@@TriniT21, @Shannon I've watched that scene in the years and I've always felt like you. Ridge showed no compassion even after the kidnapping reveal that's his fault , no doubt. Omar may have been altruistic initially with Taylor when he saved her life but it didn’t take long for him to prey on her vulnerability. Taylor’s indebtedness to him was a perfect setting to then control and manipulate her for his own selfish reasons. He is the ultimate black knight fighting to win her at any cost. The profound effects of stress and trauma cannot be dismissed just because Taylor is a psychiatrist. She’s a human first.
Got to love how everyone just accepts Sheila's "invitation"! If you got a phone call from a deranged homicidal fugitive who wanted to meet you with no police present, could you see yourself replying, "Sounds like fun! I'll be there"?
Yeah even though Sheila's Goodbye Party is a compelling/iconic set piece, the plotting leading up to it is SO bad. Why would everyone go along with her invitations? How did she get into the mansion? Why would the cops drop by to question Mike instead of showing up with a warrant to arrest him and search the premises?!
@@NewYorkNick0607 true - there are so many "wait, but why?" moments in the setup to that goodbye party. I still think they could have written the characters into that climactic scene in a more organic and believable way. Sheila and Mike could have hidden somewhere other than _his home._ Sheila could have invited everyone to the party _in someone else's name_ rather than her own (a message "from Burke" saying he has important information about Sheila and wants to meet everyone involved at the Forrester mansion to discuss it and make sure they are safe).
“Do we know that for sure? How dangerous is Sheila” asks Eric to the man Sheila held hostage AND hearing the whole story from Lauren. I wonder if the writers intentionally wanted to paint Eric as an idiot.
I think its intentionally. Eric was never portrait as intelligent, smart, clever or even strong. Bill bell created him intentionally as being dumb, stupid, dense, insensitive, hypocrital, selfish, narcisstic and weak. It can be seen from the first episode on, that Eric was for sure not the mastermind behind the success and head/leader of FC and the Forresters. That was, is and will always be Stephanie.
You don’t bring an actress like SF aboard unless she is given a major role. Eric may be the titular head of the fashion house but Stephanie is the true matriarch. The heart and soul of the family and the show. The B and B GOAT. 🏆🥇🎖️
@@z-5reader939 excatly. JM wasn't a very known actor. He had a couple guest appearances, but had no major roles in the daytime world. The bigger "star"/"actor" was for sure SF - she was pretty known and had major roles in the entertainment world.
If I were Taylor I'd stop begging my husband to reunite. She might have made a mistake but Ridge married another woman after a very short time and he has no right to be angry like that.
The happy and tragic life of Ridge Forrester. He is the lucky guy that gets to choose what woman he wants (at the moment). But he also bears the big responsibility that if he turns his back on a woman, her life will fall apart that she either might marry his brother, or his dad or maybe even the cruel man that has kept her captive and manipulated her. Without Ridge, there is not really a life to live.
It's so funny to watch Brad Bell try and fail to balance the love triangle the way his father did. *Esi* made this point that Bill Bell wouldn't have made it _so obvious_ who Ridge was going to choose. Brad is piling all the blame on Taylor while Brooke will literally martyr herself for the family in the next few episodes. Brad's idea of balance is to play Marry Merry Go Round - let Ridge be with Brooke one year and Taylor another year. He doesn't know how to balance _within_ a storyline.
Unbalanced BIG TIME. The viewers aren’t stupid. We see the B bias. Whenever the writer’s throw Taylor a bone, it gets quickly snatched up by the female dog. Ruff! 😤
Yes thank you for highlighting this. I was so caught up with the awful writing in Sheila's storyline but the Taylor storyline is also being badly written!
Everyone getting ready to go to Sheila's send-off party, even the police more concerned by her... then Thorne😂😂😂 is it so obvious everyone is relieved he is lost??😂😂😂
Thats too funny. I think brooke/kkl has started a long time ago to do some pole thats belongs to bell jr. Jr loves kkl sliding down his pole. Thats why we see this stupid writing.
