I worked in the Transportation Department from 1977 to 2011, it was a great place to work, everyone was friendly and most of all family. I miss all the people from those days.
The back lot set at 10:04 looks just like the place they filmed a music video by The McCoys called Hang on Sloopy. Definitely worth a watch if you like watching a pretty girl dance. 😀
And to think that Fox Studios use to be a lot bigger but due massive losses on movies like "Cleopatra" and big budget musicals like"Doctor Doolittle" 20 Century Fox Studios sold a big portion of it's backlot to real estate developers back in the 1960s who then turned it into what is known as Century City today.
I don't understand why the Murdoch's are still displaying the 20th Century Fox-specific stage murals and Oscar memorabilia after selling out to D. Most of us were either laid-off or kicked off the lot (and Fox Plaza) right after the acquisition. Still, it's a great place to visit. Also, New York Street has been completely rebuilt from a few years ago. It looks basically the same, just a bit more contemporary. The studio store used to be amazing. Now it sells mostly hoodies with FOX printed on them.
Disney "Leased" the lot for several years. It's actually still officially the "FOX" lot. It allowed them to upgrade the lot. They're going to be doing a lot of renovation. It's sad. They'll be tearing down some of the old sound stages and building smaller sound stages. Not a lot of production going on at the lot currently. Primarily FOX television programming and some FX productions. New York Street was rebuilt because the structures were becoming unsafe. They got rid of some of the coolest details of New York Street. They made it more generic so that it can be dressed and made less noticible. I've been there 27 years. I've seen a lot of changes. With streaming/digital art there is less and less unique items to sell. I remember when it was filled with DVDs, Simpson cels, etc. Now it's primarliy FOX branded clothing. Still a cool place to work. I've seen and sometimes talked to celebrities while they're on the lot but it's not often. (Sarah Paulson was the nicest.)

I’ve been there a few times to see The Simpsons and Deadpool record lines. Such a cool lot
my old lot...used to work in Set lighting for a few years
LOVED this thanks for sharing
Murdoch-Fox still owns the lot, Disney only leases. Thanks for the BtS views!
I was wondering about that because Disney doesn't use the name Fox
This whole merger was a disaster, I wonder if they are just gonna remove all this once the lot expands.
This is still history.

I didn't see any of the feral patrol cats here. Must have been their coffee break.

And thanks to the movies of Marylin Monroe the lot stayed in business. That's not really mentioned too often.
