#devilmaycry #devilmaycry5 #dmc - Ігри
I love how dmc is one of the only games where you get the final boss as the playable character and he is still as broken (if not more) than in the boss fight instead of being weak
Fr, vergil is op as hell
@@caiob38 what you Can exept from the motivated dude
Yea, the only move boss Vergil has that playable Vergil doesn't is the one where he flies around the stage
And stabbing Dante in the chest while smiling, and smiling as he does it
And don't forget the silent jackpot.
DmC Devil May Cry was actually the first game to introduce the soundtrack changing based on your style ranking. It was a much simpler system where once you reached S rank the lyrics of the song kicked in, but DMC 5 expanded on it.
DmC was responsible for alot of things in DMC5 like making Vergils DT a doppelganger that only uses the base Yamato while following your inputs, the summoned sword tags for the Darkslayer styles telleports and the Just Release mechanic for the Yamato's Judgement Cut.
There was also smaller things like enemy ai behaviours and design theories, that being that alot of them have specific reactions to specific attacks and the Riots' behaviour and attack pattern design is very similar to the Masked Ninja enemies right down to the point that they'll disappear and start attacking again after a certain amount of hits have been dealt.
@@soulcyclone360 That is *very* interesting to read regarding the enemy behaviours and attack patterns. If it's alright to ask, could you elaborate a bit more on that or refer me to the origin point of that information? Or somewhere where it got discussed more?
dmc5 is a lame copy
@@jurtheorc8117 I'm not aware of the exact source, but I would hazard a guess that it was probably in the development interviews and interviews about the developer's feelings regarding DMC: Devil May Cry and the subsequent entry DMC 5. They mentioned that they were excited to work on a second DMC: Devil May Cry game, but that never happened, so they basically took a load of things they liked about that, what they planned for its sequel, and applied it to DMC 5. That's probably one of the big reasons DMC 5 has the aesthetic it has, compared to previous games, including Nero's new look.
Ninja theory's Devil May cry is the best of all of them
DMC5's OST change based on your style ranking is such a goated feature because it pushes and encourages you to get better and the music that plays from Savage to Smokin Sexy Style is making combat encounters so much more hype it's a reward all in itself.
If you like the music changing based on performance, you should definitely try Metal: Hellsinger. FPS game with metal music where hitting on-beat is greatly rewarded
This was actually introduced with DMC Devil May Cry first
@@ZXaria ooh that’s a fun game
Nah DMC 5 is ballz garbage the stupid arms suck the bs in the air Garbage is garbage and the graphics look Garbage and I got both xb1 and xbseries version
@@NeoMoonSevin graphics are sick and all, but this is devil may cry where you want performance more than fidelity bro
The fact that riding on a rocket fist is considered “standard” just goes to show how amazingly ridiculous this series can get with its moves.
Tbh DmC: devil may cry wasnt that bad, sure the story was ass, but the gameplay was phenomenal
The reboot had more costumes also which dmc4 and dmc5 lack
DmC is a good example for bad story presented very well visually
Suuuure, so good that everything was down to colour coded enemies lol 😂, such combo variety... I'm so happy that we have a DMC5 and the whole reboot is trashed tbh. Whoever defends it are people with very low standards.
Ranking should go as that from worst to the best: DMC2 (worst), DmC Reboot (also trash just tad better), DMC 4 (very repetitive but decent, too little gameplay variety on Nero, too little Dante), DMC1 (great but a lot of quirks polished later), DMC 5 (big in combo, enemies and such but some old quirks Kik camera or lock on, bad level design), and the best is - DMC3.
Updated: i have no idea how Peak of Combat flows so whatever. It's not canon anyways...
the story wasnt even ass either
yeah the character designs were ok even if dante looks like a methhead but i love the gameplay and the story was ok but it could’ve been so much better and i hope we get a sequel that fixes the issues with dontes personality lmao
They never made a Devil May Cry 2. If I recall, they skipped it and went straight to 3.
Then why do we have cavalier in 5?
@@Jeezes718they thought about that from thin air.
@@Jeezes718i always thought it was because of that scene in DMC3 where he was beating up demons with a motorcyle and then it explodes after 😂
@deadlyninja112
That was also because they didn't get to it.
Their plan was to have Dante get a motorcycle weapon, that why he keeps suddenly having one, even when he's in Hell.
But they ran out of time.
So, they referenced it in 3, and finally did it in 5.