Sheila very good to know ALL phones numbers lolll Brooke , James offices , At Stephanie’s, Lauren 😅😅 but yes back then we did know many , but she’s know it all impressive
When looking at Mike's dusty apartment, it occurred to me that one vital thing that is missing from this show is a working class family that balances out the rich families. The Logans filled this role in the show's early years, and the class warfare between them, the Logans and the Spencers made for some compelling viewing. Now that they're wealthy, it's just a show about selfish, rich characters doing scandalous things. That can be fun to watch, but after 37 years, it does become overkill. People underestimate the value which storylines that focus on class issues can add to a soap. For all its craziness, that's the one thing "Passions" got right. Class related storylines were a significant part of that show's DNA.
I see what you mean. Those early shows with the struggling Logan family added depth and interest. There were more topics to explore. That’s when B and B was at its best.
Ridge never even got mad at Brooke when she _married and had a child with his father_ and yet Taylor does something much less consequential under traumatic circumstances and he's struggling to forgive her. 🙄🤬 We see you Brad!
Maybe Sharon because he was happy back then, he was with Caroline. Now Ridge is livid because Taylor let him be with Brooke. I can understand his disappointment.
Even if Ridge was upset with Taylor, he could have at least given her a hug and told her he would need time to process it. Just goes to show how emotionally immature the guy is. Ugh, what do these desperate women see in him? 🙄
I think this time RM was good. @NewYorkNick explained Ridge's role perfecly yesterday, as the prize, the object the women fight for. Today I just watched Tridge scene, isolating then from the triangle pov. I can see Ridge pain becasue the woman he loved the most back then gave up on him. It is not the marriage per se, but it is Taylor giving up on them that shocked him the most. He says it himself after Taylor told him about the double mirror and how happy he was with Brooke:" and so you gave up?"
Yes Babs. Also at 6:20 when Taylor says, "I wanted what was best for you" and Ridge concludes, "And you thought Brooke was best for me." This is the main problem for Taylor trying to reclaim Ridge because if she thought Brooke was best for him, then why _shouldn't_ he stay with Brooke?
I think for me, the issue is that Ridge is making it about _him_ He is not having a discussion with the aim of understanding and so he is missing the point and very uncaring about what Taylor may have gone through. Taylor could justifiably also be angry that he married so soon after her death, and with the woman who had disrespected her all through their marriage. It should occur to Ridge, when she said that she thought Brooke was what was best for him, what a difficult decision that was to make, and maybe what contributed to her making that decision. It really is an over reaction by Ridge, to me honestly. Brooke married his father and he basically shrugged. He only got mad about it (and not even with Brooke, but with his father) when Caroline died and he started to look at Brooke as consolation prize again.
@@TriniT21 I know that Taylor's should have been harsh and not begging for him and his forgiveness. And , ça va sans dire, I would have loved her with Connor😄. I only tried to isolate them from the silly topic the writers have chosen for Tridge fight. . I just gave Ridge the benefit of the doubt starting from his words about giving up.😊
I agree with your assessment. When Ridge says, “and you thought Brooke was best for me?” he’s affirming the long standing threat of Brooke in their marriage. In a way, he is admitting that he married the woman Taylor would be most hurt by. He disrespected his marriage/love for Taylor.
*Taylor pleads her case badly* Taylor was doing so well there for a while, outlining how Omar lied to her, kept her prisoner, and forced her to watch the newlyweds behind the one way mirror. And then she talks about the marriage itself and that's where she clearly loses Ridge's sympathy. I think her big mistake is how she frames the marriage as something she "had" to do, like she is not responsible for ending up married to Omar, when it was clearly a _choice._ So her story about the marriage doesn't quite ring true, and that gives Ridge an opening to question it. I think she would have done a lot better if she had acknowledged that yes, she _chose_ to marry Omar because she was _hurt_ that Ridge had moved on with his life and married Brooke. That would have made the whole thing relatable to Ridge since he is experiencing that exact same pain now. Talking about the "sacrifice" she made is quite an unconvincing argument because it begs the question why she has changed her mind about it now, if she originally thought that Ridge would be happier with Brooke and the children. A more consistent, and believable, and sympathetic, argument would be for Taylor to acknowledge that the deepest motivation for her actions was not selfless sacrifice but pain that Ridge had moved on so quickly. She should have confronted him about _that_ rather than apologizing for something that doesn't make any sense anyway.
