I forgot to mention you need total darkness for them to spawn in the lush caves!

I swear to GOD! While I was beating the game, I saw not just one, or five, but at least 10 or more azelian trees, being 10 or more blocks away from each other! And when I finished beating the game and getting my elytra. I went straight to digging down, from all of the azelian trees.
And I saw the BIGGEST! Lush cave ever and NOT EVEN ONCE! I HAVE SEEN, AN AXOLOTL! I WAS SO DESPERATE AND FRUSTRATED, To the point I went into creative mode, just to find those little shits! And still NOT ONE, that I could find them!
Do they even spawn in Minecraft Beta!??

I think they can be rare and if a lot of other mobs spawn they can be throttled somewhat

​@@drackiseriesUpdate: First thank you for the respawn, and I went on a little test journey by creating atleast 3 different worlds and going to creative searching for those cute shits, I manage to find thwm (which I'm glad) and now knowing you are very right, those mobs are very much rare and not all lush cave have them, so starting a new suevival world and scouting them is going to be more of a challenge than beating the ender dragon, AGAIN in minecraft.

Can they summon in peaceful mode or can they only spawn when hostile mobs can spawn

I found such a big lush cave and I used night vision potions and still didn’t find them are they rare or something in bedrock edition

Can be rare but they also spawn in complete darkness in the lush cave

If there is not enough water or clay deposits in the lush cave it can be difficult. The bigger the lush cave the better tbh

I think you can so long as near water, in darkness and in the lush cave biome

Axolotl can perish when out of water but you can pick them up using a bucket of water

I would find a lush cave biome instead of making the required surroundings
You might be able to place more clay and water in the lush cave biome
