    More on clouds: I’ve learned that they’re not FULLY client side. They’re loaded in on the server but any changes made due to weather (as they move throughout the length game) is client. So they’re not fully unique, but you very well may experience the issues, especially with spotting

      try landing a saber or second gen fighter in near zero visibility because that what happen to me in the match. The Team was dying due to the clouds in the airfield that was not fun at all I have to fight 3 MiG 15 bis in a German saber.

      About the whole cloud + IR missile thing?
      would it be that missile behaviour is therefore based on each client? and not something that realistically can be put into servers. Or would u still just manage to lock onto ppl if ur in a client but not server cloud.

      I like the idea of the changed matchmaker, however I think that also touches on the point you brought up earlier about Gaijin being cheap on their servers, and if they were to reduce the BR spread, they would have to compensate by adding servers, which they probably won't do... But I agree with your thoughts and hope they'll do it.

    clouds being client side has always bothered me, nothing like getting in a dogfight in a cloud but not knowing if the enemy is struggling to spot you as much as you may be struggling to spot them.

      Clouds are only visually client side, the "hitbox" is determined server side which leads to even more confusion as IR missiles can loose track through thin air, same with spotting and markers.

      my honest reaction when a jet is spotted 6km infront of me and already throw three fox3s at me, totally not broken spotting system 😊
      edit: this is in clear weather, with cloudy/thundercloud conditions the spotting gets much, much worse obviously

    Forgot the best punishment from crewlock: When you're stock at top tier and need to multipath fox-3 to survive, but the incessant overcast cloud layer intersecting terrain leads to you crashing

      You really dont need chaff to evade Fox3's rn, chaff only works when the missile is within 3 to 5km of you, so... better fly at a decent altitude

    The +- .7 br change is great. Gaijin likes to say doing so would increase queue time (which is totally fine, like you said) and would decrease the variety of vehicles in a game (also totally fine imo).

      i would like the +-.7 over the +-1.0 br window, 14.0 wouldn't touch upon anything under 13.3 and 13.7 wouldn't bully 12.7 into irrelevancy anymore

      If you think about it, it’s basically just another way to implement BR decompression. Switching to +-0.7 from +-1.0 would effectively be the same as raising the BR cap from 14.0 to 20.0
      Also, if it queue times get longer, wouldn’t smaller teams mean shorter queue times since there’s be fewer spaces to fill?

      @@peposad2588 In sim it works in brackets that are on a rotation. Typically it’s a 1.0 spread, but every once in a while it comes out to 0.7 around the top few brackets.

    Gaijin REALLY needs to take a year or even half a year off from adding new vehicles and just focus on the game aspect. Game modes, economy, gameplay, quality of life, optimization, better maps, just overall a better experience. Like the game has been the exact same experience over the last 12 years. Like the game is stale af. How can they make this game run with out improving the actual gameplay aspect. Vehicles are cool and all but make the game better as a game instead of of every up date collecting the newest thing for the same experience when it comes to gameplay.

      Modifying game modes, and making a more dynamic game!?!? My dear Frost, that would be far too expensive, albeit, logical for the game's longevity, from our beloved Gaijin. Modeling new planes, for the quick bucks, no matter how shortsighted; now, that's the Gaijin way.
      If you couldn't tell, I was being completely sarcastic lol. I agree with you %1,000! At this rate, Gaijin will run out of new planes to model in only a few years. Thus, screwing themselves, and Gaijin's only cash cow, War Thunder. And lets face it, new planes are what attracts players' enthusiasm.

    I've been saying .7 BR range matchmaking for YEARS and couldn't agree more. If they refuse to add more BRs and servers, then this is kinda the only reasonable option.

    8:40 honestly max uptier should be 0.6-0.7 and gaijin will complain that queue times would be too long for that but then making the lobbies SMALLER to 8v8 etc would fix this

      You keep forgetting that this is not a problem, it's the purpose. 13.0 get's sealclubbed, so maybe 1 out of 100 players caves and buys the shiny 14.0 with GE. Money made. Force players to buy premium by making the grind a literal second job WITH premium and near impossible without.