YES, well argued! Taylor needs to be flipping the dynamic on Ridge and putting him on the defensive. She's basically conceding that Ridge is the wronged party when she should be pointing out that he wronged her too by re-marrying so quickly.
Yes, but she said she forced her to go on marrying another man, trying to forget him. That should have been relatable too. I mean, of course Ridge had feelings for Brooke when he married her, but also he had to rush into a marriage because Brooke was about to marry someone else. And for him it was easier because he thought his beloved wife was dead. Taylor had to struggle with her feelings for Ridge and struggle to keep an insane sacrifice. And I think that the marriage with Omar is overvalued and the writer's choice to put Taylor on the bad side of the triangle. It would have been easier and more relatable among the viewers to have Stephanie and Ridge furious because of Taylor's night with James at the cabin.
Yes, Taylor should have continued to send I messages to Ridge…I was upset when I saw how fast you moved on with Brooke. I felt guilty about taking away your happiness and turn your life into chaos? I saw your happiness with Brooke…etc. Therefore, I did give up and Omar had saved my life…so I married him in name only to start a new life. I realize now I was wrong…I’ll understand if you can’t accept what I did…I don’t understand it myself? At that point, Ridge could have reached out and taken Taylor into his arms. Because she is telling how she was feeling when she did what she did? Ridge should be able to relate through the heartbreak that he felt in loosing Taylor thinking she was dead? 😢😮 But the writers didn’t want to tell that story…they want to keep the conflict going…so naturally Ridge can’t be understanding and makes it about himself? 🫤 Ultimately, this is the writers Choice…but they will make up for it later when Ridge goes back with Taylor. 😄
I could not understand how Lt Burke is negotiating with him instead of arresting him. There is a literal eye witness to Mike's role in this crime. 😕 BTW. Is Mike planning on going back to work like normal?
Not Mike telling Sheila his house is the first place they'd look 😂 His house is prob the 999th place they went looking.... Meanwhile... Why is Lt Burke not there to arrest Mike?
@@annieo6527Thorne's halfway to Mexico by now and Lt Burke isn't even aware😂 Meanwhile... How is it that Lt Burke could arrest Thorne based on finding his letter opener on the scene, but does NOT arrest Mike (or even have a search warrant) and there is someone who can identify him as being an active participant on the scene 😕. I mean, he could even arrest him for simple assault for knocking out James...
The setup leading to Sheila's goodbye party is SO badly written. They could've at least had Sheila and Mike on the run/hiding out in a different location from the cops.
I think it's the _opposite_ actually. I think the implication here is, if Taylor believed Brooke was best for Ridge so strongly (so much that she'd stay "deceased" and marry Omar) then why _shouldn't_ Ridge stay with Brooke? This is the conundrum for Taylor. For her sacrifice to remain valid, Ridge can't choose her.
@@VivWardRegBevWilVery true, once he decides to separate, the constant goin to her beach house, the elevator scene, the paternity reveal bringing dem closer all point, only point to one thing. Watever he said to Taylor during Thomas conception is true😍
The one thing that gets me is Taylor always want to act like a victim she could have escaped it but she chose you don't know what torture is Brooke went torture being without the man and being victimized😮 I really hate when Taylor use that word
Well, you don't have to be a Taylor or Tridge fan to feel compassionate about them. ( unless one's heartless!) Very emotional scenes and I feel sorry for Taylor. I know she made some mistakes, but at least she admitted it. Ridge being angry, shows that he still cares for her. I know, his big ego's hurt now. As a Taylor and Tridge supporter, it was hard to watch and I'm a bit torn about it. I love them as a couple, but on the other hand I think that Ridge never really deserved Taylor. Brooke was always forgiven everything by all the Forrester men. Shows who the writers favourite was! Brooke and KKL! Everything else has been said on here, and I mostly agree with all of it concerning Tridge.😏
Agree.. as a Taylor and tridge supporter I think ridge was always harsh and unfair to Taylor. He stumbled 100 times and lusted after brooke whilst Taylor was always true to ridge. Even after so many years.. it’s very sad how the tridge love story has been thrashed to prop bridge. Tridge will always be THE couple for me.
