I always make my grilled cheese with mayonnaise but on the outside of the bread instead of butter and definitely Dukes
@@joleenjenkins I do that with regular sandwiches and for grilled cheese I only use butter but I’m going to do that for grilled cheese now :)
Not sure why, but I'm not a fan of using mayo. Both on the inside, and in substitution of the butter. The flavor and the smell of cooked mayo..... 🤢 First time I tried making it, I was looking forward to it, but it just wasn't for me 😂
@@Victoria-pu9bm Did you use Duke’s?I’ve never noticed a smell and everyone I’ve ever made it for didn’t know that I wasn’t using butter.
I've pulled mine apart and added a little mayo after cooking before but I didn't know you could cook it with the mayo on it already.

Pro tip: When slicing bread with any kind of crust ...it’s much easier to flip the loaf upside down and then slice without much pressure and letting the knife do the work. This will give you more even slices without interfering with the structure of the inside/dough. 😊. Loving the channel and many of the recipes!!

Here's a good tip my husband taught me , butter and mayo spread, on the outside of grilled cheese instead of inside. I thought it was weird but omg so good and adds so much flavor.

Guys you should try adding a slice of cheese on the outside of the bread. It adds a whole nother layer of flavor and crunch. I usually do swiss but you can really do it with any sliced cheese . So freaking good.

Jaclyn’s cheese mixture is also good on a baguette. We put the bread on the barbecue grilled and sometimes add different veg like olive, onion, tomatoes. It is always gone first.
