Sebastian Stan trained really hard to be able to do those knife tricks. Those were actually him.
That’s really awesome when the actors take that extra step to make it even more real and amazing. Thank you for sharing!
bucky's story is just tragic, no other words to describe it. it gets worse when you learn more about his captivity in the civil war movie.
Bucky has one of the best character arcs in the MCU. And given the hell he's been through, he deserves any bit of happiness he can get.
Bucky reveal through the cracked windshield with the winter soldier theme coming in always gives me chills
Definitely one of the best “Aha!” moments of the film
What I love about Sam is that he doesn't treat Steve like a superhero, he treats him like a fellow soldier. I'm a veteran myself, and the way they talk to each other when they first meet feels completely authentic.
The first time they show SHIELD headquarters on screen they give a longitude and latitude of the location. That location is on one end of Roosevelt Island, an island in the Potomac River on the edge of Washington DC. In our universe the island is a national park.
Their dynamic is definitely friendship goals. Thanks for that tip I have been wanting to go to DC for a while.
Yeah, great point, because soldiers that have been through IT are badasses themselves, and know what it's like to kick ass. You guys must just look at each other differently.
Wow I love that longtitude / latitude detail..... that's such a great detail to get right in the movie :)
The MCU totally kicked the Cap. America power level up to a respectable level. Steve consistently performs feats of strength and character. They hit the nail on the head with the actor, lines, etc.
👏👏👏
They really did. This movie is CINEMA
This version is based on the Ultimates Comics Cap with the main universe personality.. Combined the best of both worlds.
A lot of the early MCU stuff is based on the Ultimate universe.
Your love and appreciation for Black Widow is soo appreciated! People always underestimate her. Cap America my favorite character shines. Chris Evan was made for the role. TOP 3 Marvel movies easily. Can't wait to see you watch Cap America Civil War!
Thank you very very much. How could someone underestimate this woman she is incredible. Cap is also fantastic I love them so much!
Oh Peggy...she just tears at my heart! Sam is my favorite "addition" hero. I wish he'd been Navy, he'd be a solid shipmate. This is 100% my favorite MCU movie... and I say it every time; Cap's landing after disabling and jumping off the jet is THE superhero landing of all superhero landings!
100% agree with everything you just said
"Now the moral of the story is if you die in the MCU, you don't die...Apparently. Except for agent Coulson." Yeah, no. That includes Coulson. And that's where the show Agents of Shield comes into play. 🤷♀️🤣
Wow, so not even Coulson! That makes it hard for me to believe them anymore lol
@CatDadsReactVTTV No spoilers, but... Treasure this time of death bait and switch. It doesn't last forever.
@@CatDadsReactVTTVCoulson dies. The first half of S1 of agents of SHIELD has the arc about how he is back.
Then the episode which links up with this movie happens and all hell breaks loose.
Victor’s reaction to Bucky’s reveal is by FAR my favorite reaction to the scene ever. It cracked me up. I also punched my friend on the shoulder at that moment in the cinema.
Tony constantly being moved to tears is the most relatable to my entire MCU journey.
Very very glad I ran into your channel. You guys are on for a PHENOMENAL ride. Can’t wait to watch you go through the rest of the journey. 🥲
Thank you so much for the feedback and support! This movie (so far) really got our emotions out! What we love about this journey we’re in is that we can totally just be ourselves and react accordingly. Glad to have your support! 😺😺😺
39:08 them being friends since they was 17&18 in real life always puts a smile on my face 😊
It really is a great story - hoping to see how it all comes together in future movies.
What made this movie on a different tier than the rest.... is that you can remove all the comic book out of it... all the superpowers and that stuff... and what remains is still an excellent spy thriller.
Marvel works best when the focus of their movies is not the superpowers. Some of the more recent movies have forgotten that, but it's generally accurate.
I live in Atlanta and the cast and the crew literally had a blast filming parts of this here it was worth the traffic disruption when you see the final product
The comics do tend to have their characters either hookup or in a relationship with each other depending on the comic book run. I actually like that the MCU shows that the characters have strong feelings for each other but it doesn't have to be romantic and can be a bit more familial in nature.
