I came here looking for this comment and it so happened to be the No.1 4:47 practically gives it away: what are the odds that costs and revenues in the 100s of millions just so happen to almost exactly cancel out?
@nolancampbell4451 will KK does love to create extra scenes that are never going to go anywhere. She does that pretty well religiously. And that cost a few extra million
I liked Rogue One. I liked Andor. I wanted to say the difference between Andor and Acolyte was it Andor doesn’t suck…but I can’t honestly say The Acolyte sucks. That is because I refuse to watch The Acolyte. I am pretty sure it does suck…but I’d have to watch it to actually know that.
Andor comes out to 26 million per episode and Obi Wan comes out to 15 million, I'd say inflation, quality, and there being a lot more actors and possibly them being paid more after the strikes explains this all.
The quality of Andor is way beyond what most of the other SW properties have achieved so if any of them are shuffling funds it would be the lesser quality shows or all the properties together.
Andor received 8 Emmy nominations and had a real chance of winning. Season two might win. Kenobi was given bad writers and directors. Andor was given great writers and directors.
Disney hater here. Andor is lovely. Easily 10/10 for me, or maybe 9/10 if you're disappointed about the lack of lightsabers and force powers. Andor is the best Disney has ever done. The money was well spent. Andor failed not because of its quality, but rather in spite of it. It failed because the other productions of Disney sucked and destroyed the IP.
If you look at it per episodes Acolyte cost approx 22mil for 8 episodes , obi wan season one 6 episode rumored to be 25mil per episode. 2 season of Andor around 27 mil per episode with 24 episodes total. Andor season 2 cost more so maybe they add more CGI in there. And the strikes in the middle did not help because even while no work is done costs like rents and utilities still need to be paid.
Andor is awesome though. I hate Disney but Andor is a masterpiece that rivals the original George Lucas saga and extends it in a way that I had never expected or deemed necessary. Go get a torrent (don't pay Disney) and watch it, you won't regret it. Andor is the show we never asked for but desperately needed.
Dude. Get over the amount spent on Kenobi. They could have quadrupled the budget and it still would have been shit with the “creators” involved. Talented writers could have avoided breaking EP4. These did not.
Disney seems to give us genuinely good content when they're not trying to base a project around a legacy character. Mando, Andor, and now Skeleton Crew, all end up being great because they're not confined to prewritten, established characters. Disney clearly has no idea how to handle those.
If there’s something that the sonic movie trilogy taught me, caring about the source material and listening to the fans and their feedback can lead you to success
@@Rhys-Lightning Granted, the sonic moves are not perfect. Especially with the wedding sub plot in the second movie. I don't know what they were smoking when writing that. But compared to other properties like Halo for example, you can tell that the people making the sonic movies do actually care about the source material. This is especially true for the 3rd movie, where they basically just copy and paste the plot of sonic adventure 2 and it works pretty well.
Andor being honestly one of the greatest Star Wars media ever created, I feel the price tag kinda parallels the quality at least for stuff like visual effects. Not only is Andor visually appealing but it's serious and well crafted story that respects the source material also gives it quality. Andor shows that if you spent the right amount of money on the right passionate people you can get something deserving of the price tag.
@@refugeehugsforfree4151I guess I shouldn't like Breaking Bad because they sometimes eat breakfast or have slow moments without actions. I loved the plotline of the town coming together. I loved the plotline where Andor was in the imperial prison, I hadn't thought the empire was scary like that since I was a child watching the originals. If you don't like Andor I respect your opinion, but I personally love the show.
@@zzygyyDisney needs to pay better, and Andor is proof if they do it works out for everyone. I personally think the Kenobi show (or trilogy if they had made it instead) should have had a budget similar to if not higher than Andor's. I think the problem isn't that Andor's budget is too high, and that the budget of other shows are too low.
Absolutely hyped!! As I wasn't since waiting for TFA 10 years ago! So weird that Theory can't comprehend how great Andor is.... Annoys me every time with his snark about it.
I really hate Disney but Andor is awesome. I only hope they don't make it woke and they stay true to Season 1's atmosphere and what made it great. Andor S1 is 10/10 easily.
