Don’t ever try to get policygenius to give you a homeowners insurance policy if you have a small woodworking business. Went through all the rigmarole and the kids with me without warning two months into our new policy.
With the Pica pencil didn't you notice the graphite is a bit too soft?
Thanks for letting people know about O’Keeffes Working Hands!!!!! It’s my mother-in-law’s company that she started and developed herself to help her dad who was a rancher in Southern Oregon and always had cracked hands/fingers.
My son is 4 and loves watching you, he said to me “He cracks me up.” Keep up with the good entertaining and knowledgeable videos!!
Obligatory "Where's the air stream?" "What about the cider?"
😂 Morning Jason!
The cubitron link goes to Soms children’s poetry books. I guess I could read the poems while sanding but that wasn’t quite what I had in mind when I clicked it.
Huge fan! Watch your videos every Saturday. You are one of the reasons I started getting into fine woodworking a few years back.
If you’re ever in the Central Florida area and need anything, let me know
That was a big dollop of O'keefes! 😂 a little goes a long wayyy!
Good morning from South Texas! Your videos are always a part of my Saturday morning routine. When you don’t drop one…I always feel like my weekends are incomplete. (I guess you deserve breaks too!) Thank you for your database of knowledge with all things woodworking. Keep ‘those videos coming. Make it a great weekend!
Woah. I’ve never heard anything so sad.
The 3m paper is awesome and worth every penny. I have some on my sander and today when I went to do some sanding I pulled it back see what grit it was and the numbers were worn off but the paper was still good. I’ll be using a sharpie going forward. That paper not only last, it cuts extremely well cutting your sanding time down.
Thank you for this video, it's awesome! Those plungers are a staple in the screen printing industry because they're used to dispense screen washing fluid. There's also another product similar to Okeeffe's out there called Bag Balm that works incredibly well. It's most notably used to lubricate cows' udders because they crack, and get injured from being milked. I used to use it when I was training to become a brick mason because mud will suck all the moisture from your hands.
The Why and How is a FANTASTIC book! Great recommendation!
I absolutely love my Benchmade 470 Osborne Emissary so much I bought 2. It has been my EDC for over a decade!!!
You damn near sacrificed your leg during intro. What dedication...you are thr man!!!
Merely a scratch
Pica dry is the best move I made for marking
The tape dispenser idea is genius!
I've carried a Benchmade for more than 20 years. They're just simply well made knives. Their customer service and LifeSharp program are just awesome. 100% worth the money.
Drunk elf Jason needs his own UA-cam channel
Drunk elf is how we know it's the Holidays
Working Hands is as amazing as Jason describes.
Always enjoy seeing what products people use. I am going to have to try the sandpaper for sure.
I am a wood turner and I recently switched to 3m Cubitron 3 inch sand paper, it is by far the best sand paper I have used. Sanding a bowl used to take 4-5 sheets of the generic brand I used and now it is 1 sheet of 3m. Now I just need the 3 in rotex sander.
Great video. First time viewer, but now subscribed. I have had a branding iron for.a long time, but was frustrated trying to get it squared to the piece…until I found the Rockler branding iron guide. Game changer. I highly recommend it for anyone who brands their work.
Great list, thanks!
I'll be adding a couple of those solvent dispensers to the shop for sure. My feet get super dry and crack during the winter so I use a lot of that okeefe's foot cream. It works wonders. I need to try that 3m cubitron stuff.
Good morning. Thanks for your great content and the ISO Tunes order info. I've been in law enforcement for over 25 years, and woodworking is the one thing that has kept my sanity intact. I've been needing more usable ear protection for the shop. I saw that Peterson Pipe chart on the wall in one of your videos, and then a short time later in another video, you mentioned making pipes. That is an area I wanted to explore but have yet to. Thanks for your bourbon tips. I, too, am a conesour of single malt scotches and bourbons. Be well, and God Bless.
Bench made is even more amazing when yo factor in the customer service..top notch! Broke off the tip of the blade using it as a pry bar. Sent it in and 3 weeks later it was re-profiled for nearly nothing.
Love the tape dispensers..I have one of the 5lb ones for my scotch tape, never thought about it for the larger rolls!