      Actually that's the excuse the use the real reason is that they want to increase the server count as the more people you have in one match the less mm servers you need which means more money for them

    Missiles are HEAVILY affected by the server. Bear in mind that radar cross sections and IR signatures in the game are not real. They're just parameters that are tied to the player's "actor", which is the plane they're flying. Whenever a missile tracks, it runs a command to fetch the target player's position in world space. This command requires "ticks" in order to execute repeatedly. And it has to execute repeatedly in order to fetch the target player's new position, then correct the object's (missile's) path accordingly.
    The "tick rate" (frequency of how many times the command gets re-run) in a multiplayer game is tied to the server's "refresh rate" (think of your frame rate). If the server's refresh rate drops to 25Hz and the missile's guidance command tick rate is 75 (75 updates per second), then the missile will only update 25 times per second, meaning that you will have a total 0.66 seconds without receiving an update on the target's position. That's a monumental problem.
    The same can be said for object streaming, which is why you get the invisible missile effect.
    Edit: Packet loss and Latency (ping) are the two biggest factors affecting the server refresh rate or the missile tick rate. It's a bit complicated, but it boils down to higher PL/Ping = ticks being either skipped or ignored, which again, also affects missile guidance in game.

    I really want to see an enduring confrontation mode for air rb as a separate sort of gamemode. From the little bit of sim I've played and from helicopter battles, the mode is really fun and would actually give bombers and ground attackers a mode in which they can thrive.

      Air RB only having a single spawn and no Air EC mode as an alternative. It's always frustrating to fly to the battlefield for 5 minutes, eat a missile and having to join a new battle to do the same thing over and over again until you finally get a kill yourself. Also, every air RB match is the same. Same objectives, same map layout. Nothing is different (except for the terrain)

      The issue that i see in war thunder that completely eclipses all other issues is the singular game mode. War thunder has the best control scheme I've seen for controlling aircraft with keyboard and mouse, has the best balance (imo) between accessibility and complexity/quality of any flight game/sim.. and they only have team deathmatch...
      If you get fed up with getting third partied? you can't go and play duels
      you want to actually use your bomber for something other than being cannon fodder or CAS? nope you can't have EC in RB
      If war thunder had more than just team deathmatch and sim EC, i could forgive the near endless list of issues that i have with the game. In fact i'd probably call it the best flight combat sim/game of all time. But in it's current state? with it's current game modes? it's just a game built to burn people out.

    Jet tiers should only have +0.7 uptier/downtiers, biggest offender here is 13.0, utterly overpowered stompers when facing the 12.0 phantom horde, completely useless against 14.0 rafales and typhoons

    Adding insult to injury with the crew lock mechanic:
    Gaijin decides to use "multipathing" so one of the only reliable ways to dodge radar missiles is staying right at tree top level. But, their servers suck balls so you get intermittent momentary packet loss and crash, because lord knows their server will only pull you down into the trees and never up. Boom, you die, obviously your fault, sit for 5 minutes and think about what you've done.

      this bs only gets compounded in SIM where you not only pay the repair cost when the server yeets you into the terrain through no fault of your own...but you also lose 20% of your earnings in that 15min chunk by not landing (you need to survive and land to get 100% of your useful actions rewards). It's just exhausting, and they'll never fix it because, hey, it works nicely with their FRUSTRATION MONETISATION strategies

    Banger video seek. When it comes to the map selection, I'm sick and tired of not having the old prop maps in jet tier. This is stupid. The new maps don't look as good from a color palette perspective and it ruins any sense of nostalgia in lower tier jets too. You're also totally correct about the matchmaker. I have so many games at 7.0 US where none of our planes are over 7.3 BR but we're fighting Meteor Mk 8s, MiG-15s, and La-200s.

      That's probably a result of the server thinking the clouds are in a different place than they are on your client.