@@dredeth lmao. Great reply, buddy. Defending feminists isn't going to make Star Wars better. The writing could be great but the casting dept is still thinking about DEI over story. The imperials only had men , they didn't even allow aliens, but sure let's contradict the lore so that feminists can get off
Concerning the cost of first season of Andor: 1: It was filmed on location in the United Kindgdom and the Scottish Highlands. They also built the city of Ferix. Compare how good Andor looks and how shows shot on the Volume look. You get what you pay for. 2. There were 12 epiisodes of Andor Season 1, which brought its per episode cost to around $20 million dollars. Agreed, thats A LOT of money. But guess what show cost even more per episode than Andor: Obi-Wan Kenobi! Just deal with it man. Krnobi was dog shit. If they threw $300 million dollars at Kenobi season 1, then we would have received 12 episodes of $300 million dollar dog shit.
As an avid and passionate Disney hater, I must also say that Andor is really, really awesome, easily 9/10 or 10/10. I really love Andor Season 1. It shows the sacrifices that the Rebellion had to make in order to become what it is in Rogue One and A New Hope. A show I didn't know I needed. But I am so happy to have it. Say what you will about Disney, Andor is nowhere close to the rest of the slop that Disney has made.
@@LaraA55 Yeah, that's about right. A show that dares to innovate and succeeds instead of creating pale imitations of past greatness? I believe that Disney and Kathleen Kennedy are the least to deserve any credit for this, lol
Tony Gilroy operates on a superior playbook that differs greatly from KK's. The fact that KK allows him such creative freedom tells me she must secretly admire him to give him such a pass. I'm still amazed we got this incredible, HBO-quality Star Wars show, especially now. Disney really doesn't deserve Gilroy.
@@LaraA55it’s a good show that works with the original trilogy very well. Best show Disney has produced. Way better than anything Filoni has been part of.
Let's be real, a bigger budget wouldn't have saved the Kenobi show. The biggest culprit and problem were the writing. Sure the Leia chase scene is stupid and some things look very fanfilm-esque, but they're not the problem of the show, - the writing team was. Unless they pay 500m$ on a new writing team, all that budget wouldn't have made a difference
11:00 - The only thing that makes sense on this is that Lucas gets royalties on the old characters but somehow Disney gets to own or keep the revenue on the new ones? So Disney wants to build a new brand that they mostly own and cut Lucas out of it?
I believe they have a clause in the sell contract with George that they must pay him a percentage when they use legacy characters. So they desperately tried to create new characters and want to avoid using legacy characters. So they will spend more for their characters and spend little for legacy characters.
Yeah, I think there's definitely a royalties issue here, hence things like "Rey's lightsaber". But their new ideas are so boring. Mando was the only show with any charm, and that's just a reworked Boba Fett and reworked Yoda in PAPER MOON.
I agree with you… they don’t get it. Here is another example. They spent just $20k on de-aging Harrison Ford for the last Indiana Jones and it shows. They should have spent millions on that as it was important. There are various dodgy CGI rubber faced scenes.
How about, writing a good movie instead of using all that CGI? That movie shouldn't have been made. Indiana Jones age is over. We have the trilogy and that is fine. There is something about a fourth movie where Indiana Jones actually marries, hey that is an ending too! If you see that movie as valid. But the guy it too old to play the character, it is done. At a point you should not make more action movies.
@DankySpanky There's a reason the producers and executives all live in 20 million dollar mansions and have a couple of other mansions in their favourite holiday spots.
