My Black friend moved from Hungary to Sweden. She is American as I am. She said in Sweden the Blacks from Africa seem to not like her at all; She always gets nasty looks from them, her husband is Swedish so she wonders if they are jealous or what.
There's racist black people as well. I'm turkish and I experience more racism from turks than from germans in germany cuz its usually by these turks who try their hardest to be german and they freak out whenever they meet another turk. maybe your tour guide was like that too
So I think what it could be with trains with the same numbers and different names is standard. The number indicates the train and the names are indicating direction. So the first stop/ station where you can catch the train and the other name is the final destination. So each train goes in two directions and you have to know which direction you’re going to know which name the train should be displaying cause on its return trip it changes the name that’s displayed and the number is consistent. Hope that makes sense. That’s how it works in the south of Germany where I live and all over the country. But yeah, the people are cold and not very welcoming to black and brown people at all….
Dee Shanell girl I haven’t seen the video yet but I’m fixin’ to. But looking at the title… girl, nobody else matters. We love you here in the U.S.A ❤ You inspire me.
In regards to reheating pastry, it's a thing in the UK too. We have options in some stores to heat up a pastry product you purchase (if it was already cold) or even if I've been in a restaurant I've been able to re heat, and the staff have been ok with it.

Great vlog! You popped up in my feed somehow. I agree southern France is great and I really like Aix en Provence, Eze, and Nice, but I was in Paris for 10 days in early November and had a great time for the first time; it was my 4th trip to Paris and I disliked all my prior trips there. This time everyone was nice and we had lots of fun and great food experiences. Best wishes for safe travels and a great time!
the editing, the skin, just top tier. i’ve recently started traveling thanks to my new high paying job 🫡 so i definitely thank u for the traveling tips
I was in Munich back in 2001. It was hot as hell in August. We did trips around the city and some day trips to Salzburg, the Obersalzberg which I was told had views to die for but it was rainy the day we went (we visited the Kehlsteinhaus and had desserts at that tea house where Eva Braun and Hitler entertained their friends), two of King Ludwig's castles, Linderhof, Neuschwanstein, and Dachau.
Everyone’s experience can be different. I was just in Germany a few weeks a go for Ocktober fest. No issues and also, I went to Mannheim, Regensberg, Dachau, Stuttgurt, no problems, but I know it exist and just not Germany. I like Germany a lot.
A lot of people in the rest of the world are against heating things up in a microwave some Americans don’t mind popping things in the microwave like it’s nothing but many others outside the u.s find it unhealthy.
25:56 I'm not saying you are wrong, you could be right about this man and the reason for him using these walking sticks, but I live in Sweden and it's pretty common to see elderly using these sticks when they are out for normal walks on like plain ground/asphalt because it is good for their health to use their arms while walking and in many cases it will have been recommended by their doctor to start using them while going for walks :) 100% agree with what you said about the traveling and being elderly.
You got great weather! Where I am, I wake up to grey skies EVERY day! Used to live Munich. It used to have that special light like Geneva. Haven’t been for a while tho. Love your pics! ❤
Great video. Its always nice seeing more black people traveling the world. Hopefully we'll see you in Africa, if you haven't visited it already. Sucks about the discrimination in Germany. Could it be because you're American? Foreign outlook on the USA hasn't been the best over the past decade or so. I know a few Americans who travel around claiming they're Canadian out of embarrassment.
You're absolutely right, I definitely think it's because I'm American. In the next video I'm uploading, I have an encounter that I captured that's way worse and it made me realize that it wasn't my race that they didn't like, it's my nationality lol really sad that they judge us all the same
I am a dark skinned woman and I have had racist experiences in Germany. Maybe your experience was better because you are light skinned. And yea me too, other races such as arabs, Indians, and even other black people have treated me badly.
So sad to hear that there are self-hating black people that would treat you like crap! You think that they would know better but then again self-hate is something else...
It’s not self hating. That’s something white liberals push onto other groups to treat us as monoliths. No one ever accuses a white person of being self hating in similar situations. If an Irish dude doesn’t like the English no one says he should be cool because they have the same skin color.
Aww I’m so sorry to hear about your discrimination experience I hope you or anyone else that looks like us doesn’t go through these type of situations ever again
Visit Augsburg. I was born there outside of Munich. As a kid (this was in the late 80s), I remember a German couple touching my head. According to my teacher at that time, they had never seen hair like mine.
