My 63yr old heart leaped with joy seeing that truck.
In ‘93, I bought a brand new ‘93 F150XL, Oxford White, standard cab, 8’ bed, 4X2, 4.9L I6, with Mazda M5OD 5spd manual transmission, Twin I-Beam suspension. She turned in 267,000 trouble free miles
    before I sold in ‘06 for and ‘06 F250XLT, crew cab, 8’ bed,, 4X2, V10, German built zF6 6 speed manual transmission.
I have owned and loved all makes and models cars, trucks and motorcycles. First car was a 62,000mile ‘72 Chrysler Newport Custom, then a ‘71 Plymouth Fury III 2 door, a rust bucket but fun!
You are a breath of fresh air in a sea of “will it run?” “This old car…” etc world. Greatly respect and enjoy your tech talk regarding tuning carbureted cars. I’m currently working on my ‘70 Buick Electra 225 Custom 4 door sedan.
Keep up the good work and great content re-educating some of us old folks on the whys, wherefores and machinations of some of the great old cars from our youth.

Super sketchy, popped off going down the interstate. Wheel bearings are barely present if at all.

I had a '97 F-250HD just like that except it had a ZF-5 S47 and significantly less rust. Sadly a guy crossed the double lines on a curve the Jan before last and folded my truck up like a crushed milk carton. I am still totally baffled how I lived through it and even extracted myself from it out the passenger side door. All I cared about was my dog. She died shortly after while I was being rushed to Vanderbilt hospital. I managed to save the 351w, ZF5 and 10.25" rear. A friend sold me a '94 RCLB 2wd F-250 he spent years building with a 393w, AFR heads, long tubes, Lightning lower intake, Explorer upper, 70mm TB, Cobra MAF, Lightning seats, rebuilt ZF-5 S42, factory Alcoa wheels, super nice, way too nice for me. He knew about my truck and thats how we became friends. He needed the money so he gave me first shot at the truck. He is the owner of the AHRA, Dallas Brown who does No Name Nationals. I love those trucks. Even with the 351w it had plenty of power with the manual. I towed and hauled a car and a bunch of stuff under a topper in the bed, grossed about 12,000lbs combined. It towed at 70mph with 3.55s in 4th gear from Dallas,TX to Tennessee getting 13-14mpg and pulled huge hills in AL on I65 going north without losing the ability to accelerate, never needing to downshift. Those were the last of the good Ford trucks. If I had to own anything newer it would be a 99-07 GM 3/4 or 1 ton with a 6.0 or 8.1.

Check your oil on those cars! Use the correct fluid for the trans, there should be a drain plug! Put in the right fluid! Water pumps are easy, don’t use an auto parts store one, get a good one from Rock Auto. There is an inline fuel filter in the fire wall by the pedals you can change, very simple! Fuel starvation can cause it to run lean and burn a valve, so I’ve heard. Congrats!!

Those trucks go dual pipes into the giant Catalyst then single into the muffler and out dual again. If you dont have inspection, you should cut the cat and muffler out, sell the cat, then you have a $200 truck and run the dual pipes to the dual pipes...maybe throw some old glass packs in there if you have any. I cut out the cat and ran true dual with a pair of glass packs on my 351w F250 and it sounded great, wasnt too loud at all definitely picked up a little power. I deleted the smog pump, it was an A/C delete truck, ran an electric fan on a switch(I almost never had to switch it on even towing), bypassed the coolant through the throttle body, put in a colder t stat, put 5.0 Mustang under drive pullies on it, ran a C&L Blue Thunder coil, 8mm wires, Motorcraft platnum plugs. This video is very relatable. Bought a 82 s10 that was at the salvage yard within days of becoming a cube. I bought it for scrap. Didn't run and had rust similar to urs. The bed was completely rotted out. Haven't put very much money in it and it runs and drives. Found a new bed and now is just waiting for paint in the spring time. Feels good to save a old truck from death. Found out some history on it turns out it was a high school/ fair ground rig. Probably hardly drove on the main roads it's whole life. 👍

Luke, you are just hardcore! I would've never tried to weld a brake drum back together. I am in awe! I still miss my Dad's '96 F150, but I console myself with my '94 Exploder, actually a 2-door Sport with the Mazda-built five speed, so pretty uncommon. Also meant I had to fab my own doglegs and boy did I misjudge how they flared out. But the rust is gone anyway. A pleasure as always. Best to you and yours.

You'll have to rig something up for the OD off button. Those E4OD like to run in OD with the torque converter unlocked towing. Would be better to lock out overdrive so it'll do 3rd with lockup. Less heat and maybe it won't be like every other E4OD and blow the pump seal

Truly wouldn’t be an obs ford without the hood flopping around. In the front corners on my hood I fed bolts through and put nuts on them to hold them to the inner layer of the hood and have the studs come down and contact above the grille to limit the movement.

When I was an HVAC apprentice I drove an old 94 just like this but with a heavy old steel reading bed on it. I needed a truck to drive and they pulled it out of the weeds practically. Drank gas like crazy but that 351 would pull really well.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. That truck looks like it should be headed to retirement, but with a little TLC it's back on the road and running well.
Are you ever going to get a tractor bigger than yourself? Those old AC tractors look like you could carry them in from the hay field if they broke down.

I had a 1986 Ford with the 3 in the tree Think it was the last year with the 3 speed on the column it had roughly the same miles and it was only used in my town for the hardware store for 24 years. It was very reliablet ruck but I had the same problem the rust eventually became to much after 6 years using it as a work truck for my roofing company. The engine still going strong in my uncles boat.

I got a $300 Chevy c1500 15 years ago, same situation. Owners of a shop died next to my work and the kids wanted to just junk everything that wasn’t shiny and luckily my boss was there to offer 300 and sold it to me same price. Still have it and still runs although being from Illinois it looks worse than this truck. Really cool you save that thing and kinda sad they were just going to scrap it for no reason then its a little rusty

Tennessee is a good place to live as long as you stay outside the city's. I've never needed help and not gotten it. My 89 F250 4wd threw a coil wire near dover tn. And before I could get the hood open 2 trucks stopped and blocked traffic. And offered tools and help. But I obviously didn't need tools for a coil wire. Fixed less than 5 minutes.
