- Rojak is a concoction of a thick blend of dip served with freshly cut fruits and vegetables notably pineapple, turnip and cucumber as its main ingredient. Here we show you how to mix and fold the dip, crucial to the success of 'Rojak', done ala 'Penang' style, where GND originates, Penang being a food capital famed for its spices and belacan', a paste made by drying and pounding dried shrimps sold in blocks. This video faithfully recreates the dip that the author remembers, spending many nights leaning against the roadside tricycle that parks opposite his home , watching the seller makes his sauce. Rojak is a flexible recipe that could be eaten as dessert, appetiser, tea time, or supper sending on the mood and occasion suitable for buffets as well as parties.

What dark soy sauce do you use? It’s so thick. Looks like cooking caramel
Just dark soy sauce on the label and yes it is usually thick abd sweeter in taste
