Ghazalsara UK presents its second Sham-E-Ghazal with leading artists of the UK. Arranged and organised by Mrs Yasmeen Ali & Mr Zeeshan Ali at the Palm Tree Banquet Hall, East London on 26th November 2016.

Tabla to bad ki baat hai... shuru karne se pehle itna accha jo kuch unhone bola hai, apne ustadon ke bare me, aur audience mein baithe hue logon jo izzat di hai .... us hi ko sun ke dil ko bahut khushi mili. Itne polite and respectful artist hain wo. Kya baat hai.
(Tabla comes later ... but even before starting his performance he said such nice things, about his teachers, and gave much respect to those in the audience as well as the previous performers... just listening to that alone made me very glad. What a polite and respectful artist he is. Very nice.)

What an extraordinary art tabla drumming is! Ustad Shahbaz Hussein is certainly a very fine exponent of this art. The rhythmic complexities and sonorities are a joy to listen to. I assume he's from the Punjab gharana since I do seem to recognise some of the Kaydas that remind me of Alla Rakha.
He is indeed from the Punjab Gharana. And he was also the student of Ustad Alla Rakha
Meetu85 You are correct, but he was ALSO the student of Ustad Alla Rakha Khansaab and Ustad Faiyaz Khansaab
He mentions the names of his teachers at the start of the performance (around 0:44): Ustad Miyan Shaukat Hussain Khan, Ustad Faiyaz Khan and Ustad Alla Rakha. He also later mentions that he does, indeed, belong to the Punjab gharana.
What a magnificent performance inspite of the disturbance from audience.

Ustad Tari saab hi ek maatr heera nikale hai ustd shaukat ji ke khaan se. Ustad tari khan is the only diamond ustad mia shaukat carved. Ustad tari ji is among top 10 tabla players of 21st century.
I absolutely agree but ustad shahbaz hussain was also one of the few ‘Heeras’ shaukat ji carved
