    That brand new motor left unused means you gotta build a new boat.

    The "trick" of going over your tape lines with the base color is so important to acheiving perfect lines. This is very common in modeling at small scales. Thanks for sharing this trick.

      Every time I have tried this, the paint tears in spots.

    • @w2ttsy670

      @@johnh9962the second part of the pro tip is pulling your tape off as soon as the top coat has been laid.
      You won’t get tearing if the paint is still wet.
      Also if you’re pin striping on top of your base colour, use yellow frog tape rather than green as it’s gentler on the paint surface than the green or blue ones are.

    Dude, the performance of that thing looked a lot better than the doubters were expecting. Actually looked pretty fun except being cold!! Don’t like cold. But you made a cattle trough look like a fun boat and that’s all that really matters. Keep them coming!!! Love every video!!!

      I reckon its super prone to dropping its ass under power, even as I watched it being made,
      Needs an outboard bracket and to be able to pitch the bottom of the leg forward and get the nose down. A couple of strakes and then it might steer too.

    I CAN’T believe that actually worked. Definitely needs a lot of weight up front but still amazed it worked. I thought it’d turn over the moment it was placed in water. Great job!!!

      I thought it would be far more nervous, this shape is probably more stable back to front. But it definitely beats floating aimlessly pretty convincingly.

    This. This is the stuff UA-cam was created for. This was great and the last few minutes cracked me up! The christening with the milk scene had me laughing out loud the way you just slammed it down onto the bow of the boat. Haha. Also , two bear attacks? Are you just going to see how many of those you can put into the videos before people are like, "okay dude. That's enough"? The quality of this video makes up for the fact that my Saturday morning routine was completely unwound by you not having a new video up. 😉 It was well worth the wait! As always, I cant wait for the next one!

  • @tomspooner3436
    @tomspooner3436 7 місяців тому +32

    I mentioned this in the first video. But you should incorporate a cooler in the bow of the boat. It would put a little bit more weight in the front which it looks like it needs. It would keep a cooler out of your personal area. And bonus feature you can keep snacks up there! Everyone loves snacks.

    • @Ivegotwormsinme
      @Ivegotwormsinme 7 місяців тому +1

      The whole time he was building the front seat I was thinking exactly that. "Alright, that's a good place for an ice chest." No ice chests to be found on this boat. I mean, I'm sure it'll be all hooked-up come next summer. I know I'd not only have a hinge on that front seat, I'd split it down the middle and hinge it there so you don't have to pick the whole thing up. I'd throw some rod holders on there and I'd even put a little table on each side with can holders and I'd make a cutting board to fit into the can holders to transform them into a place to cut up bait. Oh yes, I'd have a great time modifying this thing.

  • @bogus_not_me
    @bogus_not_me 7 місяців тому +23

    I'm amazed that it performed as well as it did, considering the massive misplaced center of gravity! Lots of weight to the stern, lots of flotation to the bow!

    • @johnlee7085
      @johnlee7085 5 місяців тому +2

      There really isn’t that much flotation in the bow vs the stern. The boat is quite pointy in the bow vs wide in the stern. The flotation is a function of the amount of displaced water. There’s more water displaced in the stern vs the bow.
      You might be looking at all the foam in the bow and think that adds flotation, but it really doesn’t. It guarantees flotation in case there’s a leak but it actually adds weight without increasing flotation. There’s no increase in displaced water after adding the foam but there is probably 10 pounds or so of foam.