Hello Dee, You’re a talented and gutsy young woman to travel around the world alone. I’m a single Black woman who’s 68 years young and I’ve traveled to various places in the world, Europe and South America. I loved Brazil. Do you listen to yourself and watch how you speak about some things. I can appreciate some of your concerns, but some situations can stop before they start, if you tone down your temper. It’s not always that serious. I was 17 when I first traveled to Europe for the summer of 1973. I met all types of people. The problems that I witnessed were with other Americans, not with the locals. I watched other American women, Black and white, especially, cause scenes with locals because they acted privileged and self righteous. I have literally watched African American men and women start crap with white and Black people who weren’t even bothering them, sometimes due to cultural misunderstandings and language issues. You seem to have a quick temper sometimes and sometimes come off with an attitude when you’re talking about your insights. Nobody expects you to take crap from people, but try to pick your battles. You’re a young woman alone, so be careful when you’re far from home and alone.
All true, and you said it plainly without any meanness. Hopes she will consider your suggestions. Don't take anyone's crap but don't be quick to temper.
Is that Rothenburg?! 🙂 I got to spend 3 days in Rothenburg, inside the walls of the medieval portion. Take Nightman's Watch Tour. Drank amazing beer and relaxed from the business of the trip. It was my favorite stop, especially being in the town square with the cuckcoo clock tower
Enjoyed it. My nationality is actually German/Russian American, & I'm the only one in my family who has French. How that happened was, my great grandma was German, & my great grandpa was Russian, & my biological dad is French, but my real dad didn't want anything to do with me. So part of my life I grew up with my Mom. I did have a step dad who y Mom & I met in late 1993, but he died in October 2000.
30:00 ohh they're probably having a wedding! People usually make as much noise as possibly by honking their horn when they're on their way from the church/courthouse ceremony to the party. so everybody knows they're happy haha
Cologne is a lot more accessible, perfect size and layout, mix of ancient and modern, very lush at a fair price. Better place with a more interesting mix of activities for a video blog too imo.
I’m curious to know, are you taking video editing courses or are you learning on your own? These are great quality videos and the editing is so professional and elegant with the cinematography .
Aw thanks Chris, appreciate it! I’m self taught though, UA-cam has endless hours of tutorials on virtually everything lol so I’ve just spent time learning from UA-cam primarily
It's good to check out things like this, coming from the US you can't please the other nations too much or try to fit in, all you can do is travel and have nice vacations there especially talking to the blacks about this a lesson learner.
We r quite the opposite then, i need to have pastries cold, even if they’re room temp im putting them in the fridge. 32:09 he prob one of them that dont want to be associated with another black person when in a foreign country/ a predominantly white space…they try to reject you so they can maintain their fragile proximity to whatever they protecting.
München has a very long and storied history and I think if you had maybe read about it before you went there you would’ve understood what you were looking at a lot more. From your video you missed out on a lot of see worthy things there. Just sayin. That is a beautiful place and I absolutely love going there. I’m sure you didn’t go to Dachau, which is right outside of the city and a place you should’ve definitely went to. Not a happy space at all😢 but something that needs to be seen. The castle you went to see up on top of that mountain was Neu Schwanstein and it was the inspiration for Disney’s Cinderella castle. The tour there is way too expensive for the little of it you get to see though. The views from up there, however, are all of that. Did you go to the Marienbrücke, Marien bridge, back behind the castle between the 2 huge rocks? If not you missed out on the view and some great footage from up there. Did you notice how clear the water is up there as well? Rothenburg ob der Tauber is the named of the walled city you went to. That’s not close to München. I go there once a year every year and adore that place. When we go we walk thru the city in medieval clothing for an entire week. The food there is excellent. And no, people do not eat pastries here heated up, which is why you got the strange looks. I have an American friend who lives there and owns a shop. I would recommend using a local tour guide there cuz they will take you to a lot more places to see and explain things much better. The night watchman’s tour, the hangman’s tour, and the Amelia’s singing tour are musts. You have to do those at night however. Amelia’s tour will eventually end up in a church and she will sing a song in there. If you don’t get goosebumps then you’re dead inside. You missed out on a lot there as well. Older people over here are always taking tours. That’s a normal thing to do cuz it’s much better than just sitting around doing nothing. Unlike back in the States people walk a lot over here. A lot. A lot. We get a lot of vacation time here and people are always going all over the place. Not too many people are wait g until retirement to go see and do things, that’s strictly an American thing. You will see people using those walking sticks everywhere. I think they use them just to use them but it’s probably also so that they keep mobility in their limbs. If you didn’t notice, bikes are also a big thing here as well. People use cars when they have to, but if you can walk there or take a bike then most do that. Public transportation is not as punctual as it used to be and takes time getting used to it, but once you understand it then it is gold. The tour guide you had was more than likely from Africa……..a lot of Africans do not like melinated Americans. They don’t see us and will go out of their way to not look in our direction. It is what it is and after all these years of living here I pay it no mind. I’ve met some wonderful people from that continent, no doubt, but a ton of them don’t want to have anything to do with us. Not sure why but also don’t care either. There are a lot of different places to go see here that aren’t tourist attractions like Berlin. I always tell people from back home that they’re missing out just visiting these hot spots. The hot spots are nice, but you’re really missing out on the good stuff just going there. I’ve been living here for a long time now and just when I thought I’ve seen it all, I always find somewhere else that will take your breath away.
