I think that sounds like a cool idea. I love to watch videos that are several hours long, not all in one go, but bit by bit. I’m not sure why I prefer it. Still love series videos too though.

Definitely look into the fertilizing contracts. With the wide spread on your fertilizer you can try and pick up all of the contracts when it is fertilizing season and make a ton of money real quick. Aside from that, baling contracts are good because you usually make money off some extra bales on top of the contract money.
The same for potato harvesting contracts, but those take way too long to complete even with AI support. For a 40k contract you can usually make another 12k in extra potato sales so if you’re doing a no loans run, it is worth considering.

One of my favorite series so far, just seems very easy to follow, no crazy mods, just basic "playing the original spirit of the game". I'm so excited to see you go in on grass silage! I think that's the right move to build up some reliable cash reserves. The John Deere 6R was an awesome buy for the money; in my playthrough I'm very happy with my Massey 8S. Both of them sit right in that sweet spot of mid sized tractors that are extremely versatile and useful.

An 8S is the perfect size machine for a grass handling outfit. I do like the 3 point wind tower that allows ai to bale for me. 😅

I am planning on attempting this challenge soon. My strategy is similar, I'd keep the grass fields for silage and lease a trailer for the bales to sell them all at once and limit trips to the sell point. Then use the income to get one of the bigger fields down the road near the trapezoid shaped one. after that field is bought and planted with canola for the oil mill I'd use silage profit to get your harvester/header to get rid of leasing costs and then you'd have everything you need and be able to stop renting. then saving for the other of the fields in that area for either a solar farm area or another field of crops to maybe save for the grain mill. This would give you the income streams of solar, oil mill, silage, and potentially grain mill. I believe sorghum has the best ratio for flour from the grain mill. Loving the series keep it up!

I just started playing the game and i love watching this series to learn all the aspects of the base game

From my play through the only mod I'm using is the John Deere 7000 6 row corn planter. I'm currently sitting at 57,000 $
I love Lot 71 bailing job. You end up with a dozen or so silage bales after completing the contract so the ~25k payout ends up paying nearly 80-90K. Tedious work but pays out great.
Do a series with no loans it make it way harder and we all enjoy this series because of how hard it is and seeing the slow progress

Pretty sure lettuce is the most profitable crop and you should turn off autosell
Dig up that middle driveway between the 2 front fields, you rarely use it, and it provides a small amount of extra farmable land and more efficient harvesting.
not sure about more bees, not sure if the bees are really turning a profit worth noticing at this point?
if he planted canola instead the beest would have boosted the harvest 😭
doing well with silage bales. playing on Calmdan, bought field #1 and by baling it for silage and holding the bales till peak time, over the course of a year i make about 2mil

The 6R is a good mid sized tractor, when you use an AI worker on a odd shaped field, that’s diagonal at the end, in my experience starting them on the short side keeps them reliably working with minimal cleanup required afterwards. Your big field there is pointed though, so you might have to do the short side to the end, then start them on the opposite edge on the other short side again.
Definility do the baling contract on 71. I think you will be happy wwith the results.

While I'm personally not a fan of rule changes, it is true that viewers like to watch creators who enjoy what they're doing. If Pickle doesn't like to do it, Pickle shouldn't have to.

You can use your front loader forks to pick up silage and straw bales and if you spread the forks out to max width, you can pick two bales up at a time

QOL mods should totally be allowed. I've never played farm sim so I honestly wouldn't even know what's modded and what's not though. I'm just here for my charming pickle
I agree Quality of Life Mods is what I would be interested in, however I don't mind keeping it how it is.
Do you plan on going back to the full map harvest with every tractor or is that done?

I am enjoying the series very much. I love that you plan ahead but are not afraid to change the plan….as you would in real life.
Jake, maybe start a second series to one billion with DLC and five mods

3)Straw Harvester Pack
4)Field Creator
5)Dry Corn Addon
Most are game play mods other than the enhanced BGA pack and Straw harvester pack. These are just all more realistic options to the game.
And the farm con mods. They were designed for Giants farming Simulator convention and fell base game.
Try doing root crops beats potatoes or sugar cane. They make more money but cost more to start doing.

Don't really need GPS, just use the compass points on your minimap: 0,90,180 and 270 degrees

You have been doing a great job. I have been reading comments and watching you for advice before starting my attempt. I'm doing it on live as a kind of speed/slow run thing. See how fast I can hit the billion. So I am going very slow and obviously no mods. I do it on live, so there is no chance of cheating, and everyone can see no mods or DLCs. I am worried something might mess up, and I will have to bring in the easy dev mod to fix it.

I don't play this game, but if the problem is having to buy both the head and the combine, why don't you just buy one and when you can, you can buy the other. Now that you're committing to grass, you have more time to watch the market for a used one of both, right?

You should buy some land near the farm and buy some cows. Also do a mix of meat cows and milk cows to make more profit.
Economic tip: more solar panels! It's taking you a mighty long time making money like the year you did nothing made you 80k or something. Had you bought another panel when you started skipping it would've payed around 40k that year and it would increase your passive income so much faster if you buy one regularly. Really like the series though!
It's true that solar panels rake in passive income, but as a viewer (non-player) it's more fun this way. There's nothing to watch in a field of solar panels.
@@Wodfamchocsod4 I agree with you, and I didn't mean to only buy the panels and skip the farming completely. Just thought that some more (maybe 5-10) would make it a bit quicker and easier for him to buy some more equipment and expand the farm.

Honestly borrowing money makes things so easy/boring. The whole reason I enjoy the series is for the struggle of actually making money to progress things

Buy a pickup truck and a bale trailer and sell some of the bales and keep some of them for like buying cows and other animals and why not buy a small house for you to sleep in or buy a camper for you to sleep in besides on sleep in your tractor

We haven’t really added mods yet but if we did they would be small “quality of life” things and nothing that would give us an advantage. I think loans are fair to use as that’s how billionaires get theirs lol I think it will be hard enough as it, we will see!

A thing that will save you some headache is when you’re dropping straw with your harvester, at the end of the pass stop for a couple seconds wait for the straw to stop dropping then make your turn around. You’ll thank past you for looking out for you when you have to bale it.
