Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas, pros/cons etc. I’m very thankful and blessed by all the mamas who make and share such helpful videos. Also would like to add that you have a pleasant voice, video what edited nicely, and didn’t drag on for an hour. God bless and have a wonderful school year!
Thanks for sharing your review! I bought ECC used a year ago and had planned to use it this past year, but it took us a year and a half to finish Adventures. I've been going back and forth on whether to use it now or do more of a complete Charlotte Mason curriculum. I think we are going to go with ECC and I'm going to modify it some. Oh, I buy my MFW curriculum in the Facebook BST group. It's a great way to get a good deal!
Same here. It took us almost 2 years to get through Adventures. We went with ACE this year because of burnout, but I still have ECC sitting on my shelves in case I feel like trying it. I'm watching all the reviews right now and trying to see what my kids think.
What a fun thing to do as a coop! I will have grades 1,4,5&7 next year. I got the ECC TM for $15 from another HS mom a couple years ago, and have gradually collected supplies and books for the curriculum inexpensively. It's sitting on our shelves waiting till I have the energy and motivation. We did an independent curriculum this past year while I try to regain my health and energy (I also have 2 preschoolers). Good to know that you were able to adapt for younger kids! I was wondering if it would be too intense for my 6yo.
Annie Bananee good question! (I feel you on the having 2 preschoolers! Way to go, mama 💪🏼) My middle son was five when I did this one and he did well! I didn’t have him do any of the written work or worksheets. He mainly just watched or listened to the books and activities. Sometimes I had him draw pictures after we read. He loved learning the country songs and playing the Geography Game :) I think he memorized the countries better than my oldest 😉 So, just adapt as you go, and you’ll know if something is too much for him, and just have him skip it! (Or print off a coloring page off the internet that’s on the same topic/country). I hope that helps!
So GREAT!! New Subscribee here!! Loving your channel.. Again not a lot of info here on YT w/ the curricula either. Always a breath of fresh air & amazing encouragement.. when you can tell that the parents truly love teaching their children.. TY! So much for being here! (=
Shays Js337 Aww!! Thank you so much!! That is very encouraging to hear. ☺️ You made my day. That is exactly why I am here on UA-cam. Thanks for watching!
So sorry I just saw your comment! It actually worked out that I had several homeschooling friends in my neighborhood. We all decided to use the same curriculum and do co-op together! I wouldn't have gone with MFW if they hadn't convinced me to join them :)
I didn’t actually. After the year I did Exploring Countries, I did my own unit studies for science, history and Bible, and eventually came to A Peaceful Press and A Gentle Feast, and now I switch back and forth between those. I have some great videos on those on my channel! But I have heard VERY GOOD things about MFW and all their years. You can’t go wrong with them. It is just too costly for me and I found other affordable curriculum. ☺️
This looks awesome, thank you! Maybe I missed it, but does this curriculum dive very deeply into history also or is it mostly just geography? Also, what about handwriting, language arts, and math? Do those need to be done separately?
You can definitely do MFW in 4 days! I didn't use MFW in kindergarten, but I think it could work really well! As far as learning to read, I used TGTB Kinder primer and it worked very well for my youngest :) That's a tough decision!
I haven't used the Gentle and Classical Press mission studies, so I'm not sure! Wish I could help more. I have heard good things about Gentle and Classical Press country studies. They seem really great! I would have used them if they were around when my kids were littler. :)
I appreciate your feedback. There are so many awesome resources out there lol It's my second year homeschooling and now I have 4 boys total that will be schooling this upcoming year. My goal is to find something fun and thorough while trying to group them together for as many topics as possible. Love your Channel ❤️
Lauren Clemmer it is actually part of the ECC curriculum and I’m not sure if you can purchase it separately. It came with our student sheets with the curriculum 👍🏻
The sheets don’t have the entire book list. They just match up with each country you do. And Some of the science experiment sheets go with the Property of Ecosystems book. 👍🏻

I'm so glad this was helpful! I love helping other homeschool families. :) Thanks for watching!! Hope you have a great school year, too!
You're delightful to listen to, thanks for the review!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
I'm really glad to hear that you did it with younger kids. I'm looking at doing this next year for my will be 6 and 8 year olds.
I plan on doing this starting in the fall & so excited. Using it more for the geography lessons.
That’s awesome!! It’s a great year of geography focus! 😁😁
Thanks for the information and review. My wife and I are exploring homeschooling as an option and someone recommended this curriculum.
Glad it was helpful! My Father's World is a great option for new homeschooling families. It really holds your hand and guides you well.
This was an extremely useful video for me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experience, and ideas.
I'm so happy to help!
Sounds like a great year ... I’ve heard wonders about this program... TFS!
Awesome video. I did the same, bought used at our local consignment store. We are enjoying it so far.
Love the boardgames on the shelf:-) Nice choices!
I didn't know they had this, looks great!

Definitely want to try this!! Looks amazing

Thank you so much for this video!
You're so welcome!
I, too, have been deterred by the price. Glad to know it can be done a cheaper way. 😃
Yes! Glad I could help!
Great review! I really like your game shelf 😊
Malia Lehnertz thanks!

Thank you!!! It was very helpful. How did you discover a co-op that did MFW? It would be awesome to have one here in a Texas 😄
So sorry I just saw your comment! It actually worked out that I had several homeschooling friends in my neighborhood. We all decided to use the same curriculum and do co-op together! I wouldn't have gone with MFW if they hadn't convinced me to join them :)
Are you planning on doing the next My Father's World?
I didn’t actually. After the year I did Exploring Countries, I did my own unit studies for science, history and Bible, and eventually came to A Peaceful Press and A Gentle Feast, and now I switch back and forth between those. I have some great videos on those on my channel!

Good review

You mentioned linking the around the world with kids or something like that you used to pick books maybe but I don’t see it linked
What did you use for their science books?
New homeschool kindergarten here.....deciding on MFW and the good and the beautiful? Thoughts? Also could I do MFW in 4 days instead of 5
You can definitely do MFW in 4 days! I didn't use MFW in kindergarten, but I think it could work really well! As far as learning to read, I used TGTB Kinder primer and it worked very well for my youngest :) That's a tough decision!
What do you think of this compared to gentle classical press on a mission socialstudies?
I haven't used the Gentle and Classical Press mission studies, so I'm not sure! Wish I could help more. I have heard good things about Gentle and Classical Press country studies. They seem really great! I would have used them if they were around when my kids were littler. :)

How did you find this worked without the other geography books listed in the kit?
What is the link to the geography game? I’m doing MFW K and am interested in using it.
Lauren Clemmer it is actually part of the ECC curriculum and I’m not sure if you can purchase it separately. It came with our student sheets with the curriculum 👍🏻
Can you do use the sheets without the teacher manual? Do the sheet have the name of the book it goes with? 🤔
The sheets don’t have the entire book list. They just match up with each country you do. And Some of the science experiment sheets go with the Property of Ecosystems book. 👍🏻
Was the geography game in with the student sheets or the parent/teacher supplement?
Lisa Davis hi! The Geography game came with the Student Sheets :)