@ that’s their base salary, I’m asking like specific people because there’s people above the producers, directors and actors. Those are the people making the most
1. Andor has more episodes and longer screentime. 2. 90 mil. in production. This didn't count post-production, which only adds to the price of whole show. Didn't anyone noticed that this sum remained the same from the time it was announced and after series ended, and (for eample) Acolyte's cost grew bigger and bigger? Disney just wants to avert eyes form Acolyte's cost. And Theory happily helps them, because he hates Tony Gilroy
Yeah, agreed. Normally I love Theory and agree with him 100% but his anger against Andor is kind of ridiculous, I cannot speak for season 2, obviously, because it's not out yet, but season 1 had some of the best most expensive sets, it had some of the best costumes and acting we've ever seen, and the writing was super super good. I can over look bricks and screws 😂. This show visually looks way better than Acolyte, way better than Skeleton Crew (which Skeleton Crew is better than I expected so no hate towards it), it definitely looks better than Kenob and Book of Boba Fett, and thats just visually!!! If there is *any* money laundering, it's not nearly as much as it was for Kenobi and Acolyte 😂 Tony Gilroy does Star Wars better than Dave, I'm gonna be honest. Andor is leagues above the Ahsoka show and it's absolutely not even close Edit: Disney only spent 90 million on Kenobi cuz they're retarded lol
I don't think he hates Tony Gilroy, but I definitely think this is leftover frustration with Lucasfilm over their mismanagement of budgets between Kenobi and Acolyte. Lets be real, if any show has earned a decent budget, it's Andor.
And yet hardly anyone watched it. So was it really "really good" if it couldn't build an audience in an existing franchise off the back of an existing spin-off movie?

I mean of all the shit they’ve released recently , Im glad they’re spending it on Andor. Season 1 was genuinely amazing with excellent meaningful writing.
Meaningful writing that could have been taking place on Earth during ww2. The setting gives the show no narrative strength. It could happen in any setting. Not sure why people who supposedly love star wars can't use the setting well.
"Amazing"? What? Nothing even happened. episode 1: "I need to find my sister!" last episode: "I need to find my sister!" You thought the 300-400k$ scene of a guy eating Cereal? WOW SO AMAZING GUYS! Man, idk how you people exist. Humanity is doomed.
I understand where you’re coming from, but Andor is by far the best thing to come out of Disney Star Wars. Whether that’s BECAUSE of the huge budget, or whether it’s because the quality and vision behind the show really earned that budget is unclear. But regardless, we shouldn’t get upset that we finally got something amazing from Disney. And secondly, we can only hope that the vastly positive reception of Andor will teach Disney what investing money into the right writers and a high-quality production can do for the fandom. Let’s hope they learn to invest more in other projects in the future! Don’t blame Andor for succeeding where other shows failed!
Andor is peak so they should put their money on it, it's worth it, not like The Acolyte. But you're right about the fact that they should have done the same thing with the Kenobi show, just because of the character behind it.
tbh theory Kenobi was crap not even triple the budget would fix the writing, andor on the other side was excellent and with a great story, you don't seem to like Andor a lot and now you attack rotten tomatoes because Andor has a good RT score? you often cite RT score to mock poor rated shows like The Acolyte. Still, you attack RT saying almost like they are sellouts because Andor a show you obv didn't like a lot as it is very different from the usual fantasy SW setting, I love your perspectives and all. Still, I feel like your opinion on Andor is wrong, Andor did something great for SW it proves it can be a serious universe with politics and thrills and not just lightsabers and force powers, SW it's much more than the og the trilogy and the prequels and clone wars, SW have potential to be something epic and thrilling like GOT or BB, and Andor was close to that,I love your work and as I say before I love your perspective on things but I feel like we should celebrate Andor more and not just focus on the big budget it had like it was something unworthy as the end product was very much worth the price tag, unlike Kenobi or TBBF or The Acolyte.
It isn't just about money and royalties, Theory. Kennedy has directly said they "need to move away from George's Star Wars". She doesn't like what he did. I don't think she ever has. She wants the IP to bee 100% Disney. Ergo... 100% her creation rather than George. She needs for Star Wars to be -her- legacy. Also, I think one of the main reasons Solo bombed was because... it really wasn't Star Wars. It didn't FEEL like Star Wars. You could have taken the names "Han Solo, Chewy, Lando, and the Falcon" out of the show and it would have been just any random space show. They could have plunked it into the Firefly universe for the same effect.
