I wish this was three hours long.
agreed!
More like three days
I COMPLETELY disagree!
4 hours. Minimum.
This was fantastic and I wish it was 8 hours long. Spielberg seems like such a down to earth guy.
A down to earth guy worth three billion seven hundred million dollars(3,700,000,000). If you could save $10,000 every single day, then it would only take you 1,014 years to save 3.7 billion. I'm wondering if i can pay the light bill. I agree though he does seem pretty down to earth despite his enormous wealth and influence, he earned it to.
😷Se siente bien amigo te sientes bien fotos enfermito👈😐
I could listen to Spielberg all day.
The tour guide at 8:20 better have shut up and said "FOLKS LOOK TO YOUR RIGHT"
I
I would have been like HOLY SHIT
Replace folks with "Asians" and look with "move your cameras"
bunch of asian tourists who have no idea who he is
I've just found this Video and I was there on that day and spotted Spielberg driving around!
My 5 Favorite Spielberg Movies:
5. Raiders of the Lost Ark
4. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
3. The BFG
2. Jaws
1. Jurassic Park (My Favorite Movie Period)
Jurassic Park is also my favorite! Schindler´s list and The lost world: JP.
1: Saving Private Ryan
2: Schindler's List
3: Jaws
4: Raiders Of The Lost Ark
5: ET
I think my favourite is Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I just don't fancy having my heart ripped out by someone before plunged into a fire pit. Oh and that toy he uses to control people. Also kind of shows hierarchy. With the Queen and quests, to right down with the poor kids as slaves. Then there are the crocs, which kind of steal the show. I wouldn't want to go along that bridge though because I would have definitely been croc dinner.
Try to watch Schindler's list by spielberg.its a great film.
8:20 someone on that tour bus must shout "Hey it's Steven Spielberg!"
My gosh I could watch this for hours
Man I love Steven Spielberg, I would just like to thank him for his work one day
Steven sneaking on to the set of Torn Curtain and then being told to leave is epic.
I love steven Spielberg .
he's a cute man and beautiful and smart.
I want to give a kiss to Spielberg !!
==> True :)
RAPPI what?????
Had to come check this out after For Your Amusement. The tourists would love to see the Orca
Edit to say: this interview is actually dope as hell and this tourist is very glad she came to see this Orca
Is this tour open to the public? Obviously not guided by Spielberg (lol), but I'd love to do it someday, especially see the WOTW set and Bates Motel etc. Looks amazing!
Can you even imagine how lucky that guys is?????!!!!
The worst thing about this video is that it ends.
Imagine the tour bus realizing it was Spielberg
Spielberg is like an alternate Paul McCartney
Great
When the sniper got tanked out the tower in "Saving Private Ryan" that made lose my faith in God. Everything else was gold.
it doesn't get any better
Jaws. Jurassic Park. E.T. Indiana Jones.
Who is the man doing the interview?? :D
Found him if anyone else wants to know: Anthony Breznican
8:20 they're probably told not to say anything... unless the celebrity waves at them
Jurassic park is the best move
ptsd from making Jaws? wow thats an insult to any veteran that saw intense combat
Thumbs up if you came here because of RFR!
Is it just me or does Spielberg look a lot like tom hanks,
It would be ridiculous to think how much money he has made for Universal Studio's from all the movies over the years..... so i'm pretty sure he'll get that Boat built.
Can we tell the story of india mr steven
I'll give you a good story...dont be a white man shit director
To be in the passenger seat of a golf cart with Spielberg driving, chatting about movies while driving thru the Universal backlot...
I could die a happy man after that.
Kevin Finkbeiner I would love to take this ride as well.
I got to meet him and Peter Jackson at Comic con back in 2011 they're so nice. It awesome that they have stayed humble in Hollywood
me too. as a child I saw the name Spielberg on my favourite films. it was then. that I asked my mam how can I make movies. she did not know what to say lol. but I'd love to spend an hour with this great director and ask some serious questions.
