(Particularly Thr Delphonics)...The J5's first album "Can you remember"...The second album, "La LA means I love you" The Third album, " Ready or not" So give credit to those beautiful string arrangements that came out of Philadelphia...
Philly Groove and Motown were contemporaries. And yes, Thom Bell was a genius of geniuses. But don't act as if Motown copied Philly Groove. Both companies listened to each other and fed off of one another's creativity.

I witnessed this first hand. No extra background singers, no grown-man guitarists, no choreographed extra dancers. Just 5 kids with two sidemen (Johnny and Roderick) producing all of that live sound. Some of us appreciate that.

I had this album in 1971 when I was 9 and when I heard this song the other day, I started bawling like a baby... it's such a beautiful song and can't believe that it's been 50 years since I last heard it. I sure miss the old days.😭

I used to listen to this song at my grandmother's house and it holds a lot of memories for me. Tears...I have to go to Miami for her funeral this coming Saturday. Nothing will ever be the same.

My uncle went to high school with rebbie. My dad was too young to go to school with them and they moved to California too quickly. I visit their house sometimes

It was indeed a great time to be black-afros, clothing styles,black films,black pride, the music,etc.I was a young high school teacher in North Carolina who had the greatest students in the world.When we went away from the afro style hairdo,it marked the beginning of our decline.

The Way The Delfonics And The Jackson 5 Did It Was Very Good I Like It Better And The Way They did It I Was almost 13 When Their Third Album Came Out And It Was The Best Version Of Ready Or Not I Have Ever Heard Back Then Here I Am 55 Years Old And That Song Is Now Done By That Actress On Good Luck Charlie.Everytime I Good Song Comes Along Someone Come Along And Ruins It Is Bad Enough That The Fugees Did And Now This They Need To Get Good Songwriters And Leave The Songs By Artist of The 60's Be.
Sounds way better than the delfonics , michael and jermaine made this song sound better.

I was born in 1970 but I wonder want it was like to be a teenager during this time. The music , afro, clothes and the bondness that black people shared. The music was about love and soul , wooing that girl not treating her with disrespect. It was so soulfoul.

I was in my twenties during the 70s. It was indeed a great time to be black-afros, clothing styles,black films,black pride, the music,etc.I was a young high school teacher in North Carolina who had the greatest students in the world.When we went away from the afro style hairdo,it marked the beginning of our decline.