I love that too. I guess everyone hooking up with each other is close to real life but it is refreshing to see a change for a while.
My aunt had Alzheimers so that scene with Peggy hit me hard in theaters. Also, Sebastian Stan's dad was going through Alzheimers when he was filming this movie and used that as inspiration for Winter Soldier's blank stares during the "brain wiping" scene.
Oh wow - did not know that. Such a sad moment, but we felt they did a great job portraying such a difficult moment for many of us out there.
I too have purchased national security secrets for 75 cents, in a vending machine 😂
😂😂😂
Agree with you guys about this movie. This is one of the best super hero movies ever made.
Tony, you made a very astute observation most people miss about Natasha thinking several steps ahead. You pointed out that she knew where Buckets of Wheat was going to shoot and making moves to get herself, then Cap and Sam out of the way of Bucky's fire.
The doctor treating Natasha's wound is one of the directors, Joe Russo.
This movie is a classic political thriller in the vein of the early 70's. Robert Redford was perfectly cast.
Up next is one of my personal favorites.
Jasper sitwell ( the bald guy) was the guy working with agent coulson in the first Thor movie when Loki sent the destroyer to destroy the small town in New Mexico. He asked him was that one of stark's suits
For me its the best (LIVE ACTION) superhero movie ever.
So far, 100000% agreed!
Its so interesting when the man asked natasha is ready for the world to see who she really is because she i and was an lethal assassin. That's ehat she was trained for until she turned to the good side
Jenny Agutter, the woman on the council that Black Widow was disguised as, is a classic. Great that she got a scene where she's kicking some ass.
I was like who is this badass lady haha so good
My #1 favorite MCU movie. Its an amazing action espionage movie! Love Bucky!
So glad you loved this movie, and I'm glad you're here. It's such a huge turning point in the MCU, and from here on out, things really start taking off and get so much cooler.
My favorite Marvel movie. It's so good🤩
'He doesn't have friends anymore, he's alone.' That's why he is at his own exhibit at the Smithsonian...it's the only place he can visit his dead friends, even if it is just in pictures and memories. Also if you enjoyed the tone and vibe of this film you should watch the film the Russo Bros had in mind while filming this one: the 1975 Paranoia-Thriller Three Days of the Condor. Condor starred a major Hollywood star, Robert Redford.
As a huge comic book nerd AND fellow Cat Dad (Current cat: baby Onyx) I’m so glad I stumbled upon your channel! You guys are positively delightful, especially when faced with the fact that you all are watching the MCU for the first time. Im not really a big reaction fan but for some reason I love seeing people delve into one of my favorite franchises ever: the MCU! Cheers gentlemen!
Thank you (and baby Onyx) for the support!! We are glad to be ourselves and enjoy this amazing journey. So excited for what’s to come. 😺
I think out of all the Avengers, Black Widow has the best fight choreography.
Agree, she is awesome.
her best choreo i feel like it's in Civil War
@@juliocesarg.r.1238 iron man 2 was pretty impressive
This movie would have been good even as a stand-alone aside from the MCU.
Fun fact: the Bible verse on Fury's headstone was a throwback to a character Samuel L. Jackson played in Pulp Fiction.
If you want to know what happens to Shield and Fury after the events of this movie, you should watch "Agents of Shield". Season 1 lines up with "Iron Man 3" (episodes 1-7). "Thor: The Dark World" (episodes 8-16) and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" (episodes 17-22). "Agents of Shield" really is worth the watch - still rated 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, even 3 1/2 years after the show ended. It ran 7 seasons, though the final two seasons were only 13 episodes each.
I love Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I know this will be controversial but in my opinion this is the #1 movie in the MCU! Also, Chris Evans portrayal of Captain America is by far my all time favorite!
Is definitely my first one so far.
I get what you’re saying but there’s nothing to compare it to. He’s the first.
What a great reaction guys....keep up the good work!!! We are excited for the next one!!!