I think Andor is going to pleasantly surprise people that were underwhelmed by S1. I think the story and dialogue was the best ever in Stat Wars but ( even though I was a big fan) I can acknowledge it didn’t have a lot of action or lightsaber action or lore. I think if they use the same quality of story and acting and add this stuff over it you’ll have something that 90 percent of the fanbase can love. But we’ll see. I trust Gilroy,
I actually think Andor season 2 will be complete dogshit because Disney fucked Gilroy out 3 of his planned seasons forcing him to condense the story down. I want it to be good, I was one of the idiots who sat and ignored Andor Season 1 because "why the fuck, I didn't even like Rogue One that much" but I watched if after getting clowned in the comments section of EFAP Andor "Why is efap glazing this shitshow?". I actually watched season 1 and instantly recognized that Andor Season 1 is absolutely the best *Disney* Star Wars out right now (by far!), Better than Rogue One easily. (Sorry disnoids yes its better than Tales of the Jedi) I just don't want to get arcane'd again where I think "oh good these writers and showrunners made an amazing first season so there is no way season 2 will be shit"
@@sigy4ever I didn’t know it was being condensed. Oh that’s not a good thing at all. I really liked Rogue one except the cgi Leia and Donny Chen chanting about the force .
I absolutely adore the first season of 'Andor'. It's the best thing that has come out of Disney Star Wars. However, I feel the viewership doesn't justify these budgets. Many fans saw 'Andor' as "not true Star Wars" because it was treated like a serious drama and probably won't even watch the second season.
Remember when they said, they cancelled ACOLYTE because it was too expensive? They will never admit, it was shite to begin with. ANDOR, is completely different. From the writing, to the sets and almost everything. Yet, the money spent is insane. But I really hope, it pays off. Love S1. Merry Chrismas from Germany
In today’s money the cost of Andor cost almost twice as much as the *entire Original Trilogy* when adjusted for inflation. That is nuts. I admit that I crunched the numbers myself and used an inflation calculator to help, though I highly doubt I’m off by much.
You are half right, Theory. All characters made under the KK regime belong to her and Iger and their lieutenants hence they get royalties for the use of those characters in perpetuity. Kathy and Bob push the new characters because they own them and personally profit from them. They do not get a dime in their personal bank accounts for using George's characters. In the words of Rachel Ziegler, "That's Hollywood, Baby!"
Andor was one of the few good shows from Disney so even I still agree this money is literally so much, it deserved it more than many projects. I hope the final season will also be as much as good 👍🏻👍🏻
Granted, a lot of that money was earmarked for Obi-Wan but COVID locked down travel, which meant that they had to have someone use that money and Andor was the lucky show.
Andor was incredible. However your points about the funding seem true. However keep in mind Kenobi had 6 epsiodes. So that's 15 million per episode. Andor had a 250 million dollar budget. So that got 20 million per epsiode. The 5 million dollar per episode increase really shows. Nothing looks fake in Andor. Still have Ptsd from the snow speeder at the Inquisitor imperial base scene.
Completely agree. I’m getting tired of the “it doesn’t feel like Star Wars” just because it isn’t focusing on the original characters. I agree with most of what he says though about shows like Acolyte
@@billseren8391 Lol, it doesn't feel like Star Wars because it is a show that could take place during ww 2 with a group resisting the nazis. The premise is so divorced from the force etc that it could take place in any setting with an occupation.
It is not Incredible. it didn't even have a good plot. "I need to find my sister! Oh, this beach planet is pretty chill though!" LOL? like dude gave up as SOON as he landed on a different planet. Such a fake bullshit plot with no meaning.
@refugeehugsforfree4151 worst take I've ever heard on Andor. The plot has nothing to do with his sister. The point in the beginning was that he was lost, searching for ghosts. Kept getting in trouble, purposeless guy gets into more trouble but finds purpose with the Galactic Rebellion he never knew he wanted to be a part of.
So, just a quick note - 11 million in 1976 (seeing as 77 is when the movie came out) would be about 61 million today, so even Kenobi got more than the original movie. The first Deadpool movie was made for about the same money, maybe less than Kenobi. Money can't fix bad writing - and pretty much every Star Wars show issue is writing, even the ones I like have some huge writing issues. Marvel has the same problem right now, as do a lot of things - the writing right now for one reason or another is just bad.
