That hit me on a very relatable level because not even two days ago I tried to use Spectral Thief on a Chansey and let me tell you I felt like a dumbass afterward. But me and the guy with the Chansey had a good laugh about it, so 10/10 would use a Ghost move on a Normal type again.
I've done that a few times, I always laugh and panic, like "Wait, no, shit, that's a Normal/Ghost- type move!!"
I went up against someone in BDSP and god I felt like an idiot 🤣🤣 i accidentally HydroPumped something, and when the "move is not effective.." popped up I just faced palmed so hard.
As soon as he dynamax im like oh no you messed up 😂😂
It's cool. One time I used Max Wyrmrid on a Mega Diancie thinking it was pure rock type

Had a spore as his opener to keep from the
Sweep and Breloom was putting some work in. Pretty much cut off the set up after Reflect which was a pretty big deal.
I think he just didn’t play the rest of the team for special attack so it resulted in a set up that let him sweep regardless, but seriously, this guy was not bad. Not bad at all.

I just find it funny how the anti sweep strategy helped make the sweep possible
brick break instead of mach punch on breloom would have ended the sweep much earlier, spore is a good counter to it it just needs something better than mach punch
@@IGDFC oh 100%. Maybe even both in case brick break isn't doing enough and you need priority but yeah it just lacked power

@@IGDFC brick break is a pretty bad move, especially on breloom, where mach punch is one of its best moves. However there was no reason for Breloom to stay in on that. Switching into Pex after using Spore would completely kill any chances of success.
@@nicolaistuhlmuller8718 bick break is a very usefull move, since it breaks both reflect and light screen (and aurora veil) im not going to discuss if its better or worse than technician mach punch or defog, it's better in this situation and would have been enough to kill the sweep with breloom itself or with arceus/marshadow switching does risk 1 sleep turn only

Incineroar probably outsped due to flame charge.
@@DYMLikeABaws if after he waited 2 turns and spored again as he would be outsped and survived with sash to spore again getting at least 1 more turn of mach punch

if he put marshadow b4 arceus he would have won
The funny thing is he could have literally won if he'd just gone Toxapex -> Marshadow -> Arceus
Instead of letting Incineroar heal up on Arceus first, so he wasn't wrong about having a working strategy for it, he just didn't know what it was.
he thought that using Arceus xtremspeed he can do more damage but never think in drain punch like you say he should use marshadow or toxapex before arceus
Or use spectral thief while incineroar was asleep
Or predict a fire type move attacking his Breloom then switch out for Heatran if it has flash fire to absorb the incoming fire attack and follow up with an Earth Power.
Came here to say the same thing. After seeing the first drain punch, switch into Marshadow for the immunity, and shadow sneak. Next up is Arceus with the Extreme speed and it's GG
He could’ve used dynamax Snorlax Max Strike before using Marshadow to drop the speed, and then go into Marshadow and use Close Combat or Spectral Thief.
Man, he was so close to properly playing it. He just messed up by staying in with breloom after he put incin to sleep.
That and sending arceus 2nd.

Focus Sash Marshadow is a powerhouse steals boosts from Xerneas, Smeargle(gimmick), Moody gimmicks and etc

@@K40005 it doesn't need to be Smeargle since most Smeargles Baton Pass to sweepers but if its Smeargle it will have a tough match up
That is one good thing to note:
While the game shows the health values as percents, attacks that drain the enemy health (like drain punch) heal as much damage as the actual HP value of damage done
For example,
Pokémon A has 1000 HP (100%)
Pokémon B has 200 HP (50%)
Pokémon B users drain punch and does 200 damage to Pokémon A
Now, Pokémon A has 800 HP (80%)
While Pokémon B has 400 HP (100%)
I still dont know why they cant just show the number of HP and thats it
@@Ultra289 To preserve as authentic an experience as possible. You can't see the number of HP your opponent has left in the actual games, so you can't see it on Showdown.

depends on what type of sweeper you face. many sweepers counter each other.

Been running this set on my mono fire sun team that i've been running in Gen 8 OU and been having a blast with it, even did a weakness policy version on Volcarona on the same team which just surprise sweeps all over the place whenever I play it lmfao got quite a few replays

As soon as I saw the weakness policy I said “oh no this man is dead.”
It's refreshing to see an opponent who took defeat well. Gregeg was surprised but recognized he needed to modify his strat.
And yeah, Dynamax gives Pokemon a huge hp increase, something that's hard to tell on Pokemon Showdown when the hp bar shows percentage.
