Thank you so much for this tutorial. I just could not wrap my head around this when I thought of it and your explanation made it all click. I am definitely using this in my knitting.

Very nice explanation of how to switch the ribbing. I know you have spoken about it but a visual learner like myself it is wonderful to see it actually completed. I chose to do a twisted 1x2 rib for my field sweater rib and am loving the look. ❤

Thank you for this tutorial. I have just started a fresh pair of socks and used this method, I love the way it looks, and it worked out perfect never having done a German short row.

Hi Tash ,thanks for this tutorial looks much neater back to front. I’ve just finished the April cardigan and I’ve got to pickup 340 stitches. Would you block it first it’s very curled and I’ll have to knit wrong side too. I would appreciate you advice. (It’s wool and mohair) I thank you cheers Merilyn from NZ

That might be easier to do if you could at least steam block the edge to reduce the curling before you pick up stitches. :)

I'm knitting a sweater top-down and want to do this for the neck. however what would happen once I get to the bottom of the sweater? can I do the short row first, flip the work inside out, knit the ribbing, cast off, and then flip it inside out again? would I have to use two short rows--one before the ribbing and one before I cast off?

Hi Emily. You can do it again at the bottom ribbing but you dont need to flip again for the bind off. If you bind off in pattern where you knit the knits and purl the purls, that looks the same from both sides. So, in essence, you can bind off from the wrong side as well without having to flip back.
