28:40 shouldn't you enable the feature rather than disabling it? Enable "disable" remote desktop sharing? Otherwise it's Disable "disable" remote desktop sharing, or am I wrong?
Brian, thank you for taking the time to do this. I far prefer the longer indepth videos as you impart so much knowledge that short ones just can't provide. Much appreciated.
Sausage! Just wish I'd had the video open on my PC, my TV doesn't have an ad blocker! This made everything take a lot longer as I had to keep picking my remote up to skip all the ads. I don't know if it's an effect of all the changes, but, my PC seems snappier now. A very worthwhile video.
This video and all your other videos on Windows 11 are proof to me, how inconvenient and how much extra hard work and effort is needed to be able to use and operate Windows 11 as an OS, that should be more user friendly in the first place. If I was a brand new user to Windows 11 and decided to start using the OS I would have to spend days to just get it up and running in an efficient and useable way that will protect my privacy and also give ease of access and usability to be able to perform day to day PC tasks. My biggest problem is if you are a small business or even a larger one, you would need now to re train all the staff to re use an OS that should be realistically easy and simple to use. It does not do as it claims from the moment you install it or start it, like most other OS's do. It way too blogged down with useless un needed bloatware, spyware and adware. Microsoft had one job to do, that was make Windows more user friendly, they did the opposite in my opinion, well not just mine as the latest user stats suggest on 27% use Windows 11. Then how much waste on the planet and the landfills with all these old obsolete PC's that can no longer run Windows 11 or higher. It is a big scam to get you to buy new hardware when you do not need it, during a cost of living crisis.

I'm starting to consider going back to Mac. I had a MacBook Pro back in 2009 to 2012 ish. The days of Snow Leopard and LION. I sold my Mac because of the closed nature and planned obsolescence of it. I was forming a negative opinion of Apple and how they were forcing things onto their users. But Microsoft is forever forcing more and more privacy violating telemetry into people's machines. They have also joined Apple in the world of Forced obsolescence with their arbitrary hardware requirements. I've read that will get worse with Windows 12 as Microsoft wants to develop their own Silicon for their AI roadmap. So all the things that i disliked about Apple, Microsoft is now guilty of. So the only dividing factor between the two platforms anymore, is User Experience, and software compatibility / Gaming. I don't' care that much about Gaming and i use mostly cross platform FOSS software. So for me at this point in time, the only thing separating the two platforms is User Experience. Love them or hate them. Apple has always delivered a premium user experience. Very refined OS and the way they integrate all of their products and services into one another. It really makes it nice to use. I'm seriously considering going back to the Mac world. I've been using Linux for a while now too. While i like it better than Windows, the overall user experience is a miss. Is Bootcamp still a thing? Dual Booting Windows and Mac OS side by side, seems like the best of both worlds at this point. Anyways. Sorry to get a little off topic. Just thinking out loud, i guess. LOL!!!
Sausage! Excellent video Brian. I just received my new Dell XPS 8690 yesterday. Two comments, how do we get the Windows 10 folders back? These Windows 11 folders are horrible. And, how do we remove the large date and time on Windows 11 on the lock screen and move it into the corner? With Windows 10, I had a photo or logo that showed up first there. I have this PC looking like the HP PC before it with the Windows 7 start menu on the lefthand side.
Sausage hahaha that’s a funny code 😂😂 I copied you all the way till the “files “ part. Don’t understand the “cmd” part .too scary to attempt. ❤❤❤❤❤ this was some interesting lessons 🎉🎉🎉 good job 👍 keep
Sausage!Hi Brian, thanks for this video, this is exactly what I was looking for! Just one question if you read this : I can not find where to copy/paste the last section (49min) regarding disabling services with CMD. Do I need to be on your discord to acces it? I really like this format by the way.
28:45 the way it say "Disable remote Desktop Sharing" is all ready a negative, and if set to Disable, it is like 2 negative would be come positive = enable remote desktop sharing, this kind of wording really confusing. If it is "Remote Desktop Sharing" and the option is Enable or Disable, it would be really clear. Now event if i set this to Disable, i don't really know if it's indeed disable, or it is double negative turn to positive aka i enable remote desktop sharing.
double negatives only make a positive if multiplied in mathematics or in meaning with speech when you say "that's not not-true" and even then it's not really a true double negative because "not true" would have to be combined into its own term in order to specify what is "not".

What's frustrating is that every time you click on a feature to change, the settings window pops up towards the top left & you move it to the center. Is there no way to force windows to open every single pop-up and window smack-bang in the middle of the screen ??

I would think you would want allow Indexing of Encrypted files disabled.. I would think the Indexing would slow down your pc. I see you set it to enabled though.
Thanks for supplying ideas that might help privacy concerning Windows Data gathering mechanism but the real fix is do not use Windows in the first place . Windows will always find work arounds for these Band-Aids . I use Windows but I give them zero data other than my online activity . Anyone can do the same by not putting ANYTHING on your computer that has anything to do with you or your life or anyone you know. You can use a different computer , like a lap top , to keep all of your personal images and accounts etc etc on but that computer never gets on the internet other than initial installation . The only way data is transferred between that computer and others is an SSD card . So it is OK to NOT put any of your info on an internet connected computer and it is ok to use fake names and numbers and addresses as well . :O)