Same goes for England too, I think you’ve been to London right? If you go to England again some day a lot of the nicer scenery and historical buildings etc are in small towns and villages etc. Some other cities too like Bath for example 👍. Love the vlogs Dee! 😎
@DeeShanellTV Go to Yorkshire during Christmas, looks like Harry Potter and that's where the Yorkshire pudding was created, there's also a kitkat factory there. It's a stunning quaint place.
This is going to sound weird but maybe bro wasn’t racist. I think some men treat beautiful women badly preemptively for fear of rejection. Dee got good instincts tho so idk.
I understand people wanting to protect their culture and Germans have that right. But many of them are racists, I lived in Germany for many years, I've seen and heard the racists. My German landlady believed black people had tails and she openly talked about it. One of my husbands black co-workers stopped by to check on me when my husband was on mission and the German landlady would not let him in the building. Then she yelled at me the next day about a black man being on her property. I had a lot of good experiences all over Europe and felt i was respectful of everyone's culture. I will add that my experience in Germany was due to military tours and during the time i was there, a lot of German gals were marrying black American soldiers. See, that means a nice military paycheck with free housing, benefits and a free flight to the U.S. to live the American dream. PLUS, Germany pays their mothers a monthly stipend if they have kids so you know, there's plenty of incentive to fall. in. love.
Nah cause twice in the same day? yeah he was playing in your face sis lmao, out of EVERYBODY he just so happen to skip u twice?? And u alrdy made it a point to let him know he had already done it… so he should’ve made u priority for the next time… yeah he would’ve got an ear full 🙄
Rodney King is deceased, BTW. Americans don't have the opportunity to travel much because of exactly what you said, including minimal vacation time. It's easy to understand why there are some Americans who've never left the state of their birth, or even the county. Yes, this is said to be true. There are those who may accumulate vacation time on their jobs, but they fear using it at some companies as they fear being replaced on their job while on vacation. They also fear using the time to take a vacation because some coworkers or bosses make them feel guilty for using time which is their own. These folks also sneer and scorn the idea of even taking vacations. Weird. I understand that this mindset is totally absent in the more advanced countries in Europe.
You should definitely share your story about the discrimination from the second tour guide on trip advisor and Google maps. Please use his name because his microaggressions need to be stopped. I used to be a guide for Munich and neuschwanstein and a bad review will make him wish he apologized to you. Sorry you experienced that

Dee, the video quality is crazy!!!!! You are killin it 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
That means a lot, thank you 😊
Yes it is weird to ask to have a pastry heated up it can cause it to go like rubber.
I agree
From the dedication to travelling which in itself can be a hassle at times to the excursions stunning scenery and qaulity editing you got crazy work ethic
Aw thanks, I really appreciate that! 💕
@@DeeShanellTVi always tap in to your content especially when im having a crappy day i always get cheered up being in alot of pain with my disabilities as you are very funny so keep up the great work
Not the Rodney King’s riot in 2020 😂😂 18:34
Awwww.....bless their hearts
XD
This video reminded me of my travels to Germany. I was surprised I didn't encounter any racism the 4 times I traveled there. I went for work bit ventored off. I visited most of the "romantic" castles, Munich, Heidelberg, Oberammergau, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Rothenburg, Garmisch & more.
“Not Homey in a crusty way”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
haha I totally got this ...crispy clean is my fav cozy too :)
Love this editing super proud of you it looks so good The music cracked me up though 10/10 and I don't even watch vlogs like that but this is evERythinnnng
Thanks so much babes, appreciate you 🤗
3:10 at this point Dee can’t decide if she likes going on the tours or not 😂 Every vlog she switches side but I’m here for the journey either way lmao
Lmao I got a love/hate relationship with them 😂
31:23 oh hell noooo
I’ve experienced this before many times as a dark skin toned Asian and it’s so damn annoying to have to sit through it
Are you Filipino or?