Thank you so much 😁
@@CatDadsReactVTTV coulson lives!
Black widow in the comic book was a super soldier but the MCU version Black widow is just a normal human at physical peak human condition. The mask Natasha uses in the council is called The widow's veil. The Windows view wristband stingers and spider bite disc is all part of her own technology she brought in to shield from her former employer where she was an assassin. Because you was an assassin she knew where the Winter soldier was going to shoot doing the car scene on the bridge. The MCU falcon is way better than the comic book counterpart because he was just a sidekick in the case of the MCU falcon he is his partner. Sam Wilson and Steve are equals both with traits in which makes the other one better. Bucky super soldier serum was developed from the serum used on Red Skull who's super soldiers formula was diluted. Becky is strong being able to lift at least six tons but compared to Steve who is able to lift nine tons at this time he will seem weaker. Now of course that's not including the winter soldiers metal arm which is at least double Steve maximum strength. Which is about 18 tons.
So you haven’t seen black widow yet…
@react2379 i thought the Same 😅
I mean she's a genetically enhanced human according to the movie
Actually, I’m not 100% sure of that. She is revealed to have been chosen for “genetic compatibility,” which wouldn’t make sense unless there was something to be compatible with. The Soviets actually got further with their super soldier research than anyone, and it’s possible all the widows get something to increase strength and durability-particularly durability-past human norms. Not near to super soldier levels, but still notable.
So is Bucky actually stronger than Steve, cause 18 + 6 is a lot higher then 9. And if Bucky really can lift 18 tons, he can basically lift a light loaded semi truck🚚
They never 100% repeat the character's appearances (beards, hairstyles, costumes) from movie to movie, more toys to sell that way. Thanks for the video, great reactions.
Good point
Most people put this one near to the top of the MCU movies' lists. Now you have seen why.
100000% What a movie! Great characters. Great story. Not a dull moment. Out fav so far.
One of my best MCU movies ever and your reaction was awesome!!! Keep it up! waiting for more videos!!!
Thank you! Will do!
I love that you both really get into the movie and allow it to pull at your emotions! Some films in the MCU are just devastating. Go play that meme that says Emotional Damage.
It took me a while to figure out which MCU movie was my favorite because there are a few top tier, but I find myself watching this one every time it comes on. So good!
Totally agree!
He hit him when they saw it was Bucky. 😆
😂😂😂 I (Victor) was expecting Keanu Reeves under that mask (jk) but they slapped me with Bucky!! Didn’t see that coming at all.
"Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?"
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Sandhya Chandel.
What Script Fact: Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson wrote their own dialogue for several scenes they had together.
Art Imitates Life Fact: Nick Fury relates a story of his grandfather being an elevator operator. In real life, Samuel L. Jackson's grandfather was an elevator operator.
Stan Lee Camero Fact: Stan "The Man" Lee is a security guard at the Smithsonian Institution, who notices the original Captain America (Chris Evans) costume is missing and says: "I am so fired."
Deep Cut Reference Fact: There is a brief mention of a Canadian agency called "Department H" by Natasha Romanov a.k.a. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), which was the organization that experimented on Wolverine and gave him his Adamantium-bonded skeleton in the Marvel comics. In addition, it is the organization that created the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight.
Cameos Cameos Fact: Joss Whedon is the man wearing a Captain America (Chris Evans) t-shirt, and going down the escalator with a little boy at the Smithsonian Institution. The scientist at the birth of the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) is played by Ed Brubaker, the author of the Winter Soldier storyline in the comics. Gary Sinise is the voice narrating the history of the Howling Commandos in the museum. Garry Shandling reprised his role as Senator Stern from Iron Man 2 (2010). Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the film's writers, appear as the two S.H.I.E.L.D. interrogators. American comedian D.C. Pierson is the big bearded man in the Apple Store at the mall (Pierson will become important for Avengers: Endgame (2019), so file this away).
Sorry the reference was not Saw but War Games from the 80's - shall we play a game
Ohhhhhh! Got it - thank you for the clarification.
Absolutely loved your reaction! You are both so engaged and get right into the story. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
No, THANK YOU!!! For being here with us.