Brother if it wasn't for 2 dmc 3 would never have turned out the was it did be grateful.
canon vergil: **murders thousands of innocent people in cold blood for his own selfish desires**
fans: aww you're so sweet!
reboot vergil: **kills a demon baby that could have potentially destroyed the entire world**
fans: hello, human resources?!
I feel like I’m the only DMC fan that really enjoyed the gameplay of the reboot game. I wish they stuck with the aesthetic of the first trailer they made for the game, it seemed like a much more interesting story. Regardless, this video is really good. Glad to see other fans here as well.
You're definitely not alone there. I do enjoy it, but I just like the OG series more. It's funny that you mention that first trailer because I was always curious about how that story / style would have panned out if they fully committed to it.
I think the thing was always the gameplay was pretty good but everything else around it was bad, also remember the Reboot game only had auto lock on, no manual, the blue and red coloured enemies would bounce you off them if you used anything that didn't match the colour, and the style ranking wasn't based on variety it was pure damage so you could just spam the same heavy axe move to get SSS, all that on the launch version of the game, it was only the updated version later that changed that stuff that made the gameplay good, so if you pair that with everything else you can see why people hated it and didn't want to go back after an update.
I also wish they had stuck with the original trailer version of the aesthetics, it would make sense for grungy depressed punk rock Dante to be like that as a teen, they could have actually fit it into the canon like that with him not knowing about the corruption around him and slowly figuring out his powers and the importance of stopping the other demons, it could have been really cool, but they went too far in a different direction, reminder, the director of that reboot said Dante was a gay cowboy, and said he's not cool, then showed a picture of what he thought was cool, and it was a picture of the director smoking wearing a punk jacket trying to look cool, he then told the team to design Dante after that.
I might be wrong but I think they had a different director come in to finish off the project because that guy wasn't doing good enough too, so even the good parts of the game could be attributed to someone else.
I really like DmC too. Still hoping for a sequel, or even a remake.
Me too, love the DMC reboot@@wavefile1674
You're not alone. I will go as far as saying i think "Dmc the definitive version" is the best in the series. Loved the gameplay. Loved Dante's new look. Loved the Angel and demon weapons/enemies. Loved the bosses. Loved the fact you could pick different skins. It's overall just a super solid game. I wish they continued with a part 2.
I read the developers were already busy with making the first lvl of part 2 which continues where Dmc ends. Dante beated Virgil and is now protecting the earth from demons. Then after beating the first lvl, Dante sees this huge Angel warrior at the horizon and a boss battle starts.
They wanted to focus more on the Angel warriors in part 2, which sounds awesome to me. But somehow they didn't get the "okay" to make the game. Major downer. Truly loved Dmc.
What I love about dmc3 is that each weapon has a unique devil trigger skin
and they're also the best looking ones imo. aside from majin and SDT, I think all the designs since 3 have looked really bad. vergil has also always looked good in every game too
@@appleonshoe845 Except in DMC5 where it looks like his Sin DT has a motor engine on his head lmao
Fantastic tier list and im always glad to see DMC5 get the praise it deserves for being such a legendary game, even outside of the DMC series!
DMC5 is the GOAT! I just wish that the devs had added different costume options instead of just a simple re-color.. 💀
@@Milz.TIt would been cool playing as dmc2 Dante outfit
@@Milz.TBlue Vergil was enough for me personally. I honestly just like the designs for Nero and Dante in this game tho so I don’t mind the non existent extra costumes.
Do people even realize that DMC5 ONLY has good combat???
Because its art direction is one of the most bland in the series, has nearly no gothic architecture, the platforming segments are non existent, the puzzles and backtracking is completely gone, exploring big zones without doing anything between fighting is BORING, locations are repetitive, all the cool action in cutscenes takes less than 2 minutes, probably.
And speaking of combat - the difficulty is too easy even on hardest available at the beginning difficulty.
I'm not going to replay the game to finally have some challenge 😑 Also, the V segments...
How is this game so great, supposedly?
@@turbotrup96 L take and L opinion. DMC 5 GOATED easily.
"No hiding in the shadows anymore". This one line had me bawling when DMC 5 got announced. After over a decade, CAPCOM gave us the game we had been wanting for. DMC 5 will always be a special game to me
It's so sad what happened with Peak of Combat, however if it brings more people to DMC then I'm happy
I may just a huge casual normie, but i really enjoyy the hec out of DMC Mobile, still now, especially after just getting Vergil SS (Sword) n Dante SS (punch). They're so much fun n simple, fr.
