Nately your beautiful voice is so awesome I can't get enough of your beautiful music 🎶🎼🎶🎼🎶 you girls are the bestest entertainer's on the planet go girl 🙏 Canada love's your beautiful music 🎵🎶🎼🎶 of you and your beautiful sisters
This is one of my very favorite songs for message, melody, acoustic instrumentation but mostly "heart." Authenitic American music is what I say it is. This is really hard to find unless you buy a Ricky Skaggs album. The people who like the Kentucky Headhunters better do not care for the "heart" and the great acoustic picking in this nice duet.
great song. I LOVE the Dixie Chicks!!! They r my favorite since I can remeber. I also agree what they said. Who accompanies them in this song? Thanks for posting this.
This version sounds purer to me..I like my country and bluegrass old timey. I did not like this song until I heard this version. The Chicks rule, haters drool
+Mandolin1944 I think the poster covered that with "version of this song" ..and r Skaggs played with Bill Monroe. They do it a fine justice, me thinks.
This song is from a copulation record Ricky Scaggs recorded with a bunch of country singers it is all Bluegrass I can't find my CD and I don't remeber the name of it.
The Chicks should have listened to more Johnny Cash, and "The one on the Right is on the left." They should have taken the advice of the song. They wouldn't be where they are. It is a shame too, because they are exceptional musicians.
Johnny Cash ought to have stuck to what he knows, and left half-baked political notions alone. The Chicks are HEROINES for uttering that the Emperor had no clothes.
madpuppy1000 No one cares about their politics. As for not releasing an album since 2006 by choice; the choice was made for them. Nobody wanted to buy their music, no matter how good it is. They are in country music and the listeners are more conservative than liberal. As for Cash he wasn't singing about political opinions, he was warning against putting them in the music. I simply don't care for an entertainers politics. I didn't pay upwards of a $50 dollar bill to hear politics. I want to hear music. She had a right to her opinion, and those who disagree have that right also. She put her opinion out there, she must bear the consequences both good and bad. I have an opinion, and have paid a price for it, so can she. It is a shame that 3 or 4 years after they broke out not one was a millionaire. All those units they sold, and all the work they did, just so Sony could screw them, it is just a shame because they should still be popular, because they are exceptional musicians. They should be paid commiserate with their musically ability.
A LOT of people care about their politics. In fact, more public personalities should stand up for what is right and against what is wrong in this world. Sadly, most just take the easy way out and keep silent. To the few who find the courage to take a public stand for their convictions, a tip of the hat and a thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Marvin Thayer "As for not releasing an album since 2006 by choice; the choice was made for them. Nobody wanted to buy their music, no matter how good it is." Natalie's comment happened in 2003. Like I said, their post-controversy album was a big success. 9th best selling album of 2006, and that's with almost no radio play. Radio play is/was the biggest help for musicians to sell albums. They managed to sell big the year that broke the record for weakest album sales (due to the internet,) and did so without radio on their side. I follow the Dixie Chicks, still to this day. I know the reason why they haven't released an album as the Dixie Chicks since 2006, and it has nothing to do with not being able to. It's by choice. That's a fact that cannot be disputed. That's why it's called a "fact."
@TheBahamabob if you're talking about the passion for the music, i would have to disagree with you. the kentucky headhunters are/were just as passionate about the music as this version. honestly i have more respect for the headhunters than the dixie chicks (namely natalie) as she was obviously more concerned about using her musical ability as a launch pad to throw out her political agenda. ricky skaggs tho, is pretty much amazing. definitely would have made bill monroe proud.
@ROGERSDUCK there is no denying talent, but to use your musical ability as a political agenda is a completely different story. the truth of the matter is that when she went all political, the people she offended were the people that bought their cd's. the same thing happens to a lot of bands. there's a canadian band called wide mouth mason that did the exact same thing, and now they're pretty much the last little kernal of corn floating in the crapper.
I heard this song for the first time today, and so far I've played it four times in a row lol I can never get enough of Natalie's voice!!
Awesome The greatest band and the lead singer has the greatest voice on the planet she's the reason why I love country music 🎵🎶🎼🎶🎼🎶
I haven’t heard this in forever!!! I absolutely LOVE this rendition of the song !!!! I belt it loud! 😊
AMAZING cover by some Amazing Gals!!!!!
They used to play this version on the radio all the time when it was first out. It's a good version.
Love that Bluegrass sound.
I'd never heard this before..It's pretty darn amazing!

Awesome!!! thanks for posting....can't believe I never heard this version before....:-)
I love this cover - one of their best. Thanks for posting!
This song was on the album Big Mon, which was a dedication to Bill Monroe. Its a great song!
The Dixie Chicks music makes me think of of my children especially in a melancholy way
ridiculously good.
Great song!!! thanx for postin'!!!
LOVE IT!

Heard it first on the Bill Monroe tribute album 'Big Mon'. So good!
Nice, I'd only heard it with Kentucky Headhunters before, this was quite different. Thanks!
It's from the Album BIG MON, a tribute to Bill Monroe produced by Rick Skaggs.
the song was featured on the album - "big mon: the songs of bill monroe."
great song. I LOVE the Dixie Chicks!!! They r my favorite since I can remeber. I also agree what they said. Who accompanies them in this song? Thanks for posting this.
THE DIXIE CHICKS WERE RIGHT !!! HAVE THE GUTS TO ADMIT IT!!! btw great rendition wow!!!
I like the faster tempo of the Kentucky Headhunters version. But this is a cool and unique cover!
Remember this from when Dixie Chicks and Ricky Skaggs were on tour together.
better then the first version, IMO:)
This version sounds purer to me..I like my country and bluegrass old timey. I did not like this song until I heard this version. The Chicks rule, haters drool
Heard this on Bob Harrris Country, QUALITY!
@idc4294 Bill Monroe wrote this song ages ago...the chicks and ricky scaggs cover it here as did the head hunters in the 80's.
Its not a "Dixie Chicks song" actually it was written by Bill Monroe in 1970.
+Mandolin1944 I think the poster covered that with "version of this song" ..and r Skaggs played with Bill Monroe. They do it a fine justice, me thinks.
+Laura Hawk As you wish but I don't think Ricky was every a Bluegrass Boy -- in the band at least.
Let's not forget Jake Landers who I think wrote it and shared it with Monroe - could be wrong ..
@@kohaylan Correct!!! Jake wrote it for Bill. :)
This song is from a copulation record Ricky Scaggs recorded with a bunch of country singers it is all Bluegrass I can't find my CD and I don't remeber the name of it.
Copulation???!? Dictionary skills need help!!!
Where can I download or stream this? I can't find it anywhere!
Where in the world can you find a copy of this song?
I think is James Taylor

madpuppy1000 What is more sad is that people actually get their political opinions from celebrities, instead of thinking for themselves.

I only came for the music any way.

With Ricky Scaggs

Kentucky Head hunters did it better.