The Writers strike cost them more time and money. This is just a diversion from how the Acolyte is still the most expensive relatively because of its much shorter run time. All because you are mad we don't see enough force and sabers
As much as I love Star Wars and have endlessly gushed on and on about it to friends, family and the internet, I also rail on it quite a lot and unashamedly critique the parts of it I truly feel aren't up to par, whether Pre or Post-Lucas era content and everyone enjoyed that! Whether we disagreed or agreed, we had great--often times spirited, discussions and we all truly cared about this galaxy far, far away as a result. Why people don't realize that today is beyond me. Like you said, there wasn't that long of a time prior when we used to have our debates...and then go grab a burger together! Now all of a sudden we're racists, homophobes, sexists and so on? Literally grow up and grow a pair already, jesus. Thank you Theory for continuing the conversations and keeping real, grown up conversations...REAL! Because of you, I'm inspired to finally start uploading UA-cam videos of my own that will reveal my voice and eventually my face, soon! This was no different (and tbh, a LOT nicer than) sports arguments lol! These woke-tards wouldn't last a SECOND arguing about SPORTS, especially HOCKEY! That's for sure LMFAO
Andor is the best thing since Rogue One. And then maybe Mando Seasons 1 and 2. They didn’t do Obi-Wan justice. Needed better writers. It had some cool elements but was a far cry from what we deserved. Solo was actually really underrated. That movie was fun and felt like Star Wars without trying too hard. If they would’ve stuck with the original script and crew like you said I’m sure it would’ve been even better!
Andor season one is the best writing Star Wars has ever had. I just don't understand how anyone can be bothered about them giving this show more money for season two than they gave garbage like the Kenobi show.
It's OUTRAGEOUS, it's UNNECESSARY and no matter what they $pend I WILL NOT SUPPORT THEM or watch their garbage. After Kenobi, and only watched Ashoka to see Hayden, I have not watched anything since, nor will I. Hate what Disney has done to Star Wars and what they're doing to their own legacy films. Sith Kennedy has not only destroyed Star Wars but went after George Lucas with intense vengeance. She had all of the Legends material and would have made stunning successes and absolute accolades had she used that material for future SWs programs finishing out Star Wars and completing it the way it was intended. That's what the fan base wanted.
Theres a video i watched about how hollywood over spends on their films and shows so they dont have to pay the actors and crew percentages of their profits. They do shady things like loan money from themselves with massive interest rates. And on paper its a massive expenditure but in reality the money lirerally goes from them, to them. This stuff needs to be called out more so people learn about it
I have fallen out of love with Star Wars if I’m being honest because of this stupid company that doesn’t know anything about making good stories, Disney is the reason why I have stopped making my own Star Wars UA-cam videos because my love for this franchise has died and it really saddens me because since I first saw revenge of the sith back in 2005, I was a superfan of the franchise but since Disney took ownership of the franchise and simply destroyed it bit by bit, it takes it’s toll and for now my love for Star Wars is not there anymore. I am looking forward to Vader episode 2 but right now, I won’t be going back to Star Wars anytime soon unfortunately. Thank you Theory for being the voice for so many who feel the same or similarly as we do as the OG fans who grew up with either the prequels or the originals or even both, theory you are an absolute gem in the Star Wars community and I give you all the praise and love in the world for giving us true Star Wars and content that I think George would be proud of, love you theory now and forever.
Here’s why Obi series had such a low budget. 1. Obi is Lucas canon 2. He’s old 3. He’s a powerful white man that’s one of the good guys. Sadly, all 3 reasons go against everything Disney promotes.
Solo bombed because the severe damage that was already done to the franchise with"The Force Awakens", and "The last Jedi". That has more relevance than character importance. What Jar Jar Abrams and Ruin Johnsson left behind was a devastated wasteland that once was Star Wars.
I liked the Force Awakens, and I like JJ Abrams "mystery box" method. I absolutely hated the Last Jedi, Diana Johnson ruined the sequel trilogy. He should had done Rogue one, and let JJ Abrams do the Last Jedi.
Andor is by far the best Star wars project Disney has done. The budget is crazy. But even if they threw that same money at Obiwan, all the money in the world wouldn't have saved it from that God awful script
Andor has a minority main character. Obi-Wan does not. I think that plays a big role for Kennedy. For the record, I really like Andor. But the titular character is probably the least interesting part of the show.
