Very nice, guys. Short and sweet and to the point -- and honest. Refreshing on social media, where so many people have a stake in whatever they're "reviewing." I'm sorry the trip was kind of a bust, but I appreciate you sharing your opinion with everyone. Cheers from Virginia!

This is natural habitat and not a zoo. Be sure to get information when and how to maximize experience so you wont be disappointed.

Awesome video guys! I really did like it but, just to clarify you CANNOT sedate Komodo dragons or any other reptile due to the fact that they are cold blooded (which doesn't mean their blood is actually cold; it means their body temperature depends on the temperature of their surroundings) this causes their organs to change the transfer of energy from really fast to really slow. With that being said reptiles have to stay immobile to keep as much energy to themselves as possible and only use most of their energy when food is on the table.
To keep a Komodo that calm all you have to do is #1 feed him.... Komodos can spend MONTHS without eating and this is true for all reptiles as well. If those people feed the Komodo more often than that the Komodo will have no need to spend as much energy therefore becoming more "lazy" because the food comes to him not him to the food.
Another thing you said is "Komodo are supposed to be fast" that is true ONLY to when food is involved and they must get to it other than that like I said earlier they must contain that energy.
With that being said the Komodo is not sedated BUT desensitized from people and food. Great video again

This is really interesting and helpful as there isn't much information usually about them or their treatment for tourism. Thank you for all the information, glad you liked the video🙂

As you mentioned, 1 day is not enough, as the distances are quite far between places if you have a slow boat. We did a 2 nights 3 days and hired a fisherman's boat. We paid 7 million RPS all in , with accomodation in the lodge of the fisherman, on the main Komodo island. It was very simple, the food was local food, but the family was very welcoming, and the fisherman took us to less crowded places . There are actually several pink beaches and the one he took us was empty. These islands are incredibly beautiful, and deserve more than a day tour.

That sounds like a great experience, yes we definitely think a longer trip is needed to do it justice, it's a shame it wasnt in our budget

@@MarkWebster1 my wife knew a fisherman, and he was available when we were in LB. not a luxurious trip at all, but it was just the two of us on the boat, and the fisherman.

The komodo dragon you saw probably wasn't sedated. They rarely chase people so that's why you can see them that close, or maybe they do when the victim is alone, I met one further in and it was also this chill.
Oh yeah, think things through about the planning. Discuss with the tour people on the timing as well. You two might've payed into the tour when they know full well that the timing was horrible.

I spent a month in Indonesia in March 2019 and my one big regret was not spending the money to go to Komodo Island on a 3 day tour from Bali. But after seeing your video now I'm happy I didn't go. Regret is gone. Thank you!

It is caused by lack of plans. Evetything must be planned accordingly to maximize your trip. It is not a zoo or theme park, it is a natural habitat.

We were therein 2018 as we took a cruise trip from Singapore to Sidney, Australia. On our way, Komodo dragon Island was one of our stops. It was an incredible experience. Those dragons were amazing to watch; we saw a bunch of them. Snorkling at the Pink Beach afterward was also a highlight.

I’ve been there and I think it’s an amazing experience. Based on what Komodo Ranger told me, komodo is a pretty lazy animal in general, that’s why the moved slow. They’ll move fast if they have prey to feast and the best way to save yourself from them is to go to the ocean because they’re just too lazy to swim lol.

Hi there! Love the video. In terms of booking your day trip, do you mind sharing what agency you went with? Or if it's difficult to find somewhere to book? I'm planning a trip and I heard not to book in advance, just to book once in Labuan Bajo but I like to be prepared. Are there lots of day trip options around? Thanks!

    • @TravelsonToast
      @TravelsonToast  4 роки тому +1

Hello! Thank you for watching, we forgot to get the name of our agency because we booked with our homestay (silly mistake) but if you head onto the main road theres plenty of agencies where you can just walk in and ask about prices and tours. It is much cheaper if you book once you arrive! Not sure what's happening with komodo trips at the moment however, as the government were planning to stop tours to see komodos, so you might need to check that first.

I think the best place for snorkeling is in Bunaken ,North Sulawesi (Celebes) ..... especially around July ,that's when the fishes from the North meets those from the South ,creating some new fish species.........
Going to the North ,you can also see Sangihe region ,where there is a volcanic mountain under the sea ,causing heat to nearby waters........

I'm sorry but my Komodo trip was the best trip of my life. Totally different from yours. I can't even recognize. This video shows a totally different Komodo island. Maybe because I went with Le Pirate tours (4 days). I repeat: Komodo island with Le pirate INSANE. Before making this kind of reviews, please do some research online about everything. This is what you get when you don't research first. stay safe.

First video ive watched of yours but going to sub and watch more as i love how you guys appreciate animals and nature for what theyre supposed to be, instead of being used to make money etc