      Could be fixed by just giving the kill reward to the closest enemy but instead of that if they crash the reward is just gone and they get a 10 min timer that doesn't mean anything if they have more than 1 premium bomber

      players do this anyway, they just switch between premiums. crew locks as a deterrent mechanic only make sense if there's ONE CREW. but you get multiple for EACH nation.
      They're there to continue frustration

    Clouds are rendered clientside but are generated from a seed that is sent from the server. They should look nearly identical for each client

    As for why Crew lock exists its basically Gaijins ignorance and their we know better attitude.
    It was introduced back when the British Channel Map (Boulogne-sur-Mer ) was added when we still had 1 hour Match Timers in Air RB and Prop Players hated having to fly 20-30 minutes to even have contact with the enemy team, as such the map was mass boycotted and Players just left when they did get it and Gaijin hated it and instead of removing it from Prob Matches ( it was even possible to get with rather low tier stuff around 3.0 if i remember correctly) they punished the Players for not playing the Map with Crew lock ( could be missremembering but I recall it being way harsher back then).
    It was hated back then and the Community hated Gaijin for it but Gaijin ignored every Feedback in their typical style.
    As for my biggest gripe and what i want "fixed" or rather returned is Map based Nation Battles like on Pacific Maps Japan vs USA and Britain acompanied with the more objective based matches back then. Yes we had more objective based Gameplay back then even though nowadays everyone is always on about we play the same ARB Gameode since the beginning but in my opinion this is a bit misleading or outrightt false.
    In the old longer Matches AI would contribute to a slow Ticket bleed which after 20-35 Minutes would often lead to one side winning if the Players wouldnt intervene to actually follow objectives on quite a few Maps (mostly the Pacific ones) which also lead to more spread out fights sine not everyone was just in one giant furball. While this was not true for all Maps and Matchups it made for vastly more interesting and nuanced battles.
    And the newer Nations would be no problem since even then we had alternative timeline Maps where Nations would fight which didnt historically so they could get alternative Maps (even based on already exisiting Maps like Berlin back then which could be Germany againt Allies or Soviets or a Cold war gone hot style Nato vs warsaw pact). One theoretic Example being Germany invades Sweden to secure swedish Iron so Allies + Sweden fight Germany or Allies try to cut of the iron supply to Germany and invade so we can have the same map with Germany + Sweden against allies and similiar settings for soviets.
    While this would be more difficult with more modern Jets where Matches would be one sided due to the higher asymetry of technology like armanment and rader I really would love to see it for atleast Probs and early jets. ( yeah i miss good old Mig Valley matches on Korea and actually fighting in the Pacific Theathre)
    Gaijin even tried this All vs All we have now several Years ago and it was hated quite a lot, so they reversed it after only a short while but after the T 2 debacle they dropped every atempt at upholding the Map based nations due to to extreme power creep at top tier for lower tiers aswell which i still find questionable and detest it due to a massive drop in quality dogfights after those changes.
    Maybe it is a placebo effect but ever since I personally found less enjoyment playing ARB and only hop on from time to time or when Friends play.

      Since my main Statement already got rather long i decided to split this off.
      The old Matches were not perfect and had a lot of issues ( space climbing Bombers just as one example) yet for me were vastly more entertaining. Rather than a full revert i would love an option for more of this old school War Thunder Matches (like Historical Air battle events we had on weekends back then or as a seperate search queue).
      Gaijin also experimented with a no marker for enemys in ARB mode which was really entertaining which i would love to see reimplemented in some form ( could even help with the High tier long rage missle tiers since teammates would no longer work as scouts for those staying in the back to sling their missles).

    Imo they must rework the maneuver kill system. Just today I "got" 3 maneuver kills (two guys trying to multipath and another who stalled during a 1v1) and i got squat for it. Its not fun for the guy who is denied the kills, its not fun for the guy who gets crewlocked because he technically crashed. So who is this system supposed to benefit?

      Yeah, I want to be credited with a special maneuver kill (maybe assist rewards) if an enemy or ai crashes within 3-5km away from you, but if you have a radar lock on a target and they crash, then you can get a full maneuver kill reward (kill equivalent) no matter the distance so long as you have a radar single target track and bot just tws or irst

      Making the game fun would mean less frustration, which will mean less premium time and premium vehicle purchases. players make purchases to offset a certain portion of the frustration inherent in the game's mechanics. The more they can frustrate players, the more they squeeze out of players' wallets.

