I was looking for this game for some time because I had forgotten the name and had very limited information like what type of game it was and the art style. Lucky, I was able to find it and watching this brought back sooo many memories, like the wave of nostalgia was unreal. I'm surprised I still remember some of the levels ans boss battles XD.
DruidVorse yep. Outside Lutz beat it in 12:42 a ways back. I watched it live, but the video dropped too many frames on twitch. There is no real proof that exists for the time.
Yes the flame in this game is the stronger weapon. And yeah, that ceiling glitch is wild stuff. It was discovered by tasing, but whitmanprice made it viable for humans to do.

I’ve done that with the first contra for fun before, but definitely don’t have an interest in trying to push something like that. These games are already rude enough as it is. Haha
You have 1/60th of a second to hit both sets of heads on the exact frame they start to separate. Then you have to keep damaging them or the glitch will stop before they die.

I figured out the extra lives code by randomly pushing button combinations. Right, left, down, up, a, b, start. 10 lives.
In super c japan version, if you use the code you got 30 life..

That was amazing! Do you use a rapid button controller or are you just crazy fast on pushing fire? Crazy good either way.
Just a standard nes controller. The leaderboards won’t allow turbo submissions.

Can you speedrun subsequent playthroughs, after you beat the game it starts over with more enemies and faster projectiles??