After that ridiculous outburst at the end I'd be done with Ridge and when Pierce Peterson appears in four-five years I'd run into his pretty arms in a heartbeat and never look back at the *dressmaker* (thanks Bill Spencer/Nick Marone for that cute nickname)
I feel like I am watching a different show than everyone in the comments. I actually liked this fight between Taylor and Ridge? Ridge was a jerk but there was more angst, intensity and emotion in this scene then there has been in any scene between Bridge since they became a couple (which I have constantly complained about)? I actually felt Ronn Moss was good here! You could see the tears in his eyes and he plays anger pretty well. The part where he yelled at Taylor so loud she jumped back was kind of jarring to me but I liked these scenes. I wasn't expecting him to be so hurt and angry that she married someone else? It makes him a hypocrite but I also don't see how this writing says Bridge is the root for couple. I know he stays with Brooke but it plays like the idea of Taylor with or wanting someone else really angered/hurt him. Again he is a selfish hypocrite because he remarried but I will say remarrying when you think someone is dead and never coming back is different. Look at his reaction when Taylor tells him they never consumated the marriage. This reminded me a lot of the fight they had when Taylor got back from Scotland after treating James. Maybe I like the scenes because there are rarely any good couple fights on this show and I feel like the best couples have some of the best fights. Nikki and Victor on Y&R became a supercouple partly because of how good and intense their fight scenes always were. There is a thing about Bridge that I really don't like is neither challenges or pushes the other. He accepts whatever she does and barely acts like he gives a damn and vice versa. It always comes off as mild annoyance or "oh thats Brooke" and she accepts whatever cause she just wants him and doesn't think she can hold on to him. It's very dry. Now what I wish here is that Taylor had given it back to him and thrown him marrying Brooke back in his face (I also could do without the wall slide crying at the end). As hurt as Ridge is by her marrying Omar, Taylor is just as hurt about him marrying Brooke and also should have gotten a chance to express that here.
Ridge married Brooke because he didn't want to lose her to James, as far as he knew Taylor was not coming back...he's supposed to give up a family for her cause she's miraculously alive what a ridiculous storyline this is oh and by the way I married this Prince because you married Brooke! This makes no sense to me!
Completely agree. Ridge is more hurt that Taylor is married than anything Brooke ever did. That's love ❤ I too wish the scene ended better. Taylor should have also mentioned about being the volunteer and how she saved him.
The audacity of Tayor or Brooke marring anyone other then Ridge!! They both are suppose to sit around and wait on him to decide which one he wants. Ridge and the other Forester men are all jerks..this soap make women and men look so stupid.
Taylor it's great you finally told Ridge how cruel Omar is but you don't have to explain anymore lol Ridge is jealous that you married a Prince another man because Ridge thinks he is the only man for you hhh
🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 While Taylor is guilty of Bigamy she deserves compassion and forgiveness. She really married Omar to find a new sense of purpose in order to allow Ridge to have the family with children that he wanted and deserved. However, Ridge finds it incredulous that Taylor thought he deserved happiness with Brooke who was just a cheap bargain on sale. Angel Trinidad West Indies. 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Well, pardon the interruption but I think you are wrong about Ridge. Brooke became indispensable to Ridge and he was relentless in convincing her to marry him. Felt he couldn’t function without her. Brooke is very much the Prize to him at that time.🤗❤

It happens again in 2006. Taylor begs and pleads for Ridge to forgive her. He walks out and Taylor just collapses to the floor sobbing. He’s done it to Brooke a few times as well. Lol
Why in the world would Sheila invite Brooke to her little ‘get together’? Brooke was actually the ONLY person besides Mike who liked Sheila and was her friend. She has NO beef with Brooke.
Why is Taylor begging Ridge for forgiveness when she should be taking him to task for getting remarried 3 minutes after her death? This Bell Jred version of the character lacks a backbone and common sense.