@@ahmadraif9989 Talk about low standards for fun huh. You must be entertained so easily i bet. And i don't say this as a hater, it's just that DMC3 does what Peak of Combat does but far better. So why not just play DMC3/4/5 over a trashy mobile game that wants your money?
What i'm saying is that i'm sure you can have more fun playing those games than the mobile one. Wouldn't that be true for you?
Nice to see a DMC fan giving the reboot a fair shake. It's not a bad game at all and with the improvements made in the PS4 version it's in my top 3 DMC games just behind 5 and 3. Also, it easily has the best level design in the whole series and best platforming too.
Even though in general I agree that reboot isn't bad as an action game (especially outside of the series) I have to make some remarks.
1. I played it on release and it was horrible, due to "beat red monsters with red weapon, blue with blue or you get stunned", "you can spam any 1 button to get S rank and it will not drop after being hit", etc. From what I've heard about patches and updates - seems like they've made it better afterwards but it was late for me.
2. Level design is very subjective. Personally I hate limbo cause it feels cheap by making the whole screen messy while in other games of the series you can wonder around and inspect gothic surroundings and such. Comparatively it takes nearly no skill to shuffle textures into a mess instead of creating something thoughtful. Saying that as an artist myself.
3. Actually it has worst platforming. DMC is not about platforming which was all over the place in reboot and it was always pointless. You have a couple places with platforming in each game of the series but they are rare and made as puzzles of some sort. Like jumping on rotating cubes in DMC3. Platforming in reboot is just a braindead spider-man simulator where you basically cannot fail and the only thing they are doing - prolonging the playtime of a slasher via non-combat activities.
4. Real achievement of reboot in comparison with other games in a series - no back tracking and short but unique questline for Vergil. That was really refreshing however no one ever mentioned it in my memory among people who liked reboot for whatever reasons.
Just wanted to say that there are pros and cons, but none of them are universally "easily the best"
No, it does have the best level design, just study Ninja Theory's work on it and you'll see.
Basically you said "okay, you have some points, but in my personal taste it wasn't that great"
Stop taking your personal experience and assuming it is the only truth about the game@@aerdramonn
I still think the reboot sucks.
Besides everything, I never understood why people talk badly about the story of the reboot when the series never stood out for having a minimally coherent story
Yeah the reboot is a good game you cannot lie. It was my first DMC experience and I quite enjoyed it. However, after playing the other DMC games I can understand the debate. The reboot doesnt feel like it belongs to DMC universe
Casey Edwards is a LEGEND. Bury The Light was actually gonna be like 6 minutes long, that would have fit the brief for the job he was given, but he gave us that whole ending just out of love for it.
Great video man. Watching stuff like this always gets me back into replaying the series myself
Man I really hope we get a dmc6 focused on vergil and dante, there’s still a goldmine worth of fulfilling potential for stories there, it’d be criminal to end their story with 5, as good and cathartic as it was.
The period leading up to DMC 5 release gotta be one of my favorites periods on the internet, the level of hype from the community was contagious
Dmc4 quality:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Dmc4 popularity:
Im over Rated it,but no one talk about dmc 4 bro like tf
@@ksabar234 DMC4 was the most popular DMC game until 5 came out and it was critisized for how unfinished it was
DMC4 is pretty obsolete now with DMC5 being better than it in every department
@@ksabar234 quality? The game that was coded on masking tape and has more design flaws than DMC1? You only like that game because it's as broken as it is, and even then you have to overlook so many issues just to make an argument for it.
really enjoyable to have a recent video talking about dmc! keep the great job going!
you are doing a great job with these rankings
The running on walls thing for DMC 2 is pretty dope NGL
I still play DmC to this day. It's a good game, and the while purgatory concept is cool.
I like how you saved the best for last with DMC5 on your tier list.
Enjoyed this thoroughly. Thank you, brother 😊
Great vid, dude. Well done. I can tell you put tons of love into this one.
Thanks Sages! That means a lot coming from you 👊
Poc definitely doesn't deserve to be in same tier with Dmc4
DMC2 is definitely best played with Trish, if you survive the grind to get her.
Great to hear from R K taking about the mobile games. I´m sure, I´ve watched every of his move compilations on POC 1.0.
