My name is Samantha Wayne and I have been creating advocacy videos on UA-cam since 2009. This channel was formerly known as Live Hope Lupus and was created in order to start a community for those living with chronic illnesses. In September 2019, I transitioned to a plant-based diet and I have found my body is responding well to it. Along with my lifestyle change, I am learning to alter my focus more on the positive. My current content will focus on my healing journey, what food I am eating, and everyday life. I will still be posting an occasional update about my health. I hope you all are ready to join me on this crazy journey of healing. We are all learning how to navigate this life together. If you have subscribed, thank you! I appreciate your support and look forward to talking with you all in the comments.

So sorry you aren’t feeling well. Hoping you get relief really soon. I feel that way when my ferritin dips below 70. My body will let me know when it’s time for an iron infusion. Headaches, nausea, leg cramps, chest pain, ringing in ears, etc. The iron infusions are a miracle 😀. I love your haircut and I really do hope you feel better sooner than later.😘

Have you consulted with a hematologist? Rheumatologist are obviously familiar with SLE flares of anemia but blood specialists should be on the team! Hope you are able to get your counts up soon! 🙏😷

Love your new haircut! Sorry to hear you weren't able to go off the prednisone without issues. I bet you have a lot of fatigue as well. I hope they get it back up there. I'm down to 3mg of prednisone so grateful for that. Good luck with selling the house.

I'm so glad I found your channel! I was just diagnosed with Wegener's Granulomatosis and Anti-GBM /Goodpasture's Syndrome. Very rare autoimmune diseases called vasculitis.

I came across your channel as I was following goodbye lupus protocol... Mine is supposedly RA or sjogren. Suffering for the last 4 years. Trying to control through diet, it's been very hard. Very limited set of food.
I'm trying vitamin D high dose with magnesium and vit k2 since a month it's helping a lot. Able to eat lot more variety now including cruciferous vegs, nightshade... Give a try. Check Coimbra protocol or other books etc.... Get well soon

Yeah, I have yet to experience a transfusion with this. I hear it isn't the best method but sometimes all we can do. I hope your numbers improve soon as well!

After 5 months of extreme fatigue (and tons of other symptoms) and my lupus diagnosis in October, I started getting better. Maybe staying out of the sun helped? I haven't been taking the medicine long enough for it to start taking affect yet. After about 6 great weeks, finally able to start working on my projects again, the fatigue is back and I was asleep during the afternoon again. Very frustrating. I have iron deficient anemia, and I suspect in the next couple of months it will be time for another iron infusion. I hope your anemia gets better soon.

I just finished iron infusions about 2 weeks ago. Have you had to get them quite often?

@@woodswal This is all new to me, as of April 2021, so I've just had the one iron infusion. That brought my hemoglobin back up high, and my iron levels. But last test my iron levels were dropping, so I expect the January test to show my hemoglobin going down again too. I keep being told hemolytic anemia is caused by lupus, and iron deficiency anemia means you are bleeding somewhere. But I've had all kinds of scans, and a colonoscopy - no bleeding. Yet lots of the lupus people on UA-cam have iron deficient anemia also.

It can be unbelievable how tired these illnesses can make us. I hope you find relief again soon so you can get back to working on your projects. Thank you and I hope yours improves as well.

there is something that i don’t understand…does also your husband have lupus or any other related env disease? because if you had ebv and mono before lupus it’s most likely that you passed also ebv to your husband when ebv is reactivating due to low immune protection.