One major thing that made this movie so good was it is done in the style of the old-school spy movies. Robert Redford has a couple of those under belt already. Great reaction guys!
Thank you very much!!!
You two make my days brighter. Thank you for your reactions ❤
Thank you so much for coming along with us on the crazy journey! 😺
Damn never knew GSP could pull his punches after all those years of Ultimate Fighting 😂
You guys got yourselves one more subscriber. Amazing reaction, I can’t wait for y’all to meet more avengers along the way especially Ms Wanda Maximoff
Thank you thank you very much, this means a lot, we will try to bring you good stuff always!!!
Really the best movie in the first 2 phases
Agreeeeeeed!!
welcome to greatness..the gems of the mcu started with this film..it will be great from here on out..
next is Guardians of the Galaxy then Avengers: Age of Ultron and lastly for Phase 2, Ant-Man..
one of the directors, Joe Russo made a cameo in this film..he's the doctor treating Nick in hiding..
my Top 7 of mcu films to date..
Such a great movie. Just curiosity what’s your top ten order?
You guys really need to watch Marvel's Agents of Shield, it's a TV show based on the marvel movies. You won't be disappointed it ran for 7 seasons I think and was as good as any of the marvel movies which is insane for a TV show. We are more used to it now with shows such as stranger things but TV shows weren't as good as this when shield first started
That’s the difference between widows and super/winter soldiers in the mcu the widows are way more resourceful and smart in combat while the super/winter soldier’s are brute force and speed in combat
Cool, little side fact: the French man Cap fought on the pirate ship, with the cool moves who could hold his own against him for a while? That's actually Cap's stunt double. ;) So all the cool fighting sequences of Cap you see? That's him. Love, how they showed tribute to the awesome people behind the scenes! He also contributed tremendously to the fighting sequences!
no thats former Canadian mixed martial arts champion George Saint Pierre. Evans' stunt double looks very different from GSP.
@@sersastark Really??! I thought, I remembered that from the directors commentary... 😞
@@Danisachan I think both Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan had fight scenes with their own stunt doubles in other MCU movies, but not in this one. There's also a flashback WS fight scene in Cap 3 where you actually see everyone's stunt doubles, which was a cool way to give them due credit.
@@laxxla Psshht!! They haven't seen that one yet! 🤫
@@Danisachan That's why I didn't give any details lol!
You guys really should pause it more when you're breaking it down so you don't miss anything during the dialog. Most people don't mind. I really enjoy your reactions I hate it when you talk over important dialogue.
Noted we will try that going forward.
Hey guys, definitely NOT a criticism!@@CatDadsReactVTTV

I'm here every time you upload, I didn't want you to get the wrong impression. Some reactors get pissy. You've probably already seen it since UA-cam is behind your Patreon but Guardians is so awesome!@@CatDadsReactVTTV
@@fullmoonprepping4024 we appreciate you sticking around. Please feel free to give us all criticism and feedback you want. WE LOVE IT!!! That’s how we can do better.
Your comment about "Shouldn't he be healed by now" is correct. Steve Rogers can heal Gunshots and knife wounds in HOURS and MINUTES respectively.
He's not in Wolverine level of Healing factor but He can heal Really quickly.
They didn't show it as much in the movies and they did a great job showing his Strength and Combat Abilities but He's still stronger than they showed here. This was told to me by A friend who is into the comics.
That doctor who helps Natasha is one of the director. 😆
The great fighter on the ship in the first , actually is a professional ufc fighter.. I can’t remember his name at the top of my head but it’s a hard but simple name.. lol
Canadian UFC fighter Georges St-Pierre. That's why Sam's comment about Steve taking up UFC is hilarious to me
The cap trilogy 🫡 man they don’t make them like this anymore
Agreed, and what great movies TFA and TWS were. Can’t wait for the next one!
Awesome reaction guys! ❤❤
Thank you so much! 😺
Your reaction was superb! Great commentary and insight. Well done!