@ Cambodian
My Black friend moved from Hungary to Sweden. She is American as I am. She said in Sweden the Blacks from Africa seem to not like her at all; She always gets nasty looks from them, her husband is Swedish so she wonders if they are jealous or what.
Africans don’t know how to act esp if cent or west Africans etc
Africans don’t like ADOS American blacks. I no longer call myself African American. I am black because of horrible treatment from Africans.
I love the scenery in Munich, everything looks like its straight out of a painting 😂
I’m obsessed with the way u edit these vlogs ❤
Other black people outside of America (males mostly) be hating on Black women too (especially AAW). Plain jealousy nothing else.
Those african born French black people are something else
That’s so strange because they’re travelling right?! They wish they could travel as much
Omfg please stfu. U people love hating on Black men when White people discriminate on us 24/7
Ur disgusting. Foreigners aren't fans of AMERICANs period. U white man lovers stay trying to hate on Blacks. Disgusting
@@DippydatippyThe French born black people are terrible. Even towards their own women.
Btw: Microwaving is unhealthy! Ask if they can heat it in the oven next time..
Dee ima need you to drop these playlists for these videos😭 the remixes are fireee btw loved this !
Always take public transportation from the airport to the city, it's great! Uber is the biggest exploitative company.
You are so beautiful. I can’t wait to see what adventures you take us on next.
Thanks my love 🤗
Isnt there US Military bases in the area?
US bases are all over Germany and Europe. I lived in Hanau, Gelnhausen and Bischoffsheim which were all small bases in Central Germany.
There's racist black people as well. I'm turkish and I experience more racism from turks than from germans in germany cuz its usually by these turks who try their hardest to be german and they freak out whenever they meet another turk. maybe your tour guide was like that too
Visit Northern or Western German cities like Cologne, Hamburg etc.
East and South are weird especially towards non german people
Yes, the warming up thing is probably a US thing, and the extreme cooling down of drinks, which changes the taste.
Aw appreciate you, much love! ❤️
I love to see the independent flourish, God bless you
Just came across your contents and you really have a nice music. Keep slaying!🥰🤩
@ thank you🙏and stay blessed
Dont take random cabs in europe ..or afrika
In regards to reheating pastry, it's a thing in the UK too. We have options in some stores to heat up a pastry product you purchase (if it was already cold) or even if I've been in a restaurant I've been able to re heat, and the staff have been ok with it.
Love the shots of the city and the buildings it looks great! Always love the travel vlogs 💜
Thanks babes 🤗
Im black and living in Berlin. Its nasty and beautiful at the same time😅 if you dont want to visit Berlin I would recommend Cologne or Hamburg. But Berlin is really cool ❤ although you have to come during the summer. Winter in Berlin is dreadful
Frankfurt is much better than Cologne
You unfortunately did not eat with that German sentence 😂❤
Damn, thought I did lmaoo
Not trynna be shady but that was the worst I‘ve ever heard somebody try
To speak german im sorry dee😭
@@lvitn7635 ok now you being lame, trying to actually critique it. It was just a funny moment, settle down
Thanks so much! I definitely have to visit Paris eventually, glad you gave it more chances and had a great experience :)
Could be because you’re American. Sometimes Europeans just don’t like loud Americans or any Americans.
Very valid, I realized this all too well in the next video I’m uploading lol
the editing, the skin, just top tier. i’ve recently started traveling thanks to my new high paying job 🫡 so i definitely thank u for the traveling tips
Thanks so much! And yass to the new job, congrats!!
Enjoy the world
I was in Munich back in 2001.
Germans go on vacation in August to escape the heat.
Everyone’s experience can be different. I was just in Germany a few weeks a go for Ocktober fest. No issues and also, I went to Mannheim, Regensberg, Dachau, Stuttgurt, no problems, but I know it exist and just not Germany. I like Germany a lot.
Hey Dee, did you get the j cole album? It’s the 10 year one so it’s only like select drops
A lot of people in the rest of the world are against heating things up in a microwave some Americans don’t mind popping things in the microwave like it’s nothing but many others outside the u.s find it unhealthy.
