The second song might just be the smoothest thing i’ve ever seen
Bill's one of the greatest voices EVER! And he didn't even make his first album until he was 33! His story is incredible! RIP to a legend! It's amazing all the great one's Johnny had on The Tonight Show!
Bill Withers was married to beautiful Denise Nicholas an actrees. Withers flew to a town where Nicholas was working on a movie, went to the hotel, and beat the crap out of her. She filed for divorce, they had been married a year. You know one is committed to wife beating when he drove to the airport, flew in the plane, drove to her hotel room, and not at any time he thought that was a bad idea.
His second marriage didn't last very long either. Nice voice piece of sh*t of a man.
Such a talented man! Bluesy, soulful, gritty, singing from the heart. Bill Withers is missed!
One of the greatest voices of the 70's. Mss him a lot.
So humble..he never changed ✌🏾
What a pleasant surprise to find a Bill Withers segment today. Amazing singer and self-made man. I'd love to see more like this in the future.
The 60s and 70s were an amazing era for music. We haven't seen anything like it since.
Y nunca lo veremos denuevo si la musica sigue involucionando 😅😢
Music nowadays is catchy but no soul or depth.
@@J35Y1 That's what happens when corporations control music.
Bill is so Smooth, when He talks, it's like a Song !!!!
For a guy who used to have a bad stutter,Bill has done well!
I can still remember this song from the summer of 71 …if I remember correctly
Voice of an angel....
Man he was so good
One of the greatest
Thank you, this is absolutely incredible.
real music unlike we have today!
What a lovely day.
Another flawless performance. Thank god for him. Rip
Lovely Day so relaxing to listen to.
This must’ve been a great show with Sir Bill Withers on here. Back when artists could sing as good on stage as in the studio.
I love his voice❤ Grandma's hands still can bring a tear.
It does me the same..what a great song so relatable I hear that song I see my grandma ❤
I love this song!
Like Charlie Pride( may he rest in peace) Bill has a beautiful and Unique voice.
Voice of the 70's to me. ❤
Thank God for the internet, youtube etc. We can still see legends perform.
Great man, great musician
I Love you Bill with all my heart
One of the most memorable pop songs of the 20th century. I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know! It’s so simple and so sincere.
Fantastic!
Always a treat to hear Bill Withers sing
Nicely done.
Wow! Incredible!!!
.. this comfort .. carry us through the uncomfortable of now ..
Wow 😮 ❤from Ireland
One of the very best & a great human being as well.
Absolutely priceless! Thank you so much.
Algunas de sus canciones más reconocidas fueron "Lean on Me", "Ain't No Sunshine", "Use Me", "Just the Two of Us", "Lovely Day" y "Grandma's Hands".
I can only describe his voice as pure and powerful. Thanks for posting. On a side note, I could never understand why so many hosts of that era made such a big deal of promoting a guest’s album. Just hold up the cover and give the name of the album. I think they all had some meaningless moral code about hawking a product. Meanwhile, their entire salary was based on selling ads. Anyway, another great one from the JC archives.
Still Bill...one of the greatest singers.
Cool arrangement on the last tune. Quintessential voice.
There was NO ONE quite like Bill Withers. He was the full package, voice, style, writer, and he was rather entertaining with Johnny on this clip.
When Bill Withers was on the radio, we all listened, every time, to the very last note.
omg...Same love that made me laugh! that's the only live version I've ever heard...This is amazing. Thank you!
Awsome thx
1:36 Real hip hop moment there
He also did "Use Me Up".
Bill Withers had no ambition to be an "entertainer." He wasn't going to dance or tell jokes, so you had to like him on his own terms. And millions of us certainly did.
I don't mind jokes
Makes me emotional each time I hear him❤❤❤❤.
Damn he is good.
I see Michael Landon on the couch as well. I would like to see that interview!
❤❤❤ThankYOU 4Sharing!!!❤🎉 MuchLove!!!❤🎉
so nice
I Know .. I Know .. I Know .. I Know .. ☀️
i know etc what a magnificent repeat
Bill Withers is right up there with Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles and Stevie.
Back when soul music was listenable.
Live no lip syncing. ❤❤
Hard to do it better than that!
I know I know I know I know
robert crays daddy!
Quiet intensity
Ijs - background set looking like toilet lids. Smh. RiseInPeace, King William. xo 8.16.23 ❤
American Me.
I don't think I've ever seen a host b more indifferent towards their guest first you point out he was a skilled tradesman that made toilets not shady at all you miss label one of his greatest songs as Grandma's house and it's actually Grandma's hands which is a beautiful record. And just all around s***** introduction
I thought it was 100% respectful. They both teased each other during the interview. The commode reference was for laughs. but, things were lighter back then, the audiences of today have a dour outlook on every little thing.
DMX did the best version of this song!
Michael Jackson sung it better ngl
Oh yeah hell of voice