Thank you so much for the support! We’re learning a lot about this reaction stuff, so appreciate the feedback and enjoy watching these alongside you all. 😺
This is the first of your videos I've seen. You're adorable, and I loved your reaction. Subscribed.

Greatest movie in the mcu up to this point. Are u guys gonna go back and watch the older marvel stuff Blade Spiderman Xmen Fantastic 4 and Ghost rider are all fantastic characters
Absolutely we will.
This reaction was amazing to see 😊
Thank you!! 😺
33:13...
It's totally a thing. Scarlet Witch has been linked to Vision, Black Widow has been linked to Hawkeye, Iron Man, Black Knight, and Hulk.
Black Widow is also linked to the Winter Soldier in the comics.
Wow I haven't seen this movie since it came out, and I didn't remember how f amazing it was!!
Love and appreciate the applaudable attention to details from you guys. This is my one of my top five Marvel movies.
Thank you so much for the feedback and support! This movie is definitely one of our top movies as well! 😺
Them: So the moral of the story is that no one dies.. well except for agent coulson.
Me: you're not gonna believe this
One of the very best!!!
awesome Winter Soldier is still my fav MCU movie
Dementia is a cruel disease both for the individual but mostly for the family. My nan has vascular dementia and is currently bed bound in a care home

This is PEAK MCU 🤘🏽
I'm glad y'all like Black Widow she's criminally underrated
This is widely regarded by many as a top tier 10/10 Marvel movie, contending with movies of greater scale and scope.
I can see why. It’s amazing!
Hands down this is the best film in the MCU. Other films have things that make them feel better at times, but on a rewatch, those things aren't as impressive or as entertaining. This movie though, the action, the writing, the jokes, everything still holds up on rewatch. Even if someone disagrees about best overall, I don't think they could deny that it's the best "single main hero" film. So none of the Avengers films (or Civil War if we're being fair).
Imagine if at 40:45 Sam didn’t catch Sitwell 😂 That would have been kinda awkward.
My favorite MCU character is Loki. My favorite Avenger is a toss up between Captain America and Hawkeye. I adore Hawkeye, but Cap is a soldier after my heart, being a former combat medic.
Great reaction! but also i feel one of you was being quite unfair with bucky :/ saying things like "Bucky come on" and "Omg bucky" when it clearly isn't buckys fault as he is being controlled and tortured to act in that way and it is not bucky in those moments it is 'the winter soldier' as previously shown 😕 i know the situations are quite annoying 😂 however its still unfair to blame him
The guy Captain America was fighting in the beginning was a UFC Fighter George St Pierre
It's hilarious how in an earlier vid one of you tell the story of watching End Game and wondering why people were crying...and you guys are crying/tearing up at very MCU movie. Can't wait until get you both get to End Game after experiencing all the MCU movies in-between.
If you like the action scenes so much, I recommended you to watch The Raid franchise, thats where Action scenes in this movie inspired by.
One of the best reactions ever made, "I WROTE THIS MOVIE" bahaha
LOLOLOL!! 😺😺😺

2. Thor
3. Spider-Man
4. Wolverine
5. The Punisher
6. Captain America

2. Blue Beetle
3. The Flash
4. Shazam

6. John Constantine
7. Swamp Thing
8. Harley Quinn

33:14....She-Hulk, Daredevil, Ironman, just to name a few superheroes who like to "get it on" and have hooked up with multiple other superheroes in the comics...
Watching this alongside the first season of Agents of SHIELD, was quite an experience. It's a shame AoS never fully joined MCU.
One of the inspirations of this movie was "3 Days of the Condor", which stared Robert Redford.
The best marvel movie. Shame they cannot make more like this.
The guy that Cap fights in the beginning is Georges St-Pierre who is a former UFC Champion, and all around great martial artist.
Top tier movie for sure!
This is certainly my favorite of the MCU. Spy thriller is my favorite movie genre, and this is the only spy thriller in the MCU.
I hope you guys save infinity war/endgame for the end because you will be greatly rewarded for watching all the films leading up to them. Especially endgame. Can't wait!!