Hey Ridge, you think this is something, wait until you find out what happened with Taylor up in Big Bear after the earthquake. Miss Taylor always has excuses ready for you.
Of course there were great excuses. Taylor's character is not driven by lust and greedy needs. She has to have a big reason to do something wrong. And she wrote a letter to confess.
Taylor forgot the second evening in the palace, when Ridge told about Taylor and their marriage and she heard that too. And now she tell us she thought Ridge didn't care? Another thing what she hided from him. Fact is she can not really explain why she married Omar. Another point is that she gave up on him and reacted to late. Ridge is right, she did the same thing like Omar, she hided the marriage from him. Omar is the manipulator and she is the saint.😅
Yeah, I wondered about that too and that this totally ignores episode 1913, when Ridge talked about how much he has loved Taylor and that god suddenly took her away and how Ridge hopes to see Taylor again someday somewhere. Taylor could have believed that Ridge had moved on, but no, he hadn't "forgotten" Taylor at all.
She married Omar not because of love but obligation...she owed him her life. Also Omar succeeded in drumming into her that Ridge was happy n his children needed him...and the orphans made her feel needed. But a marriage without love will not survive nor last...that s the underlining fact here. Her true love was Ridge...which is most unfortunate because he could forget her in a heartbeat n move on with Brooke.
Bridget seemed to be the deciding factor (everyone said “the children,” and Eric Jr HAS been abandoned by his father, but the fact remains he has a father of his own)

@@NewYorkNick0607 true - there are so many "wait, but why?" moments in the setup to that goodbye party. I still think they could have written the characters into that climactic scene in a more organic and believable way.

That’s when B and B was at its best.
but that`s how they have more time to drama

Directed by Susan Flannery
I think for me, the issue is that Ridge is making it about _him_
He is not having a discussion with the aim of understanding and so he is missing the point and very uncaring about what Taylor may have gone through.
@@babs4848my issue with Connor is that he was brought in to suck up to Brooke from day one. He's Brooke's glorified doormat
*Taylor pleads her case badly*
Taylor was doing so well there for a while, outlining how Omar lied to her, kept her prisoner, and forced her to watch the newlyweds behind the one way mirror.
Hear hear!
But the writers didn’t want to tell that story…they want to keep the conflict going…so naturally Ridge can’t be understanding and makes it about himself? 🫤
Ultimately, this is the writers Choice…but they will make up for it later when Ridge goes back with Taylor. 😄
True, I dont see it as a sacrifice either but pain as you say and a bit of getting back at him in a way, moving on and marrying someone else too😏

She keep to much secrets and take to much time for actions !!! 😅😅
Taylor is conveniently leaving out the part where she stalked Ridge while disguised at the seminar at Forrester Creations and for weeks at the hospital. She is just like Sheila, but less murdery.😂
Murdery?
Ridge do not buy this stupid story that Taylor😮 ridge is going to stay married to Brooke ❤❤
There Taylor goes crying and apologizing when he was married 4 months after she "died" lol begging him to be with her
I belive next or So Shelia will sleep With Michael Just to get his gun..??

Taylor dovrebbe rivelare a Ridge anche della liason con James...la verginella😹
I ognj caso Bridge forever❤
Now that she’s telling Ridge the truth why doesn’t Taylor mention that she slept with James!
Yes she knows RIDGE would not stay with her
Dang Eric is 0-2 since Stephanie
❤❤❤😎🍿👍
Hey Ridge, you think this is something, wait until you find out what happened with Taylor up in Big Bear after the earthquake. Miss Taylor always has excuses ready for you.
Of course there were great excuses. Taylor's character is not driven by lust and greedy needs. She has to have a big reason to do something wrong. And she wrote a letter to confess.
Ridge ain't sh*t.
Bridget seemed to be the deciding factor (everyone said “the children,” and Eric Jr HAS been abandoned by his father, but the fact remains he has a father of his own)
@@2474rajuglad, you and me are watching the same show😊👍
Omar is manipulative man but to place blame all on him not fair I don't think 🤔