I got introduced to DMC cause of MVC3 too!!!
I would love to see a vid of you playing MVC3 with Dante,Trish and Vergil sometime
My team is actually Zero May Cry, which is still technically a DMC team since it has Johnny voicing Zero
@@AntonioRedgrave this the coolest team in the game imo and it's strong asf so you've hit the jackpot with it
It's funny because i mained them not knowing how strong the team actually was. I went to my first tournament and someone there introduced me to the ZMC tech, and I have not looked back since LOL
Hey gamer, great video, liked it a lot. Found you through your Hi Fi Rush videos but I've liked DMC for a long time so decided to stick around, even if I am a fake fan who has only played V
As a long time fan who has played every game, DMC5 was such a pleasant surprise. The combat is some of the best in gaming, the feeling of ending a fight with SSS rank, and the slow motion. Definitely right up there with DMC3, imo.
I didn't know there was a dmc4 mobile, kinda cool. Thanks for the video, and great points with in depth analysis!
Peak of Combat belongs in the void though
Ironically DmC Devil May Cry was my first introduction to the series as it was free on game pass. then I found out it was a reboot and played Devil May Cry 5 as it was also free with game pass, and its the most fun I've ever had with gaming ever, i couldn't afford the older games but watched all the gameplay walkthroughs etc and my god its one of, if not my favorite game series by far. I really hope they remaster some of the previous games eventually as seeing young Dante etc in newer graphics would be phenomenal. Amazing tier list btw!!!
What an awesome review dear, couldn't agree more! 👍🏻
DmC is really nostalgic for me because it's one of the first games I ever played. I can definitely recognize it's not as good as the other games in the series, but it's still a good play. The combat's smooth and the music's good.
Great rankings man
Definitely accurate, DMCV is my favorite one in the series since 3 and the inclusion of Virgil as a playable character made sense and felt phenomenal. I just played through his missions and Yamato feels better to play with than any of the previous games.
Why does dante from DMC devil may cry looks like The twitch streamer Dantes 💀
I can't unsee that now 😅
Usually Games would use a real person for face modelling however this time real life is using the game character for face modelling a real life person
Can't believe you didn't mention DMC5 giving Vergil the most op item ever
THE PLASTIC CHAIR
This is the first video where I've seen some good takes about peak of combat.
27:27 I actually dont mind that the enemies fly into the air when you activate the DT, gives you a free opening to do an air combo against stronger enemies
I'm kinda scared to see if DMC6 can even live up to the hype after how good DMC5 was, it would be nice to get Lady and Trish as fleshed out as the characters in 5 too, but it seems making full set of levels or having more fleshed out combat is a challenge to get both in the same game. 4 and 5 had levels split between the characters.
a game based around lady trish and lucia would be dope ngl
Great video.
I figured to add a neat little fun fact about DMC3 and the special edition.
Did you know that your attacks change when you get your combo rank to SSS?
When in SSS, your attacks will appear flashier/bigger and the attacks' damage value is enhanced.
They should remake DMC2
More like they should finish making it.
Props for not completing thrashing DmC, I was expecting it to end up in F tiers cause everybody hates it, I get it but it really wasn't a bad game I even believe it would have had one or 2 sequels by now if it wasn't tied to the dmc name and was it's own Ip
It's a pretty good game even without the Definitive Edition (DE is definitely leagues above the base game but I stand by my point). Heck alot of DMC5 has DmC inspiration written all over it so to say it did nothing right like all the irrational haters claim is bogus.
Good games are allowed to have flaws that you wished didn't exist, heck, all other DMC games are examples of that.
cool tier list
Blud rly did a 1 hour tier list video for 16 games
The only bad thing about DmC Definitive Edition is that it's not on PC. I want all the new stuff that's in there!
I finally realized what DmC is, it's Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Basically a game that someone made hearing about the game and making it with best intentions but you can tell it's ok at best.
Legit got DMC V for PC last year without knowing that I also bought Vergil as well and after a few months I finally found out and had the time of my life XD
"And I guess Gunslinger is here too." Well there goes my mouthful of drink.
What do you guys think of the idea of a HD 2D sprites graphics or 2.5D graphics metroidvania style gameplay demake of DMC1 or DMC3?