Maybe they'll invent holograms with the knowledge of the individuals infused into the holograms and then you could actually talk to Steven Spielberg's Hologram, because I bet you if he could and had time, he is humble enough to actually talk to each and every one of his fans, but since there are so many people, so many that he wouldn't possibly be able to talk to all of them.
You all know, that he's been accused of being a pedofile like 3 or 4 different times, right? See what actor chrispian glovers open letter he who about the man. Then see if he's still a nice and humble of person you all claim him to be.
That's too much to ask ,for me to see him is enough.
My mom met him at the studio when he was filming Close Encounters and he looked like he'd just woken up and he said to everyone, "Excuse me if I look like a slob but I slept on the set. I just want to make sure this film gets done right." This is a man who eats, sleeps and breathes movies, and that's what makes him so great. He is all consumed by his work.
Wow this was amazingly entertaining & educational to watch. So great to see a candid Spielberg in his element too.
Speilberg is a rule breaker based on his behavior. His approach is original.
Yes, taking cues from earlier eras, classic movements...great cinema.
He's a member of the Tribe. They have no rules.
I wonder if like 5 minutes later someone on the tram was like "holy shit that was Steven Spielberg"
Aidan McLeod iiii
Steven just seems to be such a great guy! Not only an awesome director and a huge part of Hollywood history, but somebody who's genuinely fun to hang out with.
This was great! @8:20, I bet all the tourists did a double take at the passing golf cart. "Is that...? Naaaaaaah. It couldn't be." lol
He's pretty recognisable.
Eddie Romero I was thinking the same thing. How can they not?
I also wonder if the people at 2:20 saw him
I noticed most were looking his way.
Time to sneak onto a Spielberg set.
TIME TO DO IT!
Timeless timeline time travel would be there by universal studios hollywood movies on money made into store story about how much money does it take for the best part of the rest remember the same place looks like new
I want to meet Steven Spielberg so bad it's on my bucket list
Householder Films He’s on my bucket list as well, along with Stan Lee
Householder Films same
@@wildethang93 Did you meet stan lee before he died
Same 😊
I want to be a Filmmaker like Stephan Spielberg when I grow up
Joshua Owolabi - Quadri Start now. Steven started as a young boy.
Joshua Owolabi - Quadri me too
Hey, start right now. You live in an age where it is all easily accessible. When I was young it was film and very expensive and hard to do. The way you can start today is a dream. I wish you the best.
Steven has one of the most relaxed personas and mellifluous voices when it comes to interviews. I could listen to him for hours on end on his filmography.
I'm going ahead and calling it, Steven Spielberg will go down as the Greatest Film Director of All Time !!
This is my dream. To pick this mans brain about cinema. Talk John ford, Hitchcock, David lean, Kurosawa, Kubrick and all my favorites that I share with Spielberg. I'd love to talk cinematography and just everything with the man. My hero of cinema.
Tyler Jacobson great job out there
Steven Spielberg is a gem!
So fucking cool. One of the best interviews I have seen with Steven! So direct and personal! You have been gifted by Mr Spielberg my friend! Give thanks. Peace ✌🏻👽Christo
It's like taking a mini road trip with Steven Spielberg ....... Amazing Stories 😁.
Spielberg is The Best!
==> Christopher Nolan is the best now. He whrites his own movies, the scripts come from himself, not Spielberg, so Nolan is the best now !
Kamino1138 Tarantino also writes the script, but he isn't better than great directors like Spilberg or Scorsese
Spielberg*
It dépends on a lot of things. About what you say, yes, you're right, but I prefere filmakers like Nolan, Cameron ( F**k avatar !) or Woody Allen...
Simply the whole inventor of the modern movies Speilberg is the best❤️
I will do it Steve, I don't know how but i will work on one of your sets, and it can be as low as shoveling cow poop, i will do it with a smile on my face! You're my favorite director!
~ Half starved film student
The tourists would love to see the Orca
Who knew those sets were so big, could drive on for miles, wow
Wow Mr Spielberg is a legend and please have them built a new Orca!