    Crewlock is to punish people for abandoning matches.
    Internet issues can't be excluded from crewlock, because if it was, abandoners would simply disconnect the internet in their device to be able to abandon without punishment.
    I know this is an issue, because in naval there is a strategy for abandoners where they take a reserve vehicle into battle, and if they don't like the map, they spawn their reserve 3 times to burn up their spawn slots and leave the battle. They can do this because in naval you can spawn reserves in 3 times, and reserves don't get crewlock

      But as you said people find work around or just play another nation, you can also just close the game with the joblist while in loading screen, doesnt infer a crew lock either. If people dont want to play the game or map (for me its EC maps), you wont be able to stop them from leaving unless you make it a permanent punishment or much harsher (we are talking locking the account from playing for 15-30 minutes or whatever, could also be like 50-100k SL). Crew lock is just an annoyance that doesnt fix the issue.

      Honestly they need to start handing out short term bans that grow the more it happens for GRB quits. Absolutely over getting matches thrown when 5 teammates run out die and quit.
      Dual purpose would filter out a ton of the Chinese players too since that’s super common for them

      @@AlphaJulietBravo1 Terrible idea. Gaijin has no way of knowing if the player left due to abandoning the match, or if the server disconnected everyone from the match, or if the player's internet lost connection.

    Need massive buffs to bombers, make them more durable make ai gunners actually do something, and spawn them higher based on br, and fix the br of some bombers, some are way to high. This will open the gate to bigger better bombers like the b52

    And Air RB EC with forward Radars that give a high reward when u destroy it. and When u bomb a "base" that may be a Warehouse wich is linked to an Airfield.
    And when destroyed the Repairtime would be doubbeld.

    I made a Reddit post a while ago regarding map rotation and map bans.
    I would truly like to see a map selection in WT. Having the dislikes and the singular map ban is not enough, plus the existence of 2 versions of the same map completely negates the concept of the map ban.

    Rapid queue time is Gaijin's secret sauce. As a pure PVP game, it's their alpha and omega. Every in-game decision they made is fulcrumed around it. They will never narrow matchmaking to within .7, which is a damn shame. It would make for appreciably better gameplay.

    I think adding in a .5 br bracket and only going up or down .5 would be the best, it would fix a lot of issues with some jets being to good in a full downtier or to bad in a full uptier, such as the 104's.

    the map rotation if i remember is because gaijin randomly sellects a set of maps for a period and then changes that set of maps after some time mabye 1-2hours (selects lets say 3 maps then changes that sellection after 1-2hours)

    They really should explore enduring confrontations for realistic again. It allows people to play multiple types of planes and allows more styles. So if you want dogfight only that’s possible. If you need to grind a bomber you have a better chance to bomb. If you have a strike or attack aircraft you have a reason to play it now in air battles.

    I’ve said for years that I want a genuine red vs blue Cold War mode and, I really think it’s time now. We don’t need more jets, we need more reasons to play with what we have.
    That and the maps are my biggest issues. I find myself excited to play low tier maps, just to change the scenery up. Why can’t we play the Iwo Jima pacific map in jets? Why can’t we play midway or Guadalcanal in jets? What about the Battle of Britain map? Why is this so hard for gaijooob…

    If you think clouds are annoying in arb, imagine how annoying they are in sim. Holy shit it sometimes makes landing at some air fields impossible, and on hilly/varied levels on terrain maps, you sometimes get Freddy fazbeared into a mountain.

    Try to play a High tier naval if you think gaijin server are ok. Litteraly 9 out of 10 matches end up in a server crash.
    Also, I am fairly sure server tickrate is reduced during event.

    EDIT: 0.7 Battle Rating spread would solve 95% of the game's compression problem and would barely make a dent on the queue times. There is literally NO REASON for them not to do it...

    I remember getting one clear map on Kamchatka, the only reason I can remember it was from having back to back cloudy maps every game for the last couple of weeks and constantly commenting on how you can't escape the clouds! I whole heartedly agree that they need to appear less, especially to avoid those embarrassing moments flying into the ground.