DmC reboot genuinely had so much potential, i really liked the combat style of dante having all weapons at the same time, platforming (kinda) felt nice too and the concept of us being in the limbo world and the world design itself looked really great too. The game itself felt really smooth and I'm just mad that a lot of that potential was wasted because of the character designs, their personality and the whole story, and most of all...vergil. just why did they make vergil so trash? it pissed me off.
I just bought the reboot a couple days ago(the original. Not the definitive edition) and I can say I'm having a blast. I will admit not being able to manually lock on was a bit strange at first but I'd say it was pretty good.
Just got into the DmC series with DMC:V on PC
God, I suck ass at the game but it’s still been fun to finish the story and try to become better and better.
Everyone starts somewhere. It took me YEARS of pouring hundreds of hours into these games before things started to click. Even now, I still struggle with certain characters. Definitely focus on having fun and the skills will devlop over time!
@@AntonioRedgraveYeah after the main campaign I switched to Vergil on Normal and it’s crazy how much more fun it felt when you (get tricked) into feeling like you have skill.
Really great vid on all the different games! Having a guest Revolthell come in about the *SUPER* obscure stuff was great.
I remember playing through DMC 2 on Lucia Must Die mode and Tateobesu (the underwater boss) was by far the worst boss to have to fight against. The boss can go invisible and you can’t aim it at when it does this. During the entire boss fight, it went invisible, so I had to sit there and hope that I aimed at it correctly. I don’t remember how many hours I spent trying to kill that boss.
Very good list IMO as a fan of the series
After all the Resident Evil remakes that have come out, I would love a DMC1 and DMC2 remake in that same vain. Like, give them the DMC5 treatment with 3rd person fighting and all that.
I have the mobile version of DMC4 on my modern iPad, I bought the game a long time ago and all I did was go to my purchases and I was able to download it with no problem
Boss fights in DmC are exquisite and very well designed. The soundtrack rocks too. Really enjoyed DmC.
Same. Game got way too much hate, but imo it still holds up today.
I might even say the soundtrack is better than 5.
I knew about DMC prior to the reboot... but the reboot is what introduced me. I won't defend it, but I won't abandon it.
"DMC4 clearly has top tier production value." I would not be so sure about that. Reportedly DMC4´s budget was very similar to what the other games got. MT Framework makes the game look gorgeous, but the developers were cutting corning wherever possible right from the start, at one point they were not even planning for Dante to be a playable character.
I know that they ran out of time but I wasn't 100% sure on what their budget situation was like. I did also hear that Dante was a last minute addition to service the Dante fans, I think it was Reuben that said it in that Power Rangers interview with Dan and Johnny
Hey man, new to the channel. Found you through your Bayonetta videos😎 I recently got back into hacknslash games after years of not playing them and i fell in love with all the Bayonetta games and DMC5 again. Admittedly, I cant be called a real dmc fan since ive only seen my cousin play dmc1 and 3 when i was a kid and Ive only played dmc5😅 Thats why I appreciate the story recap they present to you in the menu for new guys like me, but I love the game enough to attempt the platinum on ps5.
I have all the Bayonettas on switch but should I pick up the DMC collection on ps4 or buy the old games on switch, if I want more?🤔
I really appreciate the comment!
As for your question, that's entirely up to you. Normally I'd just say buy the HD Collection but DMC3 on the Switch has those extra features... in terms of saving money while getting the best of both worlds, i feel like you could get the HD collection when it's on sale and *also* buy 3SE on Switch
@@AntonioRedgrave Sounds good, I think Ill start with the HD collection on ps4 and get dmc3 se on switch when its on sale later down the road. Judging by the fanbase's reaction, It seems I should avoid dmc2 and honestly it definetely looks like the worst of them all lol The best games seem to be the odd numbered ones (1, 3, 5).
I'm hoping for DMC6 and Bayonetta 4. They both have potential to be even better and its funny that they both might have similar storylines: Nero possibly going to the Underworld to rescue Dante and Vergil just like how Bayo 4 could be Viola on a journey to earn her title, while somehow saving Luka and Bayonetta from the depths of hell. Where do you think these series will go?
I'd still play 2 at some point. It's actually fun to experience it in the context where you *know* it's not going to be as great.
In terms of where both DMC and Bayo are heading, my biggest hope is they stick with the Mission structure instead of chasing trends. Bayo 3 was originally supposed to be open world and even though i guess it *could* work, i think they should continue to innovate on what they do best
@@AntonioRedgrave Alright, ill give dmc2 a chance when i get the collection lol But Im also glad you made that statement about not chasing trends. I wish more people would agree with that. Not everything needs to be open world and theres nothing wrong with mission based or linear/semi-linear gameplay (Ex: Look at Armored Core 6). If it aint broke dont fix it. They should just continue to do what theyve always done, listen to fan feedback and stick to what makes these games so unique and badass.