O'Keeffe's (which you have misspelled in the comments) is the best. I am surprised more UA-cam woodworkers don't talk about dry hands and what lotions they use to combat the dryness. Working with wood dries out my hands something fierce. Keep up the good work!
The Pica pencil is a game changer for sure! I am a former architectural drafter (yup, by hand) and we used what’s called a ‘pointer’ pencil and those things are magic.
I love the tape !! I did the same thing as a kid taped everything
Love the channel. My new must have tool is the Bourbon Moth stop block. Just got it today and it's perfect. I put it on my 3" Rockler miter fence and it is far superior to Rockler's own stop block. Looks cooler too. I'll be getting another one for the right side fence. 👍
PS...I'm not sponsored by this channel... unfortunately 😒
So many great tips definitely going to check them out thanks for sharing
i have Okeifs, my knuckles became super dry and cracked one year, completely healed in just a week with their cream
I've carried a benchmade knife for years and still do to this day. It's a fantastic knife.
Great ideas and thank you for sharing!
Wonderful keep it coming
That acetone dispenser is basically an XXL version of what you see in the nail salon. I love it.
And doctor’s office. Although I wonder if the acetone would destroy the plastic bottles and needs the metal one.
@@1packatakyou can buy acetone in plastic dispenser bottles so it doesn't eat the plastic. I have one for many years, pass down from my wife's nail polish remover.
These are used for Blanket Wash in print shops
Great ideas. The tape dispensers sound like a good idea but they leave a serrated edge which can be problematic for double sided tape. You didn't mention that the Pica Dry pencil leads come in a variety of colors. I bought it with a pack of white leads which I use exclusively on dark woods.
Darn you, now I'm adding yet another pencil to the toolbox! BTW, I purchased my first Benchmade about 12 years ago and have never looked back. Great recommendation and they are made in the good ol USA! (I have a 940 sitting in my pocket as I type.)
Wow this acetone thingy is awesome!
Off The Grid knives are a good choice too. I’m very happy with mine.
I haven't even gotten into the video yet but i am impressed by your need to entertain us that you willingly injure yourself. Sorry it happened but Thanks for your commitment!
Jason, I put your video on the TV this morning so my wife could watch and maybe get a hint or two for Xmas. Instead, she was crying at your bourbon skit when you were the elf. Hey here is one to put on your list to try....Down Home, made by Whiskey Thief. I have about 125 different flavors on my bourbon bar, and it is among my favorites. Love your videos
The ISOtunes code looks to be working. Make sure you have both sets of earbuds in your cart for the discount to apply.
Great bourbon choices
I really like these Amazing products!
Well done!
Forward... Love your videos!
The pica mechanical pencil is awesome, i recommend the jointers set.
For your older pair of boots, buy a pair of elastic laces and replace them. It takes a few on/wear/off times, but once they are adjusted, they become slip ons, too. :)
I'm not sure if it's a problem on my end or not, but that link for the Cubitron Sandpaper seems to go to a site selling children's art classes, not sandpaper.
I still have the old-timey version of the Pica I used in Art School 40 years ago, made by Staedtler. While I love using that kind of pencil, their shortcoming in the shop is that they don't fit in the guide holes on measuring tools.
I use a opinel no.6 knife as part of my EDC. Its lightweight, affordable and I like to use it for carving. My dad uses one as a fishing knife.
Cubitron ... He was the most abrasive Autobot .... he kept rubbing Optimus Prime the wrong way
Good info.
I have the festool ETS EC 150/5 EQ-Plus and it is my favorite sander , I also have the pro5 Ltd ($99 special) but I rarely use it , the tape dispenser is a awesome idea
Did a tasting at Stranahan’s while visiting Denver a few months ago. Really enjoyed it.
He cracks me up.
That acetone dispenser is amazing and nothing I ever heard of before
Thanks for sharing. The Whiskey is a nice touch. I am definitely sending this to Ellie.
I’ve been using Benchmade knives for over 20 years…made in USA! Actually in Oregon…the price is absolutely worth the quality, I’ve had a few different models and they can’t be beat.
I need to build a fishing rod holder with some tackle storage. And id like it to look nice enough to put in my living room.
With the Okeefs I put a finger cott taped on overnight works very well.