25:56 I'm not saying you are wrong, you could be right about this man and the reason for him using these walking sticks, but I live in Sweden and it's pretty common to see elderly using these sticks when they are out for normal walks on like plain ground/asphalt because it is good for their health to use their arms while walking and in many cases it will have been recommended by their doctor to start using them while going for walks :)
100% agree with what you said about the traveling and being elderly.
In the next video I'm uploading, I have an encounter that I captured that's way worse and it made me realize that it wasn't my race that they didn't like, it's my nationality lol really sad that they judge us all the same
@@DeeShanellTVI know so many lovely Americans and I can’t comprehend why there’s so much biases against them.
@@DeeShanellTVit’s a shame but it happens…seen it here in the States.
There are no Indians in Germany in large numbers
Aww I’m so sorry to hear about your discrimination experience I hope you or anyone else that looks like us doesn’t go through these type of situations ever again
Visit Augsburg. I was born there outside of Munich. As a kid (this was in the late 80s), I remember a German couple touching my head. According to my teacher at that time, they had never seen hair like mine.
Oh....
I never understood why some people feel the need to touch a stranger's hair like they're some kind of pet..."who raised y'all??" 😒
Hello Dee,
You’re a talented and gutsy young woman to travel around the world alone.
I got to spend 3 days in Rothenburg, inside the walls of the medieval portion. Take Nightman's Watch Tour. Drank amazing beer and relaxed from the business of the trip. It was my favorite stop, especially being in the town square with the cuckcoo clock tower
It is! It’s such a lovely town, that’s cool you got to explore it for 3 days
Germany is not on my travel list but I’ll experience it through your vlog😂 I think South America is the best continent🤲🏽
30:00 ohh they're probably having a wedding! People usually make as much noise as possibly by honking their horn when they're on their way from the church/courthouse ceremony to the party. so everybody knows they're happy haha
Nah it was because their team just won, this was during the Olympics 😂
The only person in Munich that was really rude to me was this black guy at a club 😂 everyone else was really cool and treated me nicely
Hmm the guy at the club was black…I’m noticing a theme lmao but yeah same, most people were nice to me also :)
Cologne is a lot more accessible, perfect size and layout, mix of ancient and modern, very lush at a fair price. Better place with a more interesting mix of activities for a video blog too imo.
What yonce remix is this👀😅, loving your vlogs dee, much love from Australia 🇦🇺
I’m curious to know, are you taking video editing courses or are you learning on your own? These are great quality videos and the editing is so professional and elegant with the cinematography .
Aw thanks Chris, appreciate it! I’m self taught though, UA-cam has endless hours of tutorials on virtually everything lol so I’ve just spent time learning from UA-cam primarily
LA is not dirty smh. There are some areas to avoid of course, but that can be said of many states, and cities.
15:17 😂😂😂 gorllll I appreciate you trying 😂😂😂but I know I couldn’t do any better
🤣 German sounds hella complicated
@ it issss I have a German friend who’s born and raised in Germany, and even she told me it’s hella complicated for no reason 😭
It's good to check out things like this, coming from the US you can't please the other nations too much or try to fit in, all you can do is travel and have nice vacations there especially talking to the blacks about this a lesson learner.
The drone shots are so prettyyy
Does anyone know what camera Dee is using? I LOVE the colours!
She needs to go to Brighton lmaoo
Yes I’ve been to London but definitely wanna go back to England and visit the countryside 🤗
@ Please come to Oxford !!!
@DeeShanellTV Go to Yorkshire during Christmas, looks like Harry Potter and that's where the Yorkshire pudding was created, there's also a kitkat factory there. It's a stunning quaint place.
Come to South Africa. We love you out here
This is going to sound weird but maybe bro wasn’t racist.
PLUS, Germany pays their mothers a monthly stipend if they have kids so you know, there's plenty of incentive to fall. in. love.
When pastries are fresh (baked today) they don’t need to be warmed up.
Dee i have to give you props for walking in that room by yourself, i on the other hand am perfectly fine watching from my phone 😂 peace, blessings ✌🏾
The editing is CLEAN
They heat up pastries and panini sandwiches in England 👍
Tour guide was a Samuel L Jackson in Django type for sure
Germany is one of the coolest place not racist at all
Did you visited Marrakech. 😢🎉🎉
I've been to Europe many times but not Germany yet. Great travel vlog!
Sorry you experienced that
Heating up pastries is an american thing definately not a thing we do here in Germany.
31:47 I was not prepared for that plot twist lmfao
Come to Rotterdam in the Netherlands. 80 percent of us is of foreign descend and we all speak english.