It is further proof that Disney has NO IDEA on how to make good Star Wars content. They focus in all the wrong areas and characters. And the ones they want us to like (Rey) they do not develop her character at all.
Considering season 2 was an incompetent mess, yes it was WAY too high. They dropped half the writing staff and somehow spent more money than season 1? Not sure I believe that

I want to believe that the failure of the production of The Acolyte, Boba Fett, and Obi-Wan is what has made Disney reconsider its budget for series and movies, particularly which ones to prioritize and which not to. It's a shame that Obi-Wan fell into that group, but I hope it leads to a change for the better.

@officialmonarchmusic People forget that it was GL original idea for Anakin to have a Padawan for his new clone wars animated series back then. Also GL guided folini in Alot of things when writing the set up and structure of the clone wars animated series. A lot of fans try to rewrite that fact because they was anti George Lucas at that time. This idea that star wars is only for children. A lot of people purposely mis construct what George Lucas was saying behind that thought process. All 6 of George Lucas Star wars films was never kid-friendly. They were made for young people between the age of 12 -21. Because at that age at that time. Most 21 years old males would still be single with a lot of pass time to kill. Star wars never was designed to talk down too young 12 and 13 year old boys. This is why Star wars appeal because it had that darkness inside of the characters and writing.Folini made the live-action ahsoka to look stupid. Because he was inexperienced as a showrunner / director.
Why do people keep going on about these? Disney get tax breaks and benefits from the government depending on how much they spend. Disney outsource and pay for everything from set design right down to catering...but Disney also owns those companies! So while it might look like Disney is spending that amount of money, they aren't really because they are paying themselves.

These budgets are getting outta hand
Embezzling must be
Justifiable raising cost for net positive in long run
Andor is awesome though. I hate Disney but Andor is a masterpiece that rivals the original George Lucas saga and extends it in a way that I had never expected or deemed necessary. Go get a torrent (don't pay Disney) and watch it, you won't regret it.

Andor is great, and it's connection to Rogue One likely made it an easy sell.
It blows my mind they weren't able to do the same with Kenobi.
Disney seems to give us genuinely good content when they're not trying to base a project around a legacy character. Mando, Andor, and now Skeleton Crew, all end up being great because they're not confined to prewritten, established characters. Disney clearly has no idea how to handle those.

Andor shows that if you spent the right amount of money on the right passionate people you can get something deserving of the price tag.

@ZenMonkeyGod he wouldn't have done it unless KK offered him lot of money.. This explains the movie like budget for a TV show.

Quality is not the issue for them. Skin color/gender is.
11:00 - The only thing that makes sense on this is that Lucas gets royalties on the old characters but somehow Disney gets to own or keep the revenue on the new ones? So Disney wants to build a new brand that they mostly own and cut Lucas out of it?
Bingo ✨
Lucas isn’t getting royalties on Reva or Osha figures, wouldn’t be much anyways 😂

They shouldn't have spent zero on the entire project. The movie shouldn't have been made.

Merry Christmas, Theory.
Don't forget Maul was there.
Oh, Disney Star Wars is _definitely_ Kathy's legacy alright. No Star Wars fan will ever forget her.
They want to spend money on characters George Lucas didn’t create, they want their own legacy, whatever that is. They don’t care about fans.

Rey was a concept art female Jedi that George created name Keira and Disney use that concept art girl change her name to Rey instead.
One Way Out!
and they cry that arcane was too high
Also arcane directly drove sales in the game offsetting costs other shows can do
Considering season 2 was an incompetent mess, yes it was WAY too high. They dropped half the writing staff and somehow spent more money than season 1? Not sure I believe that
@@Canibalteaspoon159 mess can be too harsh...a bit rush, yes...but it was not bad by all means...ot from my standar point at least...from a LOL player perspective it was enjoyable and from LOL fans i think they are mostly happy...not perfect...but it was well done enough to wrapped up everything it need
It’s because they had exzellent writers and directors for Andor. And for Kenobi they hired 3rd row
Get rid of KK and find some leadership that actually cares about the lore and not agendas.