Love the cubitron sandpaper, and honestly cheaper than some of the alternatives...
Great episode. But, I will caution people about using and storing Acetone. It should ONLY be stored in a sealed container. Acetone vapors are heavy and will spread along the floor. The slightest spark will ignite the vapor which burns with an almost invisible dull blue flame. You feel the extreme heat before you see the fire. So, I would be cautious about using Acetone in a plunger can. I know many welding shops use acetone that way but it is very dangerous.
This is a sealed can which is specifically designed to store acetone! 😂
Acetone evaporates extremely fast.
I have this plunger can and stopped putting Acetone in it because even in this can it evaporates VERY quickly
Then in goes boom and then me and my brotherhood are called to put the fire out
That's funny, I have a small plastic acetone pump dispenser just like that, but for fingernail polish removal.
I wonder which one came first...
Wow! I’m going shopping with you
I like Corn Huskers Lotion. Put it on before and after woodworking sessions. It doesn't leech in and stain wood like some others.
so chaotic/good. Total dad joke energy. keep it up and thanks for the video injured pappa
You're so goofy 😂 great video man!
Good Morning From Mexico!
Duke cannons bloody knuckles works great too!
I had benchmades in the Army and I've tried other brands since and none of them that I've tried stack up as far as quality. They are spendy but I love them.
Great vid. Love drinking elf Jason!
Oh yeah to the 4 Roses! And everything else!
On a previous episode you made a mention of a Caulk you really liked using, because it never shrank and had great elasticity.
Literally bought my 5 year old a roll of painters tape for his birthday because he loves doing the same thing… plus it kept him away from my blue tape in my shop lol
Torsion bar knives (assisted open) are legal in California, I like Kershaw.
True Lemon in your AG1, game changer!!
Oh, Subscribed!
Another great video.
Guess I will be ordering a few things 😂
Loved the whiskey selections. I was drinking Stagg 22b watching the video
I mix my whiskey with pelagrino sparkling water. And simple syrups mix good with some ice.
16:04 my dad was a snowmobile mechanic during winter and his hands used to crack and bleed…. Then he found Silicone Hands from Avon… sounds crazy but only thing that worked and he didn’t hate using either. He wasn’t a fan of lotion and the way it feels 😸
Your link to the sandpaper takes me to an art page
Including early elementary art, no less! 😉
Yep. Same here!
Haha yeah it dose.
Hey... Don't hate on Jason for what inspires him!
That’s awesome, everyone needs some art.
I need someone to make hats saying “Go football”.
The pencil, the bourbon, and the sander. Cheers! Oh honorable mention to the working hands.
The elf! 😂 And ending with " 'Murica!" 😂😂😂
I love bourbonmoth🤩!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good ideas. 🤔👍
Okeefe’s is for real. Good stuff
O'Keefes is the bomb.
You had me at Benchmade.
We need an entire episode with the Elf!
For the Benchmade you pay for it but it will be with you forever, unless you loose it. That is all I use for personal use and also with the S.O. Auto or not, my opinion they are one of the best.
Another way to remove the halo from branding is with denatured alcohol. Works for laser engravings too.
3:03 I have a 20 year old Benchmade and I've never needed a 2nd knife. (Also, they made an amazing mini Keychain sharpener years ago, and it is unbelievably awesome. It had two different sets of ceramic rods as well as a set of diamond rods. Best of all, they were $10. But alas, they are no more 😢
6:37 this bit 😆🤣😂🤣😆🦛🦛🦛
I fold end of tape over and stick it to itself so you always got the end easily accessible. Only downside is you loose that quarter inch every time
Fun fact, Michters now distilled in Kentucky, was originally distilled in rural Pennsylvania and dates back to 1770's. Their motto, the Whiskey that warmed the revolution.
Benchmade is also made in Oregon
You missed the absolutely awesome perk of Benchmade knives...LifeSharp services... cleaning, oiling, adjustments, and re-sharpening FOR LIFE!!! I have used it sooo many times after my knife gets trashed doing tough jobs...comes back clean, beautiful, and SHARP!
The 3m paper is great if u have the right dust extraction and sanding large flat surfacing. But u hit and edge and the grit is gone
Ah this time of the year huh.. 😄