Im not worried about dmc6, so what Im really hoping for in Bayo 4 is the demon mechanic returning (I ended up loving it), revamping/fixing Viola's combat and most importantly...give us remappable buttons goddamnit!😂 (Theres no excuse when dmc and most modern games let you do that🤷♂️)
Was a late comer to the series with the 360 Collection but 4 especially made me fall in love with the series
I just finished dmc dmc about a week ago, it wouldve been liked more if it didnt have dmc in the title, also i find it funny they took vergils fedora in the remaster
DMC4SE is actually why we have DMC5. It was simply a little nod to the fanbase after DmC released but many fans took that as "They're going back to old Devil May Cry" which made it the most successful DMC game. Which then made Capcom realize how much they fucked up rebooting something that only needed few tweaks. Also about the "Lack of enemies" that's just straight up a bad critic and a huge lack of understanding about action games as a whole. DmC technically has less enemies but no one complains there. Really telling how people parrot bad opinions simply because everyone else says it. The enemies in 4 were fantastic callbacks to older DMCs.
DMC 5 was my first introduction into the Franchise. After that i decided to play the rest of the games. Since then ive became a big DMC fan. About DMC Reboot, i personally loved the gameplay and the story was good!
Doppelgänger in devil may cry 3 is kind of like Virgil when he creates his clone
My favourite game too, first time I saw Nero and his hand and saw the dmc devil may cry 2013 first and played dmc 3 for first time
My rank excluding the vanilla versions:
DMC3 = DMC1 > DmC = DMC5 > DMC4 >DMC2
That DMC 1 Dante mocking is too accurate 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was never ever able to completely learn how to use dante in dmc 4
I will go as far as saying i think "Dmc the definitive version" is the best in the series. Loved the gameplay. Loved Dante's new look. Loved the Angel and demon weapons/enemies. Loved the bosses. Loved the fact you could pick different skins. It's overall just a super solid game. I wish they continued with a part 2.
I read the developers were already busy with making the first lvl of part 2 which continues where Dmc ends. Dante beated Vergil and is now protecting the earth from demons. Then after beating the first lvl, Dante sees this huge Angel warrior at the horizon and a boss battle starts.
They wanted to focus more on the Angel warriors in part 2, which sounds awesome to me. But somehow they didn't get the "okay" to make the game. Major downer. Truly loved Dmc.
dmc 3, 4 and 5 are the pinacle of action games imo. Everything from gameplay to the music is perfect.
I personally think dmc 4 se actually fixes a lot of issues for the game especially the content, it adds replay value because of the 3 new characters and i also heard grinding for soul orbs in the original was very tedious and they changed it in se to make it less annoying, id probably put it at A tier
Two of those three characters mostly recycle what Dante has while introducing their own problems. Vergils only real down side is that once you hit an enemy with a Summoned Sword your Darkslayer dodge will always go straight to the enemy and lock you out of your up dodge until the sword despawns, so glad that didn't come back for DMC5
DMC4 is what got me into gaming for real, i love the dmc story and i vibe with it, DMC5 came out when i moved to the UK and it was the best birthday present i ever bough to myself. The Hype is real. But sadly yeah the DMC Devil may cry did us dirty with the Vergil sniping a pregnant woman. Now that i think back at it (im 30yo) thats so immoral. But Casey did us justice with banger soundtracks and i love all the varriety of shorts/memes that came to life. Gib Vergil more power please
My SSS Tier:
DMC3SE for the Switch and DMC5SE
My S Tier:
DMC3SE and DMC5
My A Tier: DMC3 OG and DMC4SE
My B Tier:
DMC4 and DMC1
My C Tier:
DMC Reboot
My D Tier: DMC2
Man, it cant be said enough but GOD BLESS Casey!
I was one of those that hated the trailer of DMC Devil May Cry but I did pre order it cause I was curious about it and honestly I really enjoyed it I bought it on both ps3 and when the definitive edition came out on ps4 and not gonna lie I was hoping to see a sequel to this game would I put this high on a DMC list? no not at all but I did enjoy it and I agree with you putting it in the C rank
Gameplay-wise, closest thing to a sequel to DMC: Devil May Cry i can think of is Soulstice. Fun game, got its rough parts for sure but for a game with a production level similar to let's say the first Darksiders there is a lot of clear attention put into the game.
