New parents Jenn and JP are determined to give their son a great start. But they bought the wrong house in the wrong neighborhood and are now hoping to find to a family-friendly home in a vibrant community.
The couple agrees to Drew and Jonathan’s makeover plan, even if it means maxing out their savings. Revamping the home’s curb appeal is a cinch, but Jonathan’s kitchen makeover hits a serious snag. Meanwhile, the search for the perfect family home becomes more complicated as Jenn and JP continue adding to their growing list of must-haves.
That poor kid. The mother is completely out of her mind.
I am the oldest of five kids and spent many an hour babysitting and I can tell you that she is not being over protective. Kids that age can cover miles or put anything in their mouths if you only turn your back for 10 seconds. You have to be vigilant or they will get into every deadly thing within three feet or 10 miles. Trust me. I know.

I hope that Ben has not already been emotionally scarred for life by his lack of peer socialization. The lady was way over the top thinking that everyone would be trying to look into their yard and into the kid's bedroom CRAZY. I think their old house after the redo looked great it is hard to believe that all of that was done for 5000 dollars.
+Becky Shell Give this lady a break everyone, it's her first baby---I've seen first time mothers react the same way until they added more children to their family. It's not hard to believe that redo was done for $5000 since this was filmed in 2011.

in 99 percent of the episodes people complain and complain and complain about the mess, the kids, the construction, blhahahahahah don't they know how the construction repairs deal works????
It's wonderful to have such space in a home, yet the older I get, I think about the fact all of it has to be kept clean. A lot of work.

She is so over protective. Kids grow so fast.
She is in no position to criticise someone else's taste.

That lady needs to do some demo about once a week as a stress relief. It would do her a lot of good.
Someone should tell this woman, when people move house they take their belongings with them. Try to look at the shell. Also don't be mean about other peoples tastes.
Almost as if they might have chosen to do the the ironing when Ben was asleep or in a room he was not??!! How hard is that?
One has to wonder, has this mother never been in a store and seen the vast array of items people use to baby proof a home? Baby gates exist in ALL sizes!

Now I know what all the comments about the lady mean. She needs to chill! That kid is not going to leave home fast enough.
It is finally nice to see a couple with a realistic budget. I did not know this show did budgets this low. Good for them.
I see everyone saying the mums over protective, but they're older parents for a new born so maybe it took them a while to get him and they're just incredibly grateful
She is going to destroy him. Complete oposit of what her intent is. There should be no excuse for that.
Yeah, at first I just thought: crazy crazy crazy, but she seems to be a nice person and in the end that will reflect on how she brings up her child. She'll have her husband to guild her and hopefully influence, he seems to be more relaxed.
I was 38 when I had my only child. When he hits his teens, her overprotective nature and her tendency to get so emotional is going to make that kid nutty.
They need to have another baby to calm down and not be so overprotective. The Dad is a sweet man and very loving, Mom is going to be the MIL from hell, always interfering.

She is unbearable, for real.
I blast the minorities that are always crying “racism”; I’m always defending whites, and getting in trouble for it. But here I gotta say, as soon as she said “demographics”, and her son not having playmates my stomach went into knots. I tried to give her the benefit of doubt, that maybe she was talking about age demographics, but she just could have worded it better. I couldn’t watch any further. It’s simply a poor choice wording problem by the guest, and even more a poor choice of judgement by the producers of the show. I’ve always enjoyed watching the twins on this show, but now I don’t feel that good about it. The producers should’ve not allowed this to air. It should have been redone with her leaving all that unnecessary offensive information out -we didn’t need to know why they wanted to move.
