I recommend using a Direct box (DI) if going straight into a PA (no amplifier). It will maintain the signal better. I'm including a couple of links below to Direct box options as well:
Price: $
Joyo American Sound

Joyo American Sound - Fender amp simulator. It's a great choice for those who want to achieve a Fender-like sound without the need for an actual Fender amp. Compact, well made, very affordable.

Very helpful demo, Roly! Thanks!
I'm looking forward to the A/B comparison between this pedal and a head of lettuce, which I'm sure you can make sound great! 😉
Be well!
Outstanding pedal, blown through one for a few years. great bang for the $ and built tough.
I just shared a link to your video with Tomlin’s school. I have one and love the simplicity when playing through a PA - just add reverb.
Sounds outstanding for the price. Got one on the way, thanks for the demo Roly.
The trick in these is to spend time learning it and not over doing the breakup.
Awesome thank you 👍🎶
Thank Roly I was going to get one of those rocking Ron pedal but this seems like a better deal. 😊
The key is in getting to know the settings
Well...
in Poland it is often said that small is beautiful... hehehe... sounds good for something you can put in your pocket. Blues technology moves forward! We are waiting for more great videos!!!!!
Thanks ya. It’s pretty impressive.
Just got one and love it. you really do need to run it through a DI box as you say. Much more controllable. I tried it through my trusty 520 dx shure mic and the hohner harp blaster SE with a low to high impedance transformer to the JOYO then DI to my fishman acoustic amp. I prefer the Shure mic Finally got that Rick Estrin sound
Isn’t the Harp blaster already hi-Z?
Thank you. Already have one😊 Thanks for your help. Very useful video.🙂👍👍👍👍👍 I did subscribe.
Been using this as my direct for all guitars on my backing tracks for years. Bought it for peanuts, it's a bargain sleeper!
Very good Harpsound. Incredeble.!!! Wich microphone and amp do you play? I want see it. 👍
Interesting and the price is terrific....Been using a Lone Wolf Harp Break with my trusty fishman loud box artist or Fender Blues Deluxe reissue...(not together) but this might be great when I plug into the usually bad stage amp/PA at local gigs...sure would save my poor old back and have a clean getaway at 2 in the morning LOL
Yup. Just use a DI with it.
@@RolyPlatt What is "DI" ?? I seldom use effects when playing harp but need to now but the terminology is all new to me.
@@docsharmonicablues DI means Direct Injection (not fuel injection lol) Takes a high impedance signal (from Pedal) and changes it to a Low impedance signal..in this case makes the signal more controllable without losing sgnal strength. I am using a passive ( not powered ART one google it for a better description
@@richardherring8073 Thanks for the tip/info, Richard. I use a 520 DX Green Bullet and an AER Compact 603 amp.
Hello Roly, I'm Alessandro from Italy.
I really like the tone that you get from this setup. I also have a Joyo american sound and i'm experimenting with it, the harmonica and several mics. I'm looking for advice because i'm going to use the Joyo AS into a PA through a DI box but i'm not able to decide which mic to use between the Samson R21S (Low Z) and the Superlux D112 ( High Z). In your opinion, which is best for the above mentioned setup? Thank you
Thanks. Unfortunately I haven't tried either mic but I would guess the Superlux D112 would do you better as a harp mic. After that, it's all in the settings you choose.
@@RolyPlatt Thank you very much. I' ll go with the Superlux.
Hi Roly I've just got a d.i. to the computer but can't get sound out of the speakers, can I ask how you have yours configured. Many thanks
So let me see if I have this correctly. I can go from the pedal directly into the PA with a standard instument cable 1/4 in. jack and bypass the need for an amp? I read somewhere that you need to go through a DI box? Thank you.
Yes it’s recommended to go through a DI box. The challenge is to get to know the pedal’s settings and levels. If you play around into an actual PA, and get the settings right, then it should work well anywhere. You need decent monitors, ideally your own but at least to get the sound and volume you need.
I added a couple more links to some DIs etc as well.
@@RolyPlatt Thank you very much.
The joyo American sound is a clone of the tech 21 blonde pedal. I have a joyo American sound pedal that I use for guitar for a while now and I just dusted it off to try with harp. I wonder how the other joyo Oxford, British, AC tone would work for harp?
Yes and a lot cheaper than the Tech 21.
Exactly right. I tried it against a friends Strymon Iridium and apart from extra features on the Strymon, there was nothing to pick from sound-quality wise.
@@ButternoteBackingTracks interesting. I haven’t yet tried and was thinking there would be a noticeable difference. Good to know.
@@RolyPlattthe Strymon is def more flexible and sounds great, but not at almost 10 times the price!
@@ButternoteBackingTracks ya. I hear apples and oranges. Gotta like the price on this
wow man , very usable ..$45 whoa
I was sure there will be guitar after talks))
je l a trouve tres bien ,je l accompagne d une pedale equalizer rien quand reglant les mediums c est super