    To be fair regarding the MICA "Buff", they did change how TVC performs so that could be reason for it behaving better which isnt really a buff on the MICA itself but rather a general tvc missile performance buff.

    Decompression and deacent BR shifts should fix most of the problems. Altering the games core in that way would kill much of the variety of vehicles at actually well pu together brackets. Since compression is more of a hot-spot thing than whole game thing, i think that decompression where its needed would be plenty enough. As for clouds, theyre both server and client side, server handles the "hitbox" and the game handles the visual volume and render. Thats why clouds are so inconsistent. The spotting system needs to be fixed for top tier as well. Or universal, team wide datalink with AWACS aircraft should become standard above 13.0 since the planes do have actual capabilities, and we need something to compliment/fix the spotting system.

    I think on the map thing about getting maps the same all the time could also be players banning certain maps if we keep getting the same maps, people eventually just keep banning them meaning the map is now gone and yes you only get one but that's enough for it to slightly no longer come up To play on

    1. no fkin vape over all the map
    2. no 16-16 at BR higher than 11.3
    3. adequate markers, at least 12 km at all aspects at BR higher than 11.3
    4. multipath 70m (creator of Spain and Clown heights, bump yourself into wall)
    5. all kinds of CM given to stock planes at 12.3 and higher
    5. more buffs for soviet flight models
    that would at least make game a bit playable

    6:30 on the topic on map selection, what Gaijin is doing probably is to load a single map in one of the servers and keep in loaded while running multiple matches on it, then every 30 minute or so they switch the maps. Why they do this is probably to save time unloading/loading on servers. There are thousands of matches played every hour, these load/unload times on server side does add up.

    I agree with everything you said but i wish gaijin also added a new gamemode that would run together with regular RB, i'd feed snail a lot of money for EC RB, it wouldn't be hard to implement since it would just be a copy paste sim mode. I know it has a lot of issues regarding buggy bots and shit but man that mode is so good imo.

    One tiny thing they could potentially do is this:
    If you have a problem plane (be it in the sense that the plane has a problem or is the problem) allow themselves to adjust the BR by 0.1 to no longer allow it to see inferior opponents in downtiers, or unbeatable opponents in uptiers, depending on which category the plane falls into.

    The thing is with clouds - gaijin knows full well how clouds affect player experience and that desicion was very intentional. Its because they want matches to be as random as possible, so shitters, who give them the most amount of money by buying their way to top tier, can still get some kills and keep playing the game, while spending more money on it. Thats why we have 16v16, permanent clouds, worse spotting than before, etc. If it was any other game developer, I'd said its just a conspiracy, but with gaijin its way too clear, cause thats how they treat every aspect of their game and everything fits together just too good to be a coincidence. And for every person, who thinks that all this will be fixed - no, it wont, unless we get another mass protest, that will risk gaijin loosing money. They may fix one issue, but introduce a dozen of new manipulative and predatory mechanics alongside with it. From where you're kneeling it must seem like an 18-carat run of bad luck. Truth is... the game was rigged from the start.

Even if youre a decent player, its hard to keep track of so many variables, it makes it so youre not flying a plane, youre doing probability management. The main beneficiaries of such system are people with lesser skill, their thoughtless approach can work better in such circumstances. And thats mostly the people, who are buying their way to top tier. It just fits together very well, and I highly doubt that gaijin are oblivious of this. And yea, I get it, not everyone has time and will to improve at the game, and people should have fun regardless of their skill, but the thing is - its just not fun at all, theres no satisfaction in getting random kills and then getting destroyed in the same fashion. But as many people pointed out - gaijin does not think that they can monetize fun, they monetize frustration instead, and it really shows.

    I personally dislike the .7 BR matchmaking. All it does is decompression in a more obtuse and difficult to understand manner. Decompression that Gaijin obviously doesn't want in the first place, since they won't increase max BR more. I just want normal decompression via increasing the max BR and moving vehicles up.

    bigger maps + less players + multipath rework + datalink system (what my friendly radars see i'll see too) this by itself would make the top tier 200% more enjoyable, especially the players count, we were asking for like 1 entire year for 8v8 or 10v10 and they gave us a fucking absurd fictional chance of getting 12v12, I really cannot understand gaijin

    Give players the option to adjust their BR spread so players who want good matches can set their spread lower and players who want fast queues can set them higher. Over time this would normalize the match maker to the overall preferred queue time/balance ratio of the players.

