  • We added a very old 20 gallon aquarium to the office and showing how to scape properly and easily. Bringing the fish inside when we can’t be by the koj pond.

      @@CapeFearKoi in about to be setting up a 4foot aquarium here at my home. My son has fish that keep on breeding and with that being said I will soon be the proud owner of some tetras and other bright fishes. Yay

      That going to be awesome. This is my first aquarium in close to 30 years or more. I loved having one as a kid. Setting this up brought back many memories and I’m sure your next one is going to bring many to your son.
      Enjoy the ride!!

      I’ve been enjoying them daily and always check in on them before I turn in for the night. Definitely glad it was assembled.

      @@progressivepondkeeping it really is. My buddy was saying how difficult it is to find one these days and if you do, it’s a pretty penny. When he says he would pay $150 for it. That means something. I could probably double that. He’s as cheap as they come and I’m surprised he doesn’t have plastic bags hanging instead of aquariums.

    Very cool...string or fishing line? Which is better. Why didn’t he cover entire bottom with gravel? We have a small aquarium at our condo here FL

    • @CapeFearKoi
      @CapeFearKoi  3 роки тому

      Thanks Ray! Both have pros and cons. String deteriorates sooner but algae grows on it and blends in better. Braid line will last forever if you can get it to blend.
      He didn’t cover entire bottom for a couple reasons. One was to keep waste build up to a minimum and have plants consume it in the rocks and 2 because it such an old school base, we just had to keep it exposed!!
      It’s been fun set Rin up an aquarium again. It’s been decades since I had one.