I can listen to Spielberg talk about films all day. It's been one of the greatest joys of my life to have been able to grow up watching his films. I remember seeing Jurassic Park at least 3 times in 1993. I couldn't have been any older than 6 or 7 when it was released. Simply amazing..
This was amazing Spielberg is such and inspiration.
Hitchcock kicked Spielberg off the set. If only he knew he was dealing with the future most famous director in the world and the only one whose name is better known than his own as being a film director.
"For Your Amusement" sent me here. The tourists would love to see the Orca here.
Terrific video. I just wish it would have been much longer. Spielberg is the man!!! I re-watched "Duel" yesterday and it was brilliant of course.
Film directors are underrated artists. Singers, actors, musicians, writers are so much more popular. Film directors should also be equally revered. If you look closely, directors combine all arts from writing, designing, acting, music, visual effects and join all of them to realize their vision and make films. Spielberg has made some of the most popular, culturally relevant and timeless films. I hope he is remembered for a long long time after his death. A legendary artist.
Screen writers are not more popular than film directors. They are in fact quite low on the food chain, unfortunately. Often they are not even allowed on the set. A writer dreams up the entire story and characters and a director often claims it as his "vision." That's not to say good directors (such as Spielberg) don't deserve accolades however. I agree he is a master of his craft.
Felchenstein I was talking about novelists like Jk Rowling, Stephen King, George RR Martin etc. I agree screenwriters too deserve credit.
Abdullah Bhinder directors are revered more so then writers for sure
Steven Spielberg Is my favorite film director producer and whiter from 1960s 1970s 1980s 1990s 2000s 2010s and 2020s
That War of the Worlds set got made me so emotional. That is one of my favorite films of all time; it motivated me to create my first film. Thanks Spielberg!!
Currently applying to animation jobs. I have my back against the wall and if I give up on my dream I go back to working minimum wage jobs for the rest of my life. This stuff really motivates me to not give up
It would be so scary to visit all these sets in the night
Hi Alux, my name is Nithin from india and I wanna have a word or talk to MR. Steven Spielberg,
Its important.....
Can you help me in that??
I came here from For Your Amusement: A Theme Park Podcast, hi Ryan Bergara
Omg this is like being i a recording studio alone with MJ snd and hes teliing you how he wrote /composed his songs.Magical
The narrator has terrible vocal fry .her script was great but the story would have been even better if she knew how to breath correctly
So the Motel and the Psycho House are actually the originals essentially from the Hitchcock film?
This video is so cool. This is a stupid question but how can they keep all those sets? Don't they run out of land?
Some sets are used for other productions (like the Back to the Future plaza that was already used before the movie) and most sets are simply destroyed, only few remain after shooting.
3:52 Is a really touching and relatable story. We've all been there.
Google what Isaac Kappy said about this guy.
Steven Spielberg seems like a nice man, but he ruined a neighborhood by making a movie in a house in a small town. It is plagued by a barrage of tourists constantly, and the residents have no privacy at all. That is why film makers should use studios to make movies instead. That decision has negatively impacted the residents for decades. I am sure he has no idea the problems he left in his wake.
Which one?

Bro this, is really great I am impressed with how at ease Steven is with you and even though we are on the universal tour / back lot kinda that lends itself to the timeline he is describing! Damm! You are welcome to come to Monterey California and bring Steven! I will show you both REAL ufos (not Bullshit)Peace Christo ✌🏻👽
and they need to bring back the shark original
bruce #4 the one that hang upside down where people took pictures with it
8 years on, this remains an excellent, insightful interview! Spielberg really is a legend. Does anyone know if they reinstated the Orca boat for the Jaws part of the studio tour?
Where is the 'lost world set' (jurrasic park)
I've done this tour like 15 times but never seen it?
Happy 70th Birthday Steven Spielberg
People who say “Wow! Spielberg was only 27 and he managed to show up Hollywood should see this 3:50 and then decide.