    As far as I see, WT is full of shady code, the recent RCV(P) video showing different angle limits for the gun on the test drive and actual battles prove that they have different vehicle stats for each mode. I don't even believe the data miner files anymore either, I think those are just there to deceive players with stats we can't actually verify without the source code. Who's to say the server is actually pulling values from those tables instead of from another server side table? No way to verify that. I would only believe what they say if I had full access to the client + server source code to take a look myself, AND if I could compile the code myself AND connect to the servers AND the servers not resetting during my compilation + connection process AND no server downtime for a year or so -- to prevent a temporary swap where we could not gather enough data to compare to what the game currently feels like.
    All the client-side graphics stuff that hackers can swap/remove as well: cloud graphics, fires, smokes, painting textures with weakspots. Sure, the clouds still exist as far as the server is concerned, but just being able to see the terrain perfectly is already a major advantage.

    I mainly play air Sim and I have to say I like the clouds. I like them a lot even, one of the best change Gaijin could've ever made !
    BUT that stops the moment the weather is so bad EVEN DRIVING WOULD BE DANGEROUS.
    Clouds can be a great advantage when facing planes superior than yours in one way or another, for example as an escape route when messing up an attack against an A-10C when flying the German F-4. But I've had several matches IN A ROW (and that's a long time in Sim) where the entire map is covered with clouds ON THE GROUND, the fuck am I supposed to do in this case !? Even bombing and CAS is impossible without a HUD (that's not broken/incomplete, looking at you F-4S) and CCRP !
    And the clouds being clientside isn't an issue IMO, but a smart choice, since it reduces load on the server and (in theory) if each client has the exact same initial conditions and relevant factors distributed by the server when loading in the match, the result should remain the exact same on each and every client.
    Now that brings another question:
    How do you mess up distributing the SAME CONDITIONS to clients !?
    From what I vaguely know about WT, I'm guessing cloud location is decided with a random seed, humidity, temperature and wind speed. Factors that, normally, should then be affected by the same algorithms and functions on each client, so I don't understand how desynch. can happen ! And if so, why did they thing it was a good idea to implement it in-game anyway !?
    ... And again, who the FUCK sends the airforce in when several cumulus are ON the runways ???
    TL;DR: Clouds are awesome but a fucking pain in the ass in Sim

    The issue with the full uptier/downtier is you can face the 4 people with an entire lineup of those vehicles meanwhile you have a singular one that will put you in the range of facing it with the rest of your lineup being anywhere from .3-1.0 below the one that drug you into the match.

    1. Clouds are worse in sim battles and some are unplayable actually. You crash into mountains. Gaijin Devs are delusional.
    2. RNG in War Thunder doesn't even work. Map rotations are still broken and boxes aren't random either. For example in 1 day 6 people got AGS from the SL boxes. This isn't RNG, it's a poorly written loot drop that cycles the same items.
    3. Radars are heavily bugged and sometimes when you lock in HMS mode you can't even fire your missile. Lots of weird issues with radar.
    4. Gaijin won't upgrade servers even tho their income is insane compared to other F2P games. War Thunder is one of the most donated games. Every player donates money.
    5. Most of the issues can be fixed with them reworking the code and engine but they wont do it.
    Instead, they will make grind worse and worse for people to pay more money. Greedier than War Gaming not gonna lie.
    Gaijin was based on lies. They are pathological liars, especially the higher you go. Very cynical people who wont fix the damn game.
    Edit: I have been saying this for years, instead of BR range being 1.0 BR they should make it 0.7 BR range which fixes all issues with uptiers and downtiers. Simple as that.
    If Gaijin fixed many issues lots of players would come back to the game instead of them milking the same whales.

