What is wrong with these people Complaining about focus and nails. Actually I think your nails look beautiful. They should be thankful that you are so generous as to video these tutorials for us. I for one am very grateful. There are several zentangles that I just couldn't get the hang of, but after watching your tutorials I can now do them. So thank you very much and please ignore these ungrateful, uncouth ingrates.
+Ellen Wolters Hai hello How is it going Are you okay I am a fan cried a lot. I am from Iraq and I learned from a lot of I did today I want to learn from some of the decorations or shapes, if possible Tamli me explain in writing how measurements and method of work for Acunnina do not understand the language when speaking either in writing translating it and GET and I want to know your Facebook account in order to talk to you ok
Your tutorials are the very best of any one out there. Watching you take a pattern and do it your way makes it so much easier. I had patterns that I was just pulling my hair at over but after watching you do it made it easy for me. Thank you, thank you. I just can't imagine any one out there complaining about what you do. Pleas ignore them.
I've just stumbled across this while looking at something else - thanks soooo much for sharing my design, Ellen, and for drawing it so beautifully! I am uber thrilled. (As for the comments about your nails and tripods etc. I never noticed either... too engrossed in enjoying what you were sharing!) It's lovely to see my pattern getting so much exposure. Thanks again! Shoshi
These are great! They look complex yet they're super easy to do when it's broken down. My little sister is loving this one and the spinning wheel one. Thank you :)
I will add this to my list of art therapy. A time consuming and relaxing piece. Thank you for posting this video. Even with the focus out I can still see the art. I don't see why people are throwing a conniption over it.
This was my first attempt at a tanglepattern and I'm so surprised at how well it turned out. The result looks so much harder to achieve than it actually was. Thank you for making it so easy to succeed.
Just come back to this again as it turned up in my feed. So happy to see over 56K views of this video of my tangle design. I have recently discovered Faber Castell matte graphite pencils which I am using in my art - they are completely non-reflective and would be great for shading Zentangles if you want to photograph them, as normal graphite pencil does have that annoying sheen to it.
Hi Ellen, I'm new to this whole tangle thing and I really love your video! Can't wait to try it tonight! Thanks for sharing. And you know what: Your nails rock! Keep them growing. :-)
Rominia Bielefeld :-D Well thank you !!! Have alot of fun tangling!!! Any requests for pattern... feel free to email me and I'll make you a video. I love so much to inspire people and help them out!
Really nice pattern, and I know such videos are a lot of work, but please, please get a tripod for your camera. It makes your work easier and much more fun for us to watch. Thanks a lot.
this is very much the way i do my smocking on my garments instead of using pen i use needle and string and it creates that same aspect but actual to the fabric.... awsome
I liked this tutorial and found it easy to do. Now I just need to fine tune the technique. Loved the work and really, ignore some of the comments that were made. I think you did a fine job. Plus I liked the upbeat positive music. I will be sure to watch more of your work. I am always looking for a good tangle idea!
One does not have to watch my vid's, one does not have to listen to the music. Just turn your computer off or choose another channel simple. I just want to share my talent and inspire others, that's all. Thanks for watching my vid's!
Ellen Wolters I think you accidentally replied to the wrong comment, this one actually liked your music! I liked the music too, could tell is who its by?
Ellen, how do you get yours to come out so even? Mine look so messy, I just don't like it and I've tried many times. I try not to use a ruler but some times it really helps. I just love that you do all these tutorials for us. Thank you, thank you....
Great tutorial, the shading works well, I was filling in the dark spaces with a black color pencil, but it doesn't have the same look, found I had a black fine tip and it looks better (deeper), thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing, I was looking for this pattern, not knowing the name, and now I can do it. Sometimes it just takes the breakdown of the elements to untangle the tangle! LOL
Love this one. I love the dimension ... could you do some with color? How would you add color...water color or colored pencil ...over your pencil shading?
Hi Tari, I wouldn't shade with pencil if I made one in color. I guess the shading would be with a darker color. I will make one in color if I can find the time ;-) greetz, ellen
Tari Huffaker Oh yes I sure use watercolors in my tangles (ever seen my contribution in the book The Beauty of Zentangle? I love KOI watercolors and Derwent Ink Tense pencils. You can also check my weblog: www.tekenpraktijkdeinnerlijkewereld.blogspot.com, I am sure you will find ZIA's (Zentangle Inspired Art) with watercolors :-)
I prefer using a bit rough drawingpaper, makes the pencil shading nice with blending... I love to use UniPin pens from Mitsubishi and I sometime use a HB pencil or a 1B, which is a bit softer. Happy tangling :-) and thanks for watching my video's. xxx
+mary ann younk , I'm a woodworker/turner and I've seen some of these diapre patterns carved in wood so they're in 3-D. I'm about to do one in bottom of a wooden bowl I'm turning. A scroll saw, hand-drill, carving knife and sand-paper should be all the tools needed. I'll make a YT video so as to demo how to do it.
@Henrick Noleto Thanks for watching my video's. I used Unipin Fine Line, water and fade proof, pigment ink from Mitsubishi. Most of the time I use a regular pencil HB or 1B (bit softer) for my shading. Happy tangling! greetz, Ellen
Great pattern. I'm very new and love to doodle. I don't have a steady hand though so my hand on patterns like this would not look as nice as your drawing.
Yes! :-) I have. It is COLOR ME! TANGLES and available on Amazon. Check it out here:www.amazon.com/Ellen-Wolters/e/B01D009ZPM?ref_=pe_1724030_132998060

The dotted grid line should help. Maybe lay down a squared paper underneath your drawing paper? Maybe that helps! lots of success!!! greetz, Ellen
Thanks . Wow my mind is Boggeling to try these out. Cheers.
Great tutorial, the shading works well, I was filling in the dark spaces with a black color pencil, but it doesn't have the same look, found I had a black fine tip and it looks better (deeper), thanks for sharing

what kind of paper do you prefer to draw on and what kind of pens and pencils...HB?

these patterns are amazing! What can you apply this to other than a sheet of paper?
+mary ann younk , I'm a woodworker/turner and I've seen some of these diapre patterns carved in wood so they're in 3-D. I'm about to do one in bottom of a wooden bowl I'm turning. @Henrick Noleto Thanks for watching my video's. I used Unipin Fine Line, water and fade proof, pigment ink from Mitsubishi. Most of the

Is it possible to do any videos without the annoying music?
what about turning your speaker off (grin)
Clickitty clack, clickitty clack with techno is not soothing when looking at videos of this genre. Often they're instructional videos which I'm often looking for. I'm sure others find it annoying. We are your viewership and your future success. Learn to take constructive criticism without sarcasm.
+badhairdaylady definitely annoying
shame the music is so crap and offputting because the video content is excellent
