I know for sure that when I do laundry and there's a fresh pile of clean clothes or linen in the basket, they love to plonk themselves right on top of the pile and fur up everything.
Thank you for this video, My cat (persian, male) love to smell our dirty clothes, he sleeps on it too. Whenever i start doing laundry he will step on to the dirty clothes and stays on it and sleep.he likes to smell them, I thought its unusual.
I don't want to be gross, but both of our boys will come into the bathroom to smell our...waste. Frankie (black & tan tabby boy) is very keen in general. He wants to know what you're doing and will groom your hands/face/whatever he can reach. Orri, (Tuxedo boy) will not allow my missus to go to the toilet alone. By which I mean that cats aren't put off by our smell and definitely seem to appreciate it as a signal of what we are and our health. Not unreasonable given the way they see the world.
They come running as soon as the pants hit the tile. Two same two every time. Stay until the credits roll. Every single time. No matter if sleeping or not. They wake up for show time. Strange very strange. If by chance I beat them to shutting the door there will be scratching and paws under the door pulling until I give in.
I put laundry basket upside down on my youngest female to prevent door dash. I seen it in a video. I keep it beside the door. I come back she has scooted all around the house. Doesn’t scare her. When I turn it over on its side she still stays there. It’s a big one plenty of room underneath it.
Super cats will find your clothes regardless where you hide or store them. It may take a lock to keep them out.....I have to use them in some situations.
I had a cat who loved ,I do mean loved ,to hop into the dryer and sleep on any freshly dried clothes ,warm and comfortable I know . I also had a young son at the time ,who would often yell "Mum" from another room just as I was unloading the dryer ,the cat learned to take advantage very quickly .If i was gone more than 5 mins ,there he would be when I got back ,orange and white butt on my clean black jeans ..lol .Fortunately the cat we have now ,a big tuxie , has no interest in clean laundry ,he just sleeps on my side of the bed instead .I feel for all the people out there with clean laundry loving cats .Wendy Langcake .
Yes said this the other night. Female will meander around the house three in the am with a dirty tube sock in her mouth. Yowling and sounding sad. I thought it was her missing kitten of days past. Although she sure was ready for them to leave. Wonder what the sock thing means? Second female I’ve had do that. Muffin the calico did it too. Both fixed bot had, had multiple litters. I miss you Muffin. Door dashed and absolutely vanished. Checked the HS website still after 2 years nothing. She wasn’t happy about my gray girl and her litter. Very unhappy. Maybe fed up and bucked. I hope she is alright wherever she is. I’m hoping she is in someone’s house in the newer houses down the way. I sometimes ride kids old bike right down the road which is a Cull-de-sac and look at the windows. She was a window cat. Always, so I figure maybe see her perched in a window. Nothing. I go couple times a week. Look a mess 6’6 riding a 20 inch bike. Probably look like a burglar casing houses🤣🤣
Got another question in case the issue hasn't been covered. My Maia is in heat these days. I'm trying to help her allievate her in her heating cycles by massaging the root of her tail, She hasn't been spayed yet. If she wants to get a litter of kittens one day, she needs to make that decision. Not me. Now, whenever, I'm not giving her attention, she's yelping like a torture creature. Has been lasting for the last 5 days. Got any advice?

I do the same! It can help with separation anxiety.😻

On the one hand eww comes to mind but on the other, great idea!

Brilliant!
I left my jacket on my bed, and she decided to sleep on it, instead of her bed that was 2 feet away.

My son's cat rolls all over his socks the second he tosses them down!
Always.😂
I guess he's so glad to smell him.🥰🐱
When we had our cat Aries, one thing he would do was dig out one of my work sock's from the hamper and bring it to my wife lol.
Even my cat is named Aries. What a coincidence to find this comment
@@zeebebany What colour was yours, ours was a black and white short hair :).
@@arohk1579 My cat is a tabby, he's 2.5 years old now.😊
When I had to get my Rudy used to a new carrier, I stuck my used T-shirt in there, and he quickly got the idea that this was a good place.

Omg don't they just, op?! I always thought they prefer clean stuff because mine seem to lie in a freshly laundered load!

I don't move often. Last time I moved I made sure I did not wash any of my clothes before. I also set aside different soft surfaces to not clean!

So basically thats like perfume for a cat
My cat likes my spot on the bed & chesterfield but not my dirty clothes only when the clothes come out of fresh laundered clothes!
My guy was just the same as soon as I put basket of clean clothes down he was on top of it. I still miss him 16 years later

Unfortunately mine sheds.

How about putting fresh sheets on the bed around a bunch of cats? Impossible literally impossible.
Same here
LOL...So do dogs like to lay in clothes too. 🐈⬛🤣
Good vid I book marked it
Just sacrifice some dirty clothing for your Cat. They are generally worth the donation

Hello @ Senior Cat wellness How come cats are mostly unalfabetics but hungry & eat They understand so very well?
My kittie preferes to sleep on top of my clothes in the deep leather chair right next to my bed rather than her own crib.
Got another question in case the issue hasn't been covered.
My Maia is in heat these days.
I'm trying to help her allievate her in her heating cycles by massaging the root of her tail,