    We need a rework of ARB to have modes other than TDM. Targets that effect gameplay (AWACS that gives a spotting bonus, SAM control nodes protecting key points), add strategic bombers at higher tier, more spawn points as a C shape around one side of the map so that the enemy isn’t able to predict where you’re coming from, make certain targets worth more for certain vehicle types (bases should be worth 3x for bombers, ground targets worth 3x for strike and players [and AI fighters] worth 3x for fighters. Then make things that don’t have the bonus worth less, SU25 and A10 shouldn’t be going after aircraft)

    I see countless times in air rb people that will crash to the ground on purpose to deny a kill after they loose dogfight or drop their ordinance on a base. gajin has to implement manuver kills or make repeted offender getting like a day ban. Not to menshion mm should miror match squads, atm one team can get all of them and the other team non.

    As far as I’m aware, crew lock is to stop zombers as well as people leaving lobbies Willy nilly if they don’t like the map. It was a massive problem for players to bum rush bombing a base, then crash immediately and que up again. Most of the time, it was faster to get another match than it was to fly back to base and take off again, causing lobbies to instantly lose a significant amount of players each match. This was also a problem in Sim EC, which was the whole reason the rewards got nerfed time and time again. People flew out, crashed, then flew out again- some people even made bot scripts to do so, and would farm over and over with hundreds of deaths for a single bombing run each. Was pretty lucrative to hunt them down on EC maps, cuz the scripts didn’t care if you shot them down- if you found the base the bomber took off from, you could simply camp the line to the nearest bomb target and farm the zomber.

      All the BR issues we have stem from catering to players that think their armored car or IFV should be able to go head to head with a tank.
      How about you use your Wiesel the way it was intended, instead of having the game be completely fucked because there's no solid basis for how battleratings are asigned?
      I've already listed egregious examples of the current BR system failing to be fair or objective in any way and there are many more examples to be found if one cares to look... what for?
      Isn't the whole point of this game supposed to be experiencing epic historical duels between iconic vehicles? (and not having your early WW2 tank get shit on by a Korean War era tank)
      If all you care about is driving around and shooting shit, why come to WT in the first place?
      There's Crossout if you want vehicle combat, World of Tanks, Call of Duty if you wanna go all aim no brain, etc.
      Why force WT into being like those games instead of letting it be what it should be?

    I remember that one time where I took off with my Mirage F1, got a kill with a magic 2, then did an oopsie and ate a tree. Got a 5min crew lock when going back to the hangar??
    Also, speaking of servers, BR compression and all, I really think that there is a problem with the near-top tier experience right now. Couple of months back, I bought the Mirage F1-C 200 as a grinder for the french air tree on sale. I got quite a few good matches, the jet itself was enjoyable to use, even if I got sucked in near top tier matches often.
    I logged back after the last update, to continue griding the tree as now that the Rafale has been added, I have a reason to play (that's my favorite jet). Thing is, with the top BR increased to 14.0, my F1 has been increased to 12.0. I have played for a couple of days, and this is straight up unusable right now. I used to be able to get a couple of kills, either by getting get in close range and get a magic 2 kill, or a lucky gun kill (most other jets at this BR outperform the F1-C for dogfights) and sometimes even a nice Super 530F kill.
    Recently, I'm getting smacked by AIM-120As from across the map that don't even show up on my dogshit RWR, sometimes even the AIM-7F don't trigger the RWR at all. I'm constantly fighting 13.0 jets and the couple of matches I play that are not full downtiers, I'm still fighting 12.7 planes. I don't remember the last time I had a 11.0-12.0 match.
    the 530F were already pretty dogshit, but they're straight up dead weight now. Even against AI planes in a rear aspect at a sub-10km engagement, the missile misses a plane that flies straight, without any radar lock break. Kinda pathetic, I remember being able to smack players at close-ish ranges (8km or thereabouts) with it.
    The only way I have to make some RP and not lose 6k SL per match is to go ground pound, but even then it's a bit of coin toss if the RWR will pick up anything and I'll actually reach the target. Not to mentionn the absolute resident sleeper that the ground pound gameplay is (no disrespect to the people that love it).
    A week of this just frankly discouraged me, I don't even want to "learn to get better" by practising, there is nothing I can learn when every game is basically take off, fly 3 min to try to find a contact, get smacked through the clouds by a Fox 3 that didn't show up on RWR at all, coming from a dude that isn't even rendered yet, rinse and repeat. Only Fox 3 that seem to work properly (meaning that it shows up on RWR and that allows me to notch it or evade it) is the Farkour 90 and the AIM-54.
    Again, I don't know if that's a me issue, or a server issue or a client issue, but what I'm 100% sure of is that it's a terrible experience and I'd rather play ground top tier than whatever this is. Most of the time I just go play some other game that has its shit together.