So at 3:04 you see the one, that really started and nearly ended his whole career of becoming an entertainment billionaire in the end: The jaws puppet. And it justs rests or rosts there, forgotten on a backlot. And he does not aven take a nod?! Thats just rude man. So rude! ua-cam.com/video/nxgNtdFIeGc/v-deo.html
I don't wish injury upon anyone.... except to the person that demolished The Orca
The Greatest Film Director Of All Time. Legend.
Is this part 2? They keep talking about last time they spoke :(
Can I contact him?
@1:19 Is that a Halo map? I somehow have memories of being pinned down under enemy fire on that grassy knoll?
I'm starting to think that Steven has been kidnapped by Universal.
8:19 wait how did these people not go crazy seeing Steven driving by in a golf cart?
all the background people were staring lmao
That was brilliant
Imagine being on one of the tour trams and you just see Steven Spielberg drive past.
the director supports all artists great and small
Not a fan of the cinematography or sound editing, but what a great story...
Was that the lodge from The Great Outdoors? A bit past the 7 min mark.
Why do they keep the sets so long after shooting the films? Don't they need to make room for new sets?
Been there, wish i had done that (with Steven Speilberg)
I like him even more after watching The Fablemans.
8:19 I wonder if any of them realized who just passed next to them
he was the first director I ever hurd of. His films were the first films I ever really enjoyed and wanted to see more of them. Duel was the first film of his I saw. Then jaws. Then empire of the sun, which I related to so closely as I was a similare age to the boy in it. Spielberg always remindes me of my childhood, when I was still free and my heart was still warm with dreams, love and hope.
hearing of his life and and journy even now fills me with real happness. when I hear him say how he felt more at home on the film lot then at home, that he knew he had found his calling in life and where he belonged. To know that such wounderful thing like that can happen to somone on this earth fills me with that warmth, happness and hope that i once knew again.
Its one of the only things that dose right now. I miss the boy I once was. I miss the joy and energy I once had for life. Its hard to beleave it will ever come back. Somehow I fell down in life, made to many mastakes. I was too weak to make good in this life. In the end I can only hold myself to blame.
But Steven made it throw. He seems a kind person. who wanted to be crative and bring joy to others and to live a posititve life with meaning and sucess. It fills me with joy that he was blessed to have what it tok inside himself to make good. well done Mr Spielberg, thanks for bringing such hope and happness to me and so many others.
I feels it too mr green, its like found again "the feeling" that had gone.
I snuck onto the Universal lot once. Best 3 backstage tour ever.
That story with the Orca at the Jaws ride only makes the ride being torn down even sadder. I wish I went to Universal Studios before it was shut down I've never been there before and two see a ride of one of my favorite movies not there really tears apart my heart
He is one of my biggest inspirations . My biggest scare from entering hollywood is acctually the fact that i'm not american .....Should it bother me ?
Not if you make good film
SwaggyT But if that movie is an independent small movie , How will it be recognized ?
Every single film director started from the bottom and further reached to the top. You don't need a big budget to make a great film. I wanna be a film director as well, that's my dream and Mr. Spielberg along with Nolan, Tarantino, Coppola and Kubrick are my biggest inspirations. The key is to somehow be original.
I feel you bro. I want to do something like that as well.
Afonso Lucas Thx , i'm 14 now (almost turning 15) and I'm working almost 7 months now on a shortfilm and it needs to be original , good and unique and get into the film world will be the toughest things in my life but I'll go on & on & on till I make it . Movies are the only pasion I have and I couldn't live without be involved in their world.
If you are going to universal studios go to the actual original universal studios at universal City where they are here. Because it was always originally a studio before they got the idea of a theme Park. Every set every structure you will see is the actual genuine article of a movie. And as you see always pay close attention to electric carts. the trailers of actors and sets sometimes are not very close so they have to shuttle them frequently back and forth. So although you may not see Steven Spielberg you could see somebody else.
This video was 10 mins? holy shit, it flew by. I need more.
Anybody else notice the shark at 3:05? ;)
yeah
Good spot . Looks likeep the wishing well from bttf at the end as well