Plus some influence from DMC: DmC with the dial combos, overlapping button inputs for weapons that still have subtle differences, and the color coding mechanism, BUT it's tied to casting up a Red or Blue forcefield instead.
So instead of only able to use blue weapons on blue enemies, you can use *any* weapon on *any* enemy.
There's around seven weapons in total, a mix between a Special Meter and Style meter that allows for unique combo string finishers depending on the weapon, multiple Special Forms, and just over twenty enemy types that can have fairly extensive movesets.
Some enemies can be a bit annoying and as for other downsides, there's a number of complaints on the camera as well as the story dragging out/being quite backloaded on actual hype moments.
Hope this made you curious and that you may try it for yourself! The devs want to continue on with the story, and i hope that spreading word on it will help them achieve the potential they carry.
You wouldn't believe this, but I'm in the same camp as you regarding the DMC: Devil May Cry. I just liked the game, but it's really not the best one in the series, not even close. If we're taking only the mainline games, it's 3, 5, 4, 1, 2 for me. The reboot is just a more edgy take on the series, it has its moments.
Funny thing is, im on mission 6 of the original dmc.
I'm nicely surprised you didn't put DmC: Devil May Cry as "Into the void". It is a solid game, and if it wasn't for the existence of the other games, everyone would've loved it. People are just mad you don't get long-white-hair-cool-as-fuck Dante.
Imagine a DMC live action movie/series 🤔😳
re4 og dmc3 godhand capcom's best
+ DmC gameplay was REVOLUTIONARY
1. Dmc 5 (best music in maybe all of gaming, incredible gameplay and story, and amazing visuals and boss fights)
2. Dmc 4 (Awesome world and environments, great bosses and combat, and a very enthralling story. Biggest issue is backtracking)
3. Dmc 3 (Great world, although some of the level design and enemies can be annoying, great music and boss fights and the best story)
4. Dmc 1 (Awesome atmosphere, solid music and bosses, combat is slow and kinda clunky tho)
5. Dmc 2 (Final boss is excellent, everything else is a step down from the previous game)
6. Dmc devil may cry (gotta be the worst story in a game ever. Its seriously horrendous, Gameplay is alright tho)
Both DmC/DE for me. Tried the First DMC and returned it the next day.
If there's any improvement on devil may cry 5 SE and there's a 6, even if i have to wait 10 years. My head will literally explode and im sure any person that loves this series as much head will xplode also😂😭
Oh man... the peak of combat tragedy still gets me... This mobile game actually improved Vergil's gameplay and did way more for every character.. but then the changed it 2.0.
Yo i wish i knew about these dmc mobile games and could have played them
1st 1 is still my favorite, it’s just got the vibes
Peak of Combat being over the DmC reboot is a massive f-bomb to everyone here, considering how influential it was for DMC 5 and even DMC 4 SE.
But regarding Peak of combat, I'll give you a hint, you should download and play it right now considering it's free.
DMC Devil May Cry is the only game where you could beat Hell and Hell mod without being those 0.01 perfect frame godlike stylish player. At the start i was like what the hell is this, but as you said it, every button had some point and the only DMC game where i felt comfortable playing it on harder difficulty
itsuno is about to release dragons dogma so i hopefully assume he's about to work on DMC6 after that, unless he wants to work on a new project completely
honestly what could they make for dmc6? in terms of story or gameplay, i feel like we reached a peak with dmc5 unless they plan on adding another new character
They could make a story about Nero since Dante and Vergil probably won't be coming back so soon

Good video but I would have used the style ranks for ranking the games
I just hope they make an actual mobile dmc game with no micro transaction like just behind a paywall
There's a dt explosion if you hold the button down? I got the platinum trophy and never knew this.
It’s not overly useful since you spend your DT to make it happen.
I can hear "most broken virgin of vergil" in 49:33
I respect your opinion,stranger
W list
I also have a DMC3 special edition in my Nintendo Switch but this version has freestyle mode. But the other consoles or pc don't have freestyle only Nintendo Switch version have free style to use all Weapons, Firearms, and Style switch during the missions and also my dad used to play dmc3 in the ps2 it's also his favorite game.