      the g stat really doesn't mean anything, for example 9Bs frequently pull over 15gs (I've seen a recording of one pulling even 19gs)

    Crew-lock also punishes bomb-truck or generally spiteful players who decide to fly straight into the ground after dropping their bombs or upon being engaged and losing. If crew-lock wasn't a thing these people could jus keep queueing up and pull that shit and we'd see a whole lot more of it than we already do. Now, what could be done would be to make crew-lock work on a daily budget or something, giving you 3(roll of the dice) "free passes" where crew-lock isn't applied to you when it normally would've been. That means you can make 3 oopsies or have your internet crap out or whatever, but people still can't abuse it too hard to spite people out of kills with no consequence whatsoever. And people would abuse a lack of crew-lock, war thunder players are among the most petty I've come across in 20 years of online gaming, right up there with the players of a certain other franchise of tank/plane/ship combat games. If there is no direct punishment for something it's seen as being encouraged.
    Personally, as a primarily ARB player, the only time I really habe an issue with crew-lcok is when playing prop ground attackers for BP missions and I end up getting crew-locked by AI shooting me down, because a) it shouldn't be a crew-lock and b) since I'm trying do accomplish something specific as fast as possible it's more anoying to switch planes for a round. Those things could definitely use some fixing, but I wouldn't outright remove crew-lcok for crashing.

    Okay one big problem I'm having. TWS has like a 50/50% of working with amrams with all aircraft im using right now. It won't soft lock properly or data link and the red circle lock will show up and drift off into the bottom of my screen randomly.

    we need gaijin to fix naval. naval rn is in the EXACT same state as it was when it was first added to the game, only now theres more ships:
    The maps are way too small, and theres no strategy or fun gamemodes any more, just the same point capture.
    Premium vehicles completely and utterly outclass other vehicles, to the point you have missile ships fighting WW1 dreadnoughts.
    Some ships are just completely forgotten, abandoned, and innacurate. There are at least 3 or 4 Japanese ships where Gaijin just completely refuses to model the armour in the middle of the ship, meaning a Battleship can get destroyed by even a reserve tier destroyer.
    Gaijin seems to be in love with Soviet naval, since they literally get ALL of the good shit, and even boats that *never* existed being put into the game, while everything else suffers.

      problem is naval is dead, like its soo dead you are actually playing against filler bots most matches

    I think the spotting system is harder to change than just a flat spot radius around the player. I think terrain masking and good stealth should be rewarded rather than just having an arcade like radius where you can't sneak up for shit. One of the main reason I stopped playing arcade was because it felt like positioning was pointless cuz everyone can just see where you are

    This morning I was flying about 20000 feet and then an su27 came up under me 2 miles away before he got spotted but his missile was right next to me

    Hot take, sometimes I actually like the clouds, just depends how low they are to the ground. I like that when I'm fighting against a lot of enemies, I can hide myself away and surprise them. Sometimes they even help me win the game.

    I agree with most of your points gaijin need to pull their finger out their ass and make the changes but they’d rather have players suffer so they spend more money on the game that’s my opinion

    my favorite crew lock is when the team shts the bed so bad you get 10v1'ed within 4 minutes so crew lock

    A .7 br matchmaker would be amazing. Imagine, no 13.7s at 12.7. No 13.0s in your 12.0. No more all aspect IRs at 9.7.

    I've had a Strela missile hit me through a solid cloud cover. like a literal carpet with ZERO holes that I could see at 5000m alt. Suddenly, Strela missile up my arse. Sadly deleted the replay.