Exactly
Could you imagine 64 million in the hands of 10 separate superfans with amateur talent? Incredible.
Idk, have you seen Transformers Prime Galvatrons revenge?
@ I have not. But more chances with passionate people who understand the value of money just might work out spread ten different ways.
Anytime anyone says "superfan" now my mind goes to that RoP shill going MuH GuRl GaLaDrIeLlE
I don't think they spent that, I think they make their new shows buy the shit from the flops, like acolyte props for inflated value. Then they can claim huge cost each time & pass the parcel on losses.
rogue one and andor are SW content with very mature treatment .. it's not for everyone but they are very good sw content.. that being said, as good as the first season was, i don't see any special effects or cgi that would warrant it to be that expensive..
Rogue one reinvented a story that had already been told in star wars. Not sure why people love retcons.
Andor 's so Mature it has a guy eating cereal while his mom berates him as an Allegory for Incels in the modern day.
? Literal kid shit from Reddit.
@@havingfun-u4g Rogue One was 4/10 before you even consider the many bothan spies that lost their lives to secure the death star plans, after that consideration it gets bumped down because fuck unneeded retcons.
Andor Season 1 is easily better than Rogue One, which makes it basically the best Disney Star Wars anything right now :s
Bothan spies stole the plans for the second Death Star not the first one ... so Andor and Rogue One are not recon films but explaining a plot point unaddressed in A New Hope ...
At least Andor is dope. But Acolyte sucked. I agree that priorities are off underfunding legacy characters.
it’s disneys money they can spend it how they want. Im so over Star Wars at this point idc about any of it
Skeleton crew is good wdym 🤣🤣
KENOBI has less funding because it’s less of a risk taker
Andor was made out from corporate interference.Good writing and production cost money. Andor had that. Ahsoka could have the same thing. If dave folini was not the showrunner. If they actually hired a quality show runner to write and direct ahsoka with Dave giving ideas. That show would have been amazing.
Exactly. His ideas werent bad but he didnt execute them very well
@lucasschultz he made a very strong actress look like she cannot act. He should never been put in that position in the first place. Ahsoka 2 do not need him as a showrunner or director. We need an experienced showrunner and director.
THANK YOU! Filoni is a massive egotist and he's let his fan reputation go to his head. He needs to be reminded that he's just a man who doesn't know everything
@@BigdogGaming-sm3ljYeah. Filoni is a pretty good director of animation, and that’s it. Not a good writer, not a good live action director
I loved Andor. Can’t wait for season 2
Andor s2 must be 80% of that budget lol. I actually liked that show a lot, but when it nearly jumpcuts to Andor in prison, I went back three times to see if there was some reason why he was imprisoned. It just seems odd the way the show plays out, "ah going on vacation," bam in jail for a really awesome but ??? segment.
To be fair, A New Hope's 11 million from the early 70's is now worth ~79.4 million. But still, your point is quite well made.
ya thanks for doing ther inflation and a new hope was a very impressive by the seat of ur pants gorilla shoot obvisouly not a great comparison
@@TopShelfFandomVids*guerrilla
79 million vs 3xx million or 6xx million is still astronomical. To be fair.
@@UA-camzzzzz To be fair, do please read the last sentence of my original post again.
I really enjoyed Andor S1, but the fact it had a MUCH larger budget than Obi-Wan is criminal.
agree on the low funding of kenobi, but Andor's budget shows in the quality of it.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays, Theory. Thanks for everything you've done with all of your endeavours this year. All that hard work is much appreciated. I can't wait to see what next year brings.
Shit if Disney handed you 645 million, we'd probably have three new shows, three new movies, and they would all be amazing asf! Disney is pocketing shit...
Id say it was worth every penny, Andor was a really good show.
Theory Andor was a masterpiece and if it costs a lot I don't really care because it’s practically saving the SW franchise rn
lowkey kind of yes. maybe not a "mastapeace" but easily the best Disney Star Wars anything out right now (and ngl also the most star wars feeling story and show, unless you enjoy the flanderisation of the setting...)
